Yeah, I underestimated the Dick Bag nature of some people. Don't read any comments as some people just HAVE to spoil the movie in the comment section. Don't read comments here. Just watch the video, then have a glorious day!
Starwars has the most retarded fans. First the boomers hate on the prequels, and now this bitches are crying about the new ones. At least ROS was better than the last Jedi.
@ It completely devalues the character arcs established in the previous movies, and proves that there is absolutely no cohesion among the new films. For me, ROS is just one of the infections, that is the new trilogy, which has transformed Star Wars into a gangrenous corpse.
Yeah. And noticing the warning signs in the background. In The Force Awakens, you could maybe say that it wasn't so bad. It definitely did some good things. Then by The Last Jedi we were clearly in denial. This is obviously not working but its Star Wars. It HAS to work. And by The Rise of Skywalker we had come to accept the inevitable and we just came to watch this sham of a trilogy crash and burn and Rise of Skywalker did exactly what we expected.
@@umanuu Abrams had an outline for the whole trilogy and Rian scrapped the whole thing and did his own "vision." The fact that Kathleen Kennedy allowed that to happen was when people saw how flawed her leadership was
+julius fog NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you are not.
Agree 100% about Phasma. Thought she was going to be a ruthless bad arse, but turns out all she did was get hazed by a sanitation storm trooper... Very disappointing, as I thought she'd be the new generations Boba. Force Yoda wept :'(
Finn's actually in the top 1 percent stormtrooper. And was considered officer material according to the book that takes place before the movie lol.He is not just a sanitary stormtrooper.
Episode 8 was such an important film to the sequel trilogy since it determined the route for the rest of the trilogy, why did they have to go the route they did...
@@alias9786 except it had to follow it to a degree because it had to acknowledge things tlj did, and the rest of what it did was determined by trying to undo tlj. So pretty much the entire movie is still determined by what tlj did.
Where was Jar Jar and the trade federation? But I am so proud of JJ, I love the film and the new characters. Every frame had so much going on! Good job JJ!
Spoiler Alert! Also my personal opinion Pros Characters Storytelling Great CGI Kylo Ren Dogfights Screenplay Soundtrack Returning Actors Lead Actors BB-8 Quotable Lines Han Solo Scene where Han Solo Dies(very emotional and very well executed) Cons Rehashed plot Captain Phasma The CGI squid thing Ending(R2 just woke up outta nowhere) Overall this is a fantastic film both in general and as a Star Wars film, Star Wars is back! Definitely a 9/10 for me
Lockjaw, instead of commenting 'this movie is shit'on several reactions here, why don't you try to be mature and come up with some arguments that support your opinion? Or at least be mature enough to accept that people have different opinions? Yeah, I know it's tough, but at least try.
After reading the comments in UA-cam I'm so disappointed that a lot of star wars fans point in the movie. He is not the generic bad guy all mighty & pure evil. He is a kid behind a mask with a lot of problems inside of him. His face reveal wasn't suppose to be in a major scene like people wanted. He has by no means a monster face or even a familiar face in the franchise. His reveal was simple just like his "face" is. You can see how immature he is and how easy he lose control and destroys everything and no he is NOT A SITH LORD or anything close to it.
Exactly man. They just don't get it. He's more human. He's struggling to rid himself of the light side still. He's trying so hard to match up to Darth Vader. And he's still young and being trained. Simple minded people just wanted him to be Vader 2.0. Silly.
+Michael Cruz I hope you're right that he's not a Sith. I like them just being some new sect of the dark side than sith. He's a weaker villain right now but I assume he'll be stomping the shit out our heroes for the next film. I mean the Empire/FO just had two loses back to back now.
Thebigredsnake He's part of the Knights of Ren. The Siths are more like a ideology but maybe they decide to make Snoke a Sith considering how much this movie borrowed from the old ones .
I was SEVERELY disappointed with Captain Phasma and how they did NOTHING with her at all. I hear she's returning for episode VIII so I'm hoping that she can make a good 2nd impression
I was disappointed with daisy's acting as well as how poe and Finn escaped the ship hanger without disabling the shield... unless he already did so before hand. and how kylo ren got his ass handed to him.
I thought TFA was very, very good. AND it opened up SO MUCH for the entire trilogy to be iconic. I liked The Last Jedi as a film quite a bit; I thought it was a very good film. HOWEVER, it meant that all the potential for this trilogy to be iconic died out - it wasn't a very good *Star Wars* movie. I bet if JJ directed all the films, each one would've been great. The third film is JJ trying to fix TLJ and please the fans, not making the best film that he wanted to make.
"Kylo Ren was a weak sissy" Sigh... This what you get when blockbuster audiences expect every villain to be this intimidating, evil ball of badass-ness with no human side to them at all. Yes, Kylo Ren is a young Dark Side noob, he's insecure, scared, weak, conflicted, trying too hard to be the next Vader. And all that makes him a compelling, round character and easily one of the most interesting villains we got in Star Wars so far. He is pretty much what Anakin should have been like in the prequels.
I thoroughly enjoyed his character. He was so human. Wish people would understand not every evil character had to be a big bad toughy. I loved how vulnerable he ended up being. Struggling to fight off the light side. That was just awesome.
+zamkowicz To start I loved the movie, it was a blast. That being said I hear you. However, im confused about where theyre going with him. He can't be the main villain in the next movie, that ship has sailed for him. They turned him into to much of a joke. This can be seen in his temper tantrum light saber outbursts, his ass getting handed to him by a jedi who had literally never touched a saber before, and best of all his own storm troopers treating him like a joke/little child. It was hilarious when he was crying and the Storm Troopers turned their heels 180 and walked the other way. You could almost here them saying "Jr is having another bitch fit, send in the techies to replace his computer afterwards".
+CptCanada Seems clear to me: he's going to seek revenge against Rey and later on we'll most likely see him redeem himself somehow. That or Chewbacca will rip his arms off
And when that Sith Jawa shows up with that black light saber (god that was evil) and says, calmly, "Utinni" in his little squeaky voice... I got chills.
. I didn't see Jabba, but he may have been in the temple with the creatures around Maz Kanata. Just also have to say Lupita Nyong'o is gorgeous... they should have had her actually visibly in the film, not just voice actor/motion capture. Oh wait I got serious for a bit. Fuck that. Chewie humping Rey's leg was a bit too far.
Original Trilogy = Loved Prequels = Hated for being nothing like the original trilogy New Sequels = Hated for being too much like the original trilogy I think I understand George Lucas' hate towards his own fanbase. The fans are turning out to be more bitter than George.
prink34320 kinda of sad how people bitch and whine over starwars a series that shows how compassion, friendship and hope are what makes even weird space creatures human and relatable argue to no end over their opinions of the series in an often pessimistic fashion heck even oscar issac himself got made fun of for loving return of the jedi more than any other star wars films nvrtheless it is nice to see people like jeremy jahns and chris stuckman genuinely enjoy what they love without pissing on other peoples opinions sorry for the long post
juckoosaurus It's 2015, people become less grateful for what they get to experience over the years :c I personally enjoy each Episode in the series, I never understood why people disliked the Prequel to be honest and I don't think I'll understand why some people dislike Episode VII: The Force Awakens and before anyone tells me "opinions" no, those aren't the hateful comments I'm talking about, I mean the comments from people who dislike the prequels or latest movie just for something like a character or a different pace or similarities to it's origins. People asked for the movies to be closer to the origins, they got it and in my opinion it blew every other Episode out of the water :p
+gingervampireFTW It would be totally spoilery to talk about here. Have you seen the movie yet? Okay below there might be a few spoilers read at your own risk: The Biggest problem I had with the movie is the even Super duper death star laser. That trope is over. How do you revisit that a 3rd time? The first order was evil, there was no need to give them this super laser weapon. It was lame. Ray was missing something. Something that could have been shown in the movie in about 3 minute in the beginning. She could have woken from a force dream of the past and the future. With a few words telling her to give into the force.( She could have been dreaming about Ren Killing Leia. That would have been cool.) Then while she was a scavenger she could have shown some Jedi powers before she just jumps into the falcon and starts flying around like she was Anakin Skywalker. She should have been able to use the force already, instead of Bam, she can now use the force. All I'm saying is her power or control of the force should have grown even more over time in the movie but it should have been set that Rey had the power even without training. It should have been apart of her from the start. Leia was just bad. I would have shot her role differently from the start. Shot being the key word. Leia should have been with Poe at the start of the movie looking for the Map to Luke. ( Oh I would not have used a Map, that was just Stupid. They should have been interviewing someone that run into Luke or Seen him. Someone that Luke might have saved before running off yet again. Luke should have be doing the old David Banner role wondering the galaxy helping people while trying to hide. The Map idea was just stupid.) Leia should have been Max Von Sydow's character. She should have been hunted down and Killed by Ren in the opening of the movie as Poe trys to escape. BB8 should have went to Rey for Help to rescue Poe only to run into Finn who tells them Poe is dead. Then they are running for their lives before the order is after them. The movie should have played the start as Leia dealing with Ren...not Ben. She should have played it as if her son was dead and she was facing the monster that kill him.(Never letting us know who Ren was) That would have added to the role of Han when Han then tracks down Ren to kill him, only to fail to be able to pull the trigger and is then Killed himself. Just before Ren kills his father, he takes off the mask to show he was just a young man. At that time we should have pointed out his quest was complete. First it was Leia and not Han. With the mask, there should have been a scar or a mark on this face. Something he was covering up. I know it's a trope but a scar would have added to the idea that the boy was damaged and it was part of what pushed him to the dark side. Or better yet, it could have been a scar given to him by Luke. Yet Luke was unable to bring Ben back and was even less able to kill him after he goes dark. Mostly due to Han and Leia. But with Han and Leia dead. It would give Luke the strength to come out of hiding to finish the job he failed to do. Kill Ren. Of course Luke would need to fail at this as well in the next movie, leaving the task to Rey. who can step up to take down Ren. REN SHOULD NOT GET SAVED. HE NEEDS TO STAY EVIL and DIE EVIL. We can't keep using all plots here and giving him the Vader would be wrong. Sometime you can't be saved. Ren was awesome in the opening of the movie. Then he takes his mask off and the character takes a bad turn. He comes off like a whiny brat. Not good. Finn is a Storm Trooper. Sure he could have had his break and wanting to leave the order, but where does that equal bitch or fool? He's a trooper. He should have had some more Leadership skills. We should have been looking at the next general in training, not someone trying to run at all costs. Luke Running is different. Luke ran because he could have seen his fall to Ren and the Dark power that would risen. Something he could not let happen and was looking for a way to stop it. Yet Finn was a Trooper. He should have it in him that death is something that comes to all troopers. Even as a Trooper Finn could have had a break, which leaves him No longer wanting to kill for the Order, but willing to defend himself and others if need be. So he stays the bad ass trooper even without the armor. Just picture Fett without Armor and him still kicking ass. That should have been Finn. There I fixed about half the movie and it took me about 20 minutes.
I'm seriously not listening to anyone saying that Episode 7 is too similar to the originals. All Star Wars fans were complaining that the prequels were nothing like the originals. Now you're complaining that is too much like Star Wars? Pish off
+Adam Sykes Too much of or too little of anything can be bad. Is that really that hard to understand? So if Force Awakens had been a literal copy/paste of New Hope but with new character names, would you be be saying 'pish off' to people who think it's too similar?
star wars fans are never happy. they always fucken complain. i for one loved every second of the movie! :D people will always whine. get over it you fucken babies seriously stop eating dorritos in your moms basement people
I loved the use of music in the film, but also the use of silence. There were a few scenes where there was no music at all, like when Ray is in the star destroyer, and you just feel like you're in an empty place with her. Also that one scene between Kylo Ren and Ray, where there is no music, no dialogue, but it is a really powerful scene.
+Matt Cameron Or the scene when she discovers the lightsaber; I found the lack of music gave that scene a great amount of weight that it otherwise wouldn't have had with music.
+Matt Cameron Hey what was the theme of this one? You know how the other 6 literally have one song that is the theme to the entire movie? What was this one's theme?
Or when the resistence shows up and Poe takes down one of the First Order ships the explosion is muffled like you're hearing from within his ship. The sounds alone were one of my favorite aspects.
It's not really a reference, but it's just plain copying the originals. So it seemed stale by comparison. I've seen it all before and it failed to get me excited. It was made for people that have never seen Star Wars before. The lightsaber fight I disagree with Jeremy. It wasn't choreographed, but it also didn't seem ORGANIZED, either. It lacked direction. I feel like JJ Abrams just told the actors to go into the woods and flail wildly at each other. I can understand Rey and Finn not having any training at all, but Kylo Ren is supposed to be highly trained so seeing him use no form or finesse at all was ridiculous.
+crzymn246 Kylo Ren isn't highly trained either. He's never dueled with a saber before. This is a first for all of the characters. So for them to be flailing as if this is their first time doing it makes perfect sense. And the cinematography, and the amazing use of the environments, was sick.
Kylo Ren was not highly trained. Twice you see him lose his shit and slash things with his saber. From the movie he was being trained, but he was not that far into training.
Kylo Ren wasn't even completely trained, and it looks like his fighting style is self-taught; I doubt he ever got to spar with Lightsaber-wielding opponents.
sylinmino Did you not pay attention? It was shown that he used to be Luke Skywalker's pupil but he turned to the dark side and betrayed the Jedi Order. He must have had at least a modicum of basic training in order to do that and not get killed. He wasn't shown to have any dismemberment or scars so clearly he was competent enough to be in a battle that killed dozens without a scratch. Expecting him to at least how to properly hold a sword in a guard position doesn't seem like that lofty of an expectation.
+crzymn246 When you spend a significant amount of time letting your skills fade away (who else is he going to Lightsaber spar with?) and you weren't even fully trained to begin with, you'd be surprised. His overconfidence and lack of connection to the force/wrecked emotional state was his greatest weakness and ultimately why he lost the fight.
Am I the only one that was disappointed with this. Everyone I saw it with loved it, but I honest to God think that Edge of Tomorrow was a better sci fi movie. It had better, more compelling characters, a cooler story, and was more impactful than SWTFA. Maybe it's because I was never a complete Star Wars fanboy. Of course I like the originals, but I'm more of a LOTR guy. This was a fun movie, but I don't think it should be getting 9/10 ratings. Maybe 7/10.
i reall like star wars and me and my bro agree on it being average it feels like a marvel movie which is a bad thing the whole internet is just riding the hype train hard
+Alex Cross Die hard fan here and no they remade Episode IV to me. It's just proof the rest of the fanbase got too hypercritical of the series and now the studio is too scared to have an original plot.
+Zoltan1251 Kylo was amazing. He was everything I wanted Anakin to be in prequels, actually. exploring the Dark side & his powers. His story is going to be awesome across the trilogy. He's not even fully trained yet.
+The Croaker Yeah, just like Boba she went out like a wuss. Unlike Boba, she wasn't even cool. She wasn't menacing or anything. She was just a wimpy voiced girl with cool armor.
It was good. Finn was easily the biggest upside of the movie. Just a great character overall. The biggest problem with the movie is.... (vague spoilers) It was basically A New Hope redone.
I've heard that complaint a lot lately and I just saw the movie today, but I feel like while the plot was similar in concept, HOW it was done was what made it different and unique. 1.) Starkiller base is basically the Death Star: while it is undeniably true that the two are very similar, how the two look on the surface with Starkiller base having a fake atmosphere and the Death Star just being a machine is very different. Also, Starkiller base can destroy multiple planets with one shot and relies on a star's energy to do so 2.) BB 8's quest is the same as r2d2's: while both of them are essentially just delivering data to their destinations, BB 8's quest was more of a sidetrack to a future meet up to Luke, rather than being a plan to destroy Starkiller base... I can go on and on with this, basically; many other people are really exaggerating how similar this movie is to a new hope, it has homages and similar concepts sure, but HOW they are executed and the character motivations behind them are very different.
Walamonga 1313 The ideology of (sort of spoilers?)... Wanting to get away from the the ruthless killing First Order/Empire because he saw how brutal people like Ren could be?
Watching this today with a tear in my eye, my energy after watching the force awakens was exactly the same as Jeremy in 2015. Disney I’ll never forgive you
But Disney made TFA. I lay blame on Rian and to a lesser extent Kathleen Kennedy. JJ was forced to make two movies into one because the rise of Skywalker is definitely the real sequel to TFA. TLJ doesn't count. 😂
@@kbg12ila JJ did have a road map. Rian Johnson threw it out. That's confirmed to have happened. That's why ROS spent so much time trying to rewire everything. If ROS had two movies to flesh out what it had and directly came after TFA, everything would be fine. Rian Johnson and his garbage put the trilogy in a hard place and Kathleen Kennedy is just as garbage for letting him do that.
@@286mic Yeah that happened, but it was said it was a very rough road map. It wasnt something defined. JJ always works like this. They both messed it up, but it was bob iger and KKs fault most of all.
Hey Jeremy something funny I came across; I was watching the Star Wars Opening Day story on snapchat and two guys sang the words "Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars!" and I instantly knew they watched your channel xD good stuff
+Max Krampe I just got back from watching it and was having mixed feelings until I finally got home. I could not explain why I felt so disappointed with the movie since I liked the characters (even though they grew overly attached for no reason) and the action was pretty good as well. That's when I realized that this wasn't a Star Wars movie, but just an action movie with Star Wars slapped in the title. The prequels might not have been as good as the originals, but they still felt like Star Wars. I didn't like some parts in the original trilogy and hated some parts of the prequels, but there were a couple of scenes where my inner child screamed and clapped. Episode VII only gave the that feeling twice in the whole film, when the opening theme started, and when Luke showed up.
+Saric It didn't blow me away either but it's the first movie in probably over a decade that I just want to watch over and over. It's entertaining and made the world feel so new again. I'm excited to be living in a time where I get to experience good Star Wars. The prequels were okay, there were things I liked about them but I didn't care when they came out. To me Luke, Leia, Han, Vader, Yoda, C3-PO and R2-D2 are the kind of characters that made the series great and now we get to continue that story.
People are complaining this is a remake of 1977 original but when an original Star Wars Movie comes out the fans go mad. I don’t think anyone can enjoy a Star Wars movie anymore.
@@helenline1790 THE LAST JEDI IS THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE IN HISTORY!?!? what the fuck is wrong with you don't ever mention that fucking movie Rian Johnson ruined that movie he made the worst movie in history whoever says that movie is higher than a 0 out of 10 needs to be slapped across the mouth for speaking ignorance the force awakens is the best star wars movie you must be smoking rock salt you utter ignorance out of your flapping loose lips sinking ships ass nigga
This film was excellent. All I'll say is (this isn't a spoiler) it leaves you with unanswered questions. But that's fine, because it's a trilogy, they will be answered, hopefully.
+Matt Eldridge That's the thing that people tend to forget. Some bitching about it like dumbasses. This movie is never meant to be a standalone instead it's part of the trilogy from the get go.
How I would rate the Star Wars movies as of November 2016: The Phantom Menace - Good time if you're drunk Attack of the Clones - Good time if you're drunk Revenge of the Sith - Worth buying on Blu-Ray A New Hope - Awesometacular The Empire Strikes Back - Awesometacular Return of the Jedi - Awesometacular The Force Awakens - Awesometacular
...you realize Force Awakens wasn't trying to be original right? It was trying to be a soft reboot and jumpstart a dead franchise by going back to its roots. That was Force Awakens' job. Not to be original. I guarantee you episode 8 and 9 will have "original stories". But that wasn't The Force Awaken's job. You dislike Force Awakens because you wanted it to be something, and the movie was trying to be something else entirely. Simple
I know he feels different now, but I'm still right here where he was. I rewatched it tonight for the first time in quite awhile. And while I was disappointed by the sequels overall (mainly because of rise) The Force Awakens holds up. It's a DAMN good movie. Really well directed, well written, and works perfectly as a launch point for a new trilogy. For me, even though the end of the trilogy doesn't really pan out, it doesn't change the fact that TFA is a really good movie and deserves to be remembered as a classic and for what it did for most of us in 2015. Which was welcome us back to A Galaxy Far Far Away
The only thing i can really gripe about in regards to this movie, is how Rey just develops jedi abilities out of the blue, whereas it took like 3 movies for Luke to finally become a decent jedi.
***** Even then there was no way she could win a duel against a very well trained Sith lord. Then again, we're talking about the Sith lord who was having trouble in a lightsaber duel against an ex-stormtrooper. These are just minor nitpicks of mine though, because all in all it was a great movie.
+Deus Maguary I mentioned in another comment that it seems that Kylo Ren isn't that strong yet because he is still young, inexperienced, and arrogant (much like Luke and Anakin were). His overconfidence makes him get caught off guard by Rey and Finn. We Star Wars fans are just so used to the developing hero and the established, powerful, and experienced sith lord, but here I see that BOTH the villan (Kylo Ren) and hero (Rey) are still developing and aren't fully ready as jedi and sith.
+TheFeralBishop Most probably missed it or didn't get it as it was subtle BUT I believe there WAS a wink to the prequals and them being DESTROYED , I wont spoil it but when the planets are getting destroyed (aaah cmon you knew it was gunna happen some time with that huge cannon thing) one looks to be a representation of the prequals having a look and style of them and if Jar jar was hidden amongst the crown I wouldn't have been surprised
+Eduards Verenkovs we don't know for certain (unless the cast list for 8 is already up and I haven't checked) since the death is not on screen but if they just threw her in a trash compactor and we never saw them turn it on she could have escaped
I would rank the prequels above 'The Force Awakens'. I am on the camp of it was 'entertaining' but lacking any innovation in cinematography (visuals were lacking). The rehash of 'A New Hope' is not nostalgia, it's a rehash. Finn was the most interesting character. The opportunity for innovation was with his character.
+Stephen Brockie Have you seen the cinematography in the prequels? It's some of the laziest camera placement and movement I've seen in a major Hollywood film trilogy. The cinematography in this film was spectacular. But I do agree with you on the lack of innovation in story development. That annoyed me.
jed52 There was some low hanging fruit to pick on in that movie (trilogy), sure, but the larger battles in the prequels and CGI was relevant for its time. I didn't see any amazing imagery in this film. Where was the wonder, where was the awe? The flat characters in the prequels were saved by the visuals. Lucas' creative genius is missing from this film. Abrams just stuck with the contrived safe formula of post classic cinema.
+Stephen Brockie One thing I will say about the prequels is that they were much more impressive. The visuals and audio were captivating. I didn't really feel that in this movie. This movie played it too safe. It was too predictable, and it rehashed too many things that already existed in the older movies. The music also felt uninspired, being largely composed of remixes from the old films. There was no Duel Of The Fates moment, no flying on the edge of your seat intensity. This movie felt largely unoriginal and it lacked intensity
@ I think the video "George felt betrayed" from Jeremy speaks for itself, i am sure he might still like The Force Awakens but its obvious he does feels bad about the state Star Wars is in right now.
@ Well sir thats just your opinion, and as for me i dont care that he got 4 billion for it, he still was betrayed, it doesnt make it okay. And some of us do genuily like George's ideas.
+The Dashboard I think that's kind a Star Wars tradition now. Tarkin, Boba, Jabba, Grievous, Maul, Jango, Dooku all suffer the same fate of being cool but getting punked out because they are henchmen.
+Thebigredsnake man I really hate how Tarkin died in the 4th movie since he was one my favorite character in the clone wars and the 4th movie. Plus he's better than the new guy we got in my opinion.
atanas petkov I like Hux he's at least not screwing up. However I agree Tarkin is a good snobby villian and the Clone Wars stuff with him was fantastic. Him and Anakin connecting over facism/getting stuff done.
+The Dashboard You know which soldier of the First Order became the fan favorite that Phasma was intended to be? TR-8R, aka, the electric-baton stormtrooper. No kidding, this guy has become a wicked-popular meme. Look him up if you don't believe me.
My Problems with the Movie. Spoilers! 1) Kylo Ren was too weak. 2) Ray was too strong with the Force, or more accurately was SUDDENLY able to use complex force techniques... 3) Light saber's do not 'call' to people. That whole sequence of Ray was nonsense. 4) Ray was able to beat Kylo Ren in force Duels without any training, while he was supposedly well trained from Luke himself. 5) The Movie shows the devastating power of Chewbacas weapon when it kills multiple storm troopers on numerous ocasion. When it hits Kylo Ren in the Gut it does not send him flying off the walkway he was on. He just gets a small bleeding wound. 6) Captain Phasma did jack shit (Tho to be fair there are 2 more films where she could do more, if anything at all). 7) Kilo rens Identity reveal from snoke was underwhelming. Should had been a talk between Solo and Kylo. 8) Knights of Ren do not even apear besides a small Cameo.
***** The problem with Rey is not the Power, but the ability. The two are not the same thing. Also she never had any use of the force before the Lightsabre 'calls' to her and all of a sudden she is using Jedi Mind tricks? really.
+Ino Koludrovic it wasnt rey if you watch it again it was luke in reys mind he is connected to her through the movie. that how she could use the mind trick and fight so well. she actually said to kylo "you are affraid that you wont be as powerful as darth vader" that was luke talking to kylo. and at the end kylo was smashing her in the duel but remember when she closed her then luke connected and she staarted fighting like luke.
Justin Street No offense but that's Nonsense. Luke was not connecting to her. She knew about Darth Vader because she was probing Kylo Rens Mind while he was probing here's, which is why i say she won the mind battle duel which is bullshit because she was untrained.
Ino Koludrovic not nonsense after watching several times ive picked up on it. she actually said to fin she didnt know how she was doing it. its lukes daughter for sure thats why he was so emotional at the end when he saw her.
***** Ren was off guard when the bolt hit him. No way he could had used the force to tank it. Also in terms of Physical Training there is only so much that can be done. That Bolt was sending Troopers Flying from the force of Impact. Also while i understand that the light saber was calling the protagonist in Rebels, it did not make sense then, it does not make sense now. The reality is there is nothing special about a light saber besides the technology. There is not Mystical attachment between a Light saber and a Jedi or Sith.

3 weeks after release... and since the release, I have not seen a valid or objective comment from the haters to justify why this movie is bad. They just fail, lol.
+DatSniperBietch i've literally been scrolling down the comments just to see what they can come up with, like seriously it's the 1/3 of the trilogy with answers to be answered in 8/9, IV did not have everything answered either lol
+Eternal Syn how was rei under developed? She was interesting and likeable and was also very mysterious as there are many unanswered questions which they will answer in the next movies.
mickey rock She did never discover the dark side of the force, it is not called "dark force" btw. No, is not a plothole... if you pay attention carefuly you will know what the fuck is going on.
+DatSniperBietch There were a LOT of flaws with this movie, like, a long list of very valid criticisms exist, but you're too blind to see them. This was my favourite 7/10 movie i've seen in a VERY long time.
the movie has an inexcuseable plot, and inexcusable plot holes, plus a whole lot of toher shit. watch a video where they bring up the infinite amount of stuff it does bad
Energizing Films depends on how you look at it. morally, episode 7 is garbage. this movie will be considered shit in a few years because of unoriginal plot etc
You can type in almost any movie and add the word sucks on the end and something will always be bound to come up. If I typed in why Blade Runner sucks there would probably be a bunch of videos explaining why it's shit. Also it won't be considered shit. Sorry mate. The Prequels from day one were considered garbage and it's been eleven damn years since Revenge of the Sith and they are still considered garbage. If anything Force Awakens has made them look even worse by comparison.
Bane Knightfall its the other way around. the prequels were considered by many as amzing at first, but then everyone started hatng. still 100 times better than episode 7 because of originality, and good storytelling. many people like the prequels
I watched this yesterday and it was literally the best fucking movie experience I've ever had this year. My dad grew up with the franchise and he was also getting quite emotional but you could feel the energy in the whole theater, and the thrill of this film was truly unmatched. The nostalgia I felt from around six years ago when I got into the series, and the sheer perfection of every moment, it was profound, really. One of my favorite aspects of the film was how every shot, every fucking shot, would make such a beautiful desktop wallpaper. Seriously, the visual element was just... my god. Even the way the actors' skin tones fit in with the lighting, bright color and background was amazing to witness. Somehow you got time to appreciate the quality of individual frames and then acknowledge the beauty of watching the scene move and bring that art to life. And then there was the true substance in all the acting/storytelling. I'm not going to be a dick and spoil shit but Jesus Christ, the excitement was constant. CONSTANT! And everything was so well balanced! All the characters had perfect amounts of screentime and while the plot was almost like a rehash of A New Hope, it was entertaining, unique, and frankly had more emotional weight than the originals. At times I felt myself tearing up at scenes I wouldn't normally get so emotionally attached to, for reasons I can't quite place my finger on. It could just be the sheer power of the acting there, and the effort and passion the cast/crew put into respecting and carrying on such an amazing legacy. And of course the characters. Han Solo was definitely my favorite since he had that boyish energy from before (at certain scenes I felt myself forgetting that he was in his 70's), and I could almost imagine the joy that grumpy Harrison Ford felt when he stepped back into the shoes of everyone's favorite smug smuggler. The new characters were all beyond fantastic. Daisy Ridley was impressive af as Rey, John Boyega was a perfect Finn, Oscar Isaac giving some surprising energy and wit to Poe (last I saw him was as the unnerving, quiet and creepy billionaire in Ex Machina), and the elephant in the room, Adam Driver, who made Kylo Ren feel like an actual human being with dark, haunting torment inside. His unstable vulnerability made him one of the most intimidating villains in the universe. All in all just a profoundly thrilling experience. My 3rd favorite movie behind Dark Knight at 2 and Whiplash at 1. Best movie of 2015, with Inside Out at 2 and The Martian at 3.
the moment that I cried was as soon as that logo popped onto the screen and that classic star wars music played. I went to the midnight premier, and oooh was it beautiful seeing that on the big screen after 10 years. everyone in the theater was cheering in joy. it was beautiful. seeing everyone with a common love for something as you join you in the theater for something you've long awaited. It was an awesome moment, and a moment I won't forget.
This was my favorite movie of all time now, which is weird to say because Episode V and III have held that title collectively for a long time. Such a great experience but my only wish is that they move away from some nostalgia stuff and get into newer things, and please (COULD BE SPOILER SO PLEASE DONT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVENT SEEN): ...and please keep Luke off the dark side lol, hoping they dont pull a "conflicted between the light and dark" on him since he pretty much totally rejected the dark side after ROTJ
+Stormtrooper MK-97 holy crap... you are a total fanboy arent you... this is the worst movie, not only on the starwars saga, but,... basicaly the year, just pay attention, and see how this movie is not so much about star wars, and more about product placement, see around you, there are even star wars oranges out there, really men, its a rip of of the fourth movie (or first, whatever works for you)
+Bruno Martinez Product placement means placing a product from the real world inside a movie universe, like Twinkies in Die Hard or Ghostbusters. Did we see any Star Wars brand merchandise, or any other real world products, in the film placed in such a way as to grab our attention? I understand not liking the mass marketing of movies, but we should judge the film based on its own merits, not on outside factors like makeup or produce. Also, I think the word you are looking for is "homage" or "tribute" instead of rip-off. Star Wars is full of direct references to everything from Westerns to Taoism, so it shouldn't be surprising that it would take inspiration again from the things that made it so popular. Was it too safe? Yeah, but it does it well, even exceptional in some cases. Keep in mind that this movie is reintroducing a film series that was absent for a decade, and that the last three movies weren't well received. It's totally lily reasonable to go with what works in that case.
is really not, absent for 10 decades? you can rent them or buy them any time you want, really, and also, i said product placement because this movie has done something aweful, it took the products and insted of showing them in the movie, we have them outside! for godsake there are even star wars oranges, what the hell? it is not done well it is in deed a copy of something we all already saw, we need something new, fresh, not a retale, also, been a fanboy sure is cool, but please, be true to the movie, it was not that good, at all. just.... just look at kylo ren, he, he was shit, not the shit, but shit.
+Bruno Martinez That was the whole point of the character: he was trying to be like his idol but deep down he is afraid and uncertain. It added a dimension of humanity and introduced the possibility of growth later on, and frankly it was refreshing to see that they weren't going to make him "Vader 2.0" but instead make him his own unique person. As for your other concerns, the movies were available for home viewing, but then again so are John Wayne movies. Are John Wayne movies in the popular consciousness? That's an extreme example, but you get my meaning. And I share your dislike of mass marketing, but that's controlled by Disney and Marketing executives, and it is completely unfair to blame the film for that. Product placement is under the control of the filmmakers and affects the viewer's suspension of disbelief, whereas what you described is simply a big corporation trying to make a lot of money. I thought they did a good job twisting old plot points so that they seemed fresh.
Spoiler Alert The only problem I have in this movie the that they totally wasted Gwendoline Christie character. She doesn't do anything in this movie, as she is only their for 3 min of screen time. I was so hyped for her character when I saw her in the trailer because she looked like a total badass. But seriously what was her purpose, you could literally replace her charter with a normal stormtroper that is high ranked. But I still loved this movie.
+Elnaz Vossoughi The trailers made her seem like a major character in the film when really she was just there waaaaay in the background. Talk about a wasted opportunity. Funny thing is my friend said Phasma is supposed to be a strong independent woman yet she was captured, succumbed to the demands of our heroes, and was thrown down the garbage chute. Yeah really strong alright
your "nostalgia" and "buy it on blu ray for objectivity and non star wars fans" comments at the end made me think that if you were a professor and this movie was your student, it got a 90 on the exam but because it was your favorite student you just gave it a 100.
Well except no. I mean I understand completely what your saying but that was just a bad example. Movie ratings are opinionated, students grades are not, if a teacher recognizes the student got the wrong answer than it wouldn't be a good teacher to give them a good grade. For Jeremy it completely makes sense, if you are a previous fan of Star Wars you will like this movie more than new comers because of it's inside jokes, references, and nostalgia other people watching just won't have which will be less enjoyable, It think that just makes Jeremy even a better critic for forming an opinion for everyone whether you are a Star Wars fan or not.
+Xross SweatPantz actually he said that because of all the references he found it more enjoyable but a non fan wouldn't hence they'd like it a bit less.
It was good, but four things annoyed me: 1. The two big reveals (who Kylo Ren is and his face) were revealed way too early, if they only said who he was and he removed his mask the first time on that bridge it would've been so epic, such a missed opportunity. 2. How could Rey be any good at piloting? And how could Rey or Finn be any good with a lightsaber? And don't say it The Force. 3. Why was Kylo Ren such a badass at the start and then such a weakling at the end? I know they did have a good reason, maybe he just sucks without his little brainwashed army around him. 4. The final scene on the island should've been the opening to the next movie, it was complete tacked on for no reason. The movie was complete, then they added this sequel baiting bit. -_-
This doesn't just apply to Jeremy, but every so called "real movie critic" on YT was raving about TFA back then, even the fanbase and general audience. Because TFA is in fact, a very well made and entertaining film. Some people nowadays like to pretend even this movie is bad. I miss those day when every piece of entertainment was not caught up in some culture war nonsense, 2016 was when it all started.
It's not a bad movie, it's just recycled, but everyone let it pass at the time because they expected its sequels to be way better but that never happened
@@RatzCarnatz Everyone let it pass? It's a bit more than that, all the self proclaimed die hard fans where crapping on George Lucas for a decade (remember the meme George Lucas raped my childhood?) and many cheered when it was announced Disney bought Star Wars and were going to make new movies without his input? The hypocrisy stinks. Now they say Disney is an evil corporation that ruined Lucas' vision. Well you shouldn't have crapped on Lucas in the first place and cheered for Disney, maybe your criticism now would be more valid.
@@philmitchell91 the die hard fans of any media ever are a minority, yes when TFA released it was liked by the general audience, a lot of them haven gone back and changed their opinion after the next two movies
A message to everyone who hasn't watched the force awakens. First, do not read the comments beyond here, someone WILL spoil the movie. Second, go see the movie, now, it's awesome.
I know The Force Awakens takes a lot of elements from the first movie, but I kind of saw it coming. And I thought it was a pretty good idea since it's a way of showing us that they're going back to the way Star Wars used to be and it was also a way to introduce Star Wars to a newer generation. I really like this movie.
Take me back to 2015 when the hype for this film and the trilogy as a whole was through the roof. Couldn't move for fan theories, analysis and just general excitement. Great times, shame they didn't last...
+Dapper Disrespectful well that is like saying the emperor was disappointing in ESB. you still have 2 movies to go. you don't want everything in this one film
+Dapper Disrespectful Not disappointing, but I hated how he was like a giant. That makes it super unnatural, especially since we all know Rey/Finn will end up having to kill him in episode IX
Disney is going to keep expanding the Star Wars universe for at least the next decade so it's reasonable to understand why they would want to play it safe with the first film.
+AboAbdulable It's not sad at all, fuck Corusant. I didn't ever want to see that stupid fucking planet again and no movie has made me smile as hard as when Force Awakens obliterated that shit.
logandh2 ok, but The Force Awakens still suffers from an originality problem, I consider it a problem since it's a missed opportunity to introduce anything new without lazily relying 90% of the movie on the originals' materials and plots.
As much as I like the film I can understand why some mightn't like it. The majority of us expected a new tale and when we basically got Episode 4 again. But hey I still liked it!
TylerPierson It's because generally people over-analyse Star Wars way too much. If you type into YT 'The Force Awakens Sucks' it will come up with multiple 30min+ videos going through practically every frame explaining why it's the worst film in the Star Wars franchise or the worst film of all time. Unless a Star Wars film is on a godly level a good portion of the fanbase will dislike it, and a lot of these people can't accept that their opinion is not fact, as whenether you like the movie or not is completely subjective. Obviously the film had quite a few flaws in terms of the actual story itself (Such as it being almost exactly the same as A New Hope) and I completely understand why some people don't like it, but in terms of production design, writing, costumes, practical and special effects and cinematography I think it did a good job.
it's nice that I got to find a group of people writing the comments that loved the force awakens, It's been hard Loving X-men Apocalypse and Suicide Squad when I keep hearing people hating on the films. I felt sort of lonely loving films that people hated.
+suavesitoportu That's what I did. Internet's a dangerous place to being spoiled out. I'm watch I just watch the movie without having a clue of the story except for what the trailers showed me.
I agree Jeremy I feel episode 8 will be better, use the criminally underused characters more, flesh out the characters and their backstories, put meat on the trilogies bones and please more Oscar Issac he has the charisma to be the new cool cocky mofo in the trilogy. I am excited to see what comes next from Rian Johnson, Looper was awesome.
+Pennywise TheClown The plot leak i read turned out to be bogus, nothing more than fanboy guesswork some of which turned out to be true a lot didn't thank god.
Gary Wilson Oh. it lloks like i read the real one :( and i still havnt seen it yet. i know everything. oh well. hows kylo ren though? Im looking foward to him the most.
I wouldn’t really put it on Lucasfilm I’d put it on Disney. I don’t blame JJ Abrams or any of the actors I feel like they did the best they could with what they had. If there were 2movies left I feel like JJ could’ve made it a great trilogy
Nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans. Nobody can enjoy a great Star Wars movie when they see it...I literally can't even believe people when they say the Prequels are better than this. And for Rey's criticism...let me ask you guys, is there a set damn rule book for how you progress in the Force? The answer is no. Just because Rey progresses quickly doesn't make it a mistake.
"Just because Rey progresses quickly" there was no progression that's the problem, she went from not even knowing what the force was to mind controlling a storm trooper and out forcing Crylo Ren...
Its definitely dragged down by the other two movies. We were giving this movie the benefit of the doubt as essentially an intro movie for a great trilogy to come. This movie ended up being the peak of the sequel trilogy (the other two were absolutely AWFUL). And this movie isn't anywhere near good enough to be the peak.
This is my 2nd favourite Star Wars film behind Empire Strikes back. Do not hate on this, I do not have any nostalgia for the originals and the choice between Empire Strikes Back, The original and The Force Awakens was a difficult choice!

@asian dude TROS sucked.
TROS' limitations all stemmed from the debacle that was the last jedi
Watching this is like a middle aged woman going through a divorce watching her wedding on an old VHS.
😂😂
This was a time for star wars. TFA was great, rogue ones great, and I thought the future for stat wars would be so cool.
Sigh
Great comparison honestly

Episode 8 was such an important film to the sequel trilogy since it determined the route for the rest of the trilogy, why did they have to go the route they did...
@@MannyMarr except that episode ix did the opposite of following tlj's route
Even more so with his recent Acolyte reviews. Disney really did a number on Jeremy's love for Star Wars!
@@alias9786 except it had to follow it to a degree because it had to acknowledge things tlj did, and the rest of what it did was determined by trying to undo tlj. So pretty much the entire movie is still determined by what tlj did.

+Duel Screen Yep pretty much agree with everything you said on that entire thing. Yeah literally everything. Even your 9/10 I agree with.
If only you knew what would follow
Coming back after 3 years and reading this comment 😂😂 especially after Bob Iger and his book
Silly.
Joseph lecoure at last someone that understands. He clearly is going to have more character development in the next movie
+Michael Cruz Couldn't agree more!

I still think the force awakens was a decent movie, the lackluster continuation is what ruined this trilogy
Yup, force awakens left a LOT of potential for future films, but Disney fucked it up.
TFA was honestly pretty amazing in my opinion. They should have just let JJ direct the trilogy so it would have a cohesive story.
Truer words were never spoken.
Achintya Jain Disney never fucked up, Rian Johnson did
"Kylo Ren was a weak sissy"
Sigh...
KYLO REN is so much more powerful than Vader. Could Vader stop a laser bolt in mid-air and keep it there? Ha no!
+zamkowicz he is awesome, I loved his tantrums
+CptCanada Seems clear to me: he's going to seek revenge against Rey and later on we'll most likely see him redeem himself somehow.

juckoosaurus It's 2015, people become less grateful for what they get to experience over the years :c I personally enjoy each Episode in the series, I never understood why people disliked the Prequel to be honest and I don't think I'll understand why some people dislike Episode VII: The Force Awakens and before anyone tells me "opinions" no, those aren't the hateful comments I'm talking about, I mean the comments from people who dislike the prequels or latest movie just for something like a character or a different pace or similarities to it's origins. People asked for the movies to be closer to the origins, they got it and in my opinion it blew every other Episode out of the water :p
prink34320 well said :)
why cant all fans be like you
This was, for me, one of those times when you see a movie on the cinema and when it ends you realize: "Holy shit, I smiled through the whole thing!"
(Except for when you know who dies)
I saw it opening night and when *STAR WARS* popped up on screen with the star wars theme people cheered like crazy.

As a Star Wars Fan... I would give the movie "A good time no Alcohol required." There are just so many things I didn't like.
+Evil Power Such as?
+gingervampireFTW It would be totally spoilery to talk about here. Have you seen the movie yet? Okay below there might be a few spoilers read at your own risk:
The Biggest problem I had with the movie is the even Super duper death star laser.
The Map idea was just stupid.)
Leia should have been Max Von Sydow's character.
+Evil Power you must be so fun at parties
+Evil Power you just don't like it because they didn't do it the way you wanted? that Leia bullshit is your opinion.
+mattwmercer I am... I really am.
So if Force Awakens had been a literal copy/paste of New Hope but with new character names, would you be be saying 'pish off' to people who think it's too similar?
people are never happy star wars fans are hard to please they are never fucken happy because they are 40 yr old virgins that will never get laid
+Adam Sykes I think it was on point except they should not have added a 3rd Death Star.
star wars fans are never happy. they always fucken complain. i for one loved every second of the movie! :D people will always whine. get over it you fucken babies seriously stop eating dorritos in your moms basement people
There is a difference between trying to maintain a tone from a previous film as opposed to copying specific plot points from a previous film
+Matt Cameron MUSIC what music i hated it i couldn't even remember one song
+Matt Cameron The scene with Kylo Ren & Han. No music needed, and it built perfect tension.
Who's here after watching his Rise of Skywalker review?
ME, it really breaks my heart
Maybe 7/10.
+Alex Cross Yeah, Edge of Tomorrow is amazing.
i reall like star wars and me and my bro agree on it being average
it feels like a marvel movie which is a bad thing
the whole internet is just riding the hype train hard
+Alex Cross Die hard fan here and no they remade Episode IV to me. It's just proof the rest of the fanbase got too hypercritical of the series and now the studio is too scared to have an original plot.
+Alex Cross yeah I didn't like it.
+Alex Cross
Edge Of Tomorrow is boss. Much better than Star Wars Episode VII: The Reboot Awakens
I remember feeling like this, It seems like a hundred years ago now.
It's depressing that in just 4 years Disney managed to turn off so many fans to Star Wars.
Jeremy being one of them. It's sad :(
So happy, so enthusiastic. So full of life, so excited. And I was there with him, all the way. Jeremy...
.
...I'm sorry, little one.
Came back here after seeing his Rise of Skywalker Review. So young. So full of hope. Little did he know...
Generic Green Unit F for jeremy’s hope.
best thing in this movie: Rey
worst thing: Phasma
+Sir Artorias best written character: Kylo Ren
biggest surprise: general Hux
biggest letdown: not enough Phasma
agreed, she was amazing. I like Ren as well, his arc is going to be interesting.
+Zoltan1251 Kylo was amazing. He was everything I wanted Anakin to be in prequels, actually. exploring the Dark side & his powers. His story is going to be awesome across the trilogy. He's not even fully trained yet.
+Zoltan1251 General Hux's speech.....HOLY SHIT.
Best character;Rey Worst character; Kylo Ren aka tantrum throwing Vader fanboy.
I'm just revisiting this to see how far we have come....
Came back after watching the Rise Of Skywalker review. Life is funny.
so what your saying is Captain Phasma is the new Boba?
+The Croaker But not as cool yet
One Minute Movie Reviews Well I mean, we are comparing her to Boba Fett, the only one as cool is Darth Vader
Boba will never be replaced.
In my opinion, no, he was not like boba fett.
(vague spoilers)
It was basically A New Hope redone.
+LX at least it was done right
fro the msot part at least
+James Quinonez THANK YOU!
His ideology was awfully handled. Good character otherwise.
286mic my not forgiving point was more aimed at Disney changing directors. Unforgivable
@@286mic The problem was having no roadmap. JJ asked questions he didnt know the answers to.
Jeremy was so happy about Star Wars back then... this truly is a sad time
Hey Jeremy something funny I came across; I was watching the Star Wars Opening Day story on snapchat and two guys sang the words "Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars!" and I instantly knew they watched your channel xD good stuff
+Abel Garcia Ha. Nice!
Yo same
+boricua1151 Wtf that was the same for me in London xD
+TheHalomaster256 I believe it can be seen worldwide haha
+Abel Garcia the "Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars" jingle is from SNL in 1978. Jeremy didn't make it up.
i feel bad for the people who couldn't enjoy it.
This movie was near perfection to me
+Max Krampe Bro. When a movie is this hyped and this mainstreamed. It ain't ever gonna please everyone.
+Le Peel I watched the trailers , but I didn't give in the hype. Except I still didn't like it.
+Le Peel Agreed wholeheartedly. People judge shit and act so superior bur never have any good argument other than, "It was dumb" or "That was stupid."
Spoiler alert : Darth Vader was actually venom snake
So that means kylo ren is the real big boss/ the real darth vader?!? Mind=blown
+Sudarsan Ragavan Punished Vader - A fallen legend
That doesn't explain why mgsV sucked so damn hard.
Lol.
+Sudarsan Ragavan METAL GEAR?!
Damn
This is just sad now.
I loved this movie! My favourite Star Wars movie overall. Rey and Finn were SO good! Especially Rey! Daisy Ridley acted the hell outta Rey!
Yes she was awesome! And so cute too :)
+Rob Robberson exactly
Poe was my favourite, you could just tell he was having so much fun during this film
+Connor Tardis Daisy Ridley was the worst character in that movie
+Alberto Mora Daisy Ridley wasn't a character in that movie.
People are complaining this is a remake of 1977 original but when an original Star Wars Movie comes out the fans go mad. I don’t think anyone can enjoy a Star Wars movie anymore.
Its probably because that original Star Wars movie sucked if I had to guess. Most liked rogue one.
@@liamryan7239 A new hope doesn't suck dude. Are you serious? Have you not seen the last jedi or the prequels?
@@helenline1790 THE LAST JEDI IS THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE IN HISTORY!?!? what the fuck is wrong with you don't ever mention that fucking movie Rian Johnson ruined that movie he made the worst movie in history whoever says that movie is higher than a 0 out of 10 needs to be slapped across the mouth for speaking ignorance the force awakens is the best star wars movie you must be smoking rock salt you utter ignorance out of your flapping loose lips sinking ships ass nigga
@@helenline1790 and Rogue one is just as bad as the last jedi
@@yourmother4343 I'm dead XD 😂
The last jedi is a solid 7/10 for me :)
This film was excellent. All I'll say is (this isn't a spoiler) it leaves you with unanswered questions. But that's fine, because it's a trilogy, they will be answered, hopefully.
+Matt Eldridge honestly that was the best part for me
+Matt Eldridge They ended it setting up the story would continue, that is what they needed to!
+Matt Eldridge That's the thing that people tend to forget. Some bitching about it like dumbasses. This movie is never meant to be a standalone instead it's part of the trilogy from the get go.
+feyzal92 I think people have just forgotten that we're getting two more movies after this!
+Matt Eldridge daisy ridley was such a fucking badass, can't wait for Episode VIII
How I would rate the Star Wars movies as of November 2016:
The Phantom Menace - Good time if you're drunk
Attack of the Clones - Good time if you're drunk
Revenge of the Sith - Worth buying on Blu-Ray
A New Hope - Awesometacular
The Empire Strikes Back - Awesometacular
Return of the Jedi - Awesometacular
The Force Awakens - Awesometacular
The Force Awakens- Good time if you're drunk
Adrian SH nah man it's awesometacular.
Cole Soderstrom nah. One of the most unoriginal copy and paste movie.
Cole Soderstrom btw i can show you proof.
...you realize Force Awakens wasn't trying to be original right? It was trying to be a soft reboot and jumpstart a dead franchise by going back to its roots. That was Force Awakens' job. Not to be original. I guarantee you episode 8 and 9 will have "original stories". But that wasn't The Force Awaken's job. You dislike Force Awakens because you wanted it to be something, and the movie was trying to be something else entirely. Simple
This is by far the best Star Wars out of all of them.
CGI!
+JayDub eh .It was just a reboot of a new hope
+JayDub I thought it was great too! Not sure it's the best for me personally, but a great Star Wars movie without a doubt!
***** yes.It was still good. but disappointing
HowlingSphinx Probably a mix between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope
Has there ever been a movie without flaws?
Nope
Empire strikes back. Lol just kidding
Birdemic
+WH250398 a masterpiece
+The Whiteheart The Godfather
Here after The Rise of Skywalker review. How happy he was here...dark times have come.
Captain Phazma - In two scenes, does nothing: audience favorite.
Kinda like Boba Fett in that way.
+Cyphox
she also hast to duct tape her manhood to her thigh to pass as a woman
Yea she wears a two piece under there it gets hot as hell under there I mean did you see Fin he was sweating for like half the movie
+mshara1 It's because she had chromed armor. So... I guess... she was badass (somehow).
+Matthew Rubenstein boba actually did shit
The only thing i can really gripe about in regards to this movie, is how Rey just develops jedi abilities out of the blue, whereas it took like 3 movies for Luke to finally become a decent jedi.
***** Even then there was no way she could win a duel against a very well trained Sith lord. Then again, we're talking about the Sith lord who was having trouble in a lightsaber duel against an ex-stormtrooper. These are just minor nitpicks of mine though, because all in all it was a great movie.
***** He was still swinging that lightsaber really violently, but i guess you're right. Chewie's fucking awesome.
Cuz Ren said they SHE IS VERY STRONG WITH THE FORCE. It's like puberty, u can wake up one day and your ball drop..
***** I'll admit, that sounds pretty cool and innovative.
please tell me one of those powerful "yessss" scenes involved a charred blaster mark in the back of Jar Jar's head.
lmao Jar Jar is Non existant yo
+TheFeralBishop Oh that would be magnificent
+TheFeralBishop Most probably missed it or didn't get it as it was subtle BUT I believe there WAS a wink to the prequals and them being DESTROYED , I wont spoil it but when the planets are getting destroyed (aaah cmon you knew it was gunna happen some time with that huge cannon thing) one looks to be a representation of the prequals having a look and style of them and if Jar jar was hidden amongst the crown I wouldn't have been surprised
This is just sad now.
REALLY disappointed with Phasma. She did NOTHING. There was no reason she couldn't have been the one to wield the baton and duel Fin.
+Blake Bailey she will in the next film
+Justin Street What?? I thought she died in the trash can
+Eduards Verenkovs we don't know for certain (unless the cast list for 8 is already up and I haven't checked) since the death is not on screen but if they just threw her in a trash compactor and we never saw them turn it on she could have escaped
CanadianCaribou Nonsense! Trash is too deadly
+Eduards Verenkovs Tell me this, Did Han, Leia, Luke and Chewie die in the trash can? Didn't think so.
+Stephen Brockie
One thing I will say about the prequels is that they were much more impressive.
+Stephen Brockie "Lucas' creative genius."
HAH.
take a moment and look at the movies Lucas has directed and what he has contributed to cinema. yes, he is a creative genius.
Who's here after Jeremy's rant on Bob Iger?
Yep, here I am
*Who else came straight right here after Jeremy's 'George felt betrayed' video?* 😌
I did and I bet Jeremy feels awful.
Captain Phasma was wasted. Point. Blank. Period.
+The Dashboard I think that's kind a Star Wars tradition now. Tarkin, Boba, Jabba, Grievous, Maul, Jango, Dooku all suffer the same fate of being cool but getting punked out because they are henchmen.
The actress said she will play a bigger part next movie.

Looking back on this...Jeremy had a better story arc as a Star Wars fan than ANYONE in Disney's trilogy.
a more tragic one as well....
She was interesting and likeable and was also very mysterious as there are many unanswered questions which they will answer in the next movies.
mickey rock KYLO IS NOT A FUCKING SITH!! Understand the movie first, then complain
mickey rock She did never discover the dark side of the force, it is not called "dark force" btw.
The hate this movie is getting is unbelievable. You guys deserve a lifetime of Phantom Menace-quality movies.
the movie has an inexcuseable plot, and inexcusable plot holes, plus a whole lot of toher shit. watch a video where they bring up the infinite amount of stuff it does bad
+Carl Geijer so it's worse than the prequels 😂
What could of been 😔
the moment that I cried was as soon as that logo popped onto the screen and that classic star wars music played.
Such a great experience but my only wish is that they move away from some nostalgia stuff and get into newer things, and please (COULD BE SPOILER SO PLEASE DONT READ BELOW IF YOU HAVENT SEEN):
...and please keep Luke off the dark side lol, hoping they dont pull a "conflicted between the light and dark" on him since he pretty much totally rejected the dark side after ROTJ
Bruno Martinez Not sure if the word "fanboy" is supposed to be an insult, but sure I will say I am. You see, we have differing opinions my friend.
is really not, absent for 10 decades? you can rent them or buy them any time you want, really, and also, i said product placement because this movie has done something aweful, it took the products and insted of showing them in the movie, we have them outside! for godsake there are even star wars oranges, what the hell? it is not done well it is in deed a copy of something we all already saw, we need something new, fresh, not a retale, also, been a fanboy sure is cool, but please, be true to the movie, it was not that good, at all. just.... just look at kylo ren, he, he was shit, not the shit, but shit.
I thought they did a good job twisting old plot points so that they seemed fresh.
when this movie debut everybody liked it 2 months later everybody thinks is overrated
I still like it and know a lot of people who still do. Stop projecting your own opinions on to others.
Internet haters had to wait for it to be released on home video because they're allergic to fresh air
Spoiler Alert
The only problem I have in this movie the that they totally wasted Gwendoline Christie character.
I bought a Captain Phasma shirt. fuck this....
I feel so sorry for you
+Elnaz Vossoughi The trailers made her seem like a major character in the film when really she was just there waaaaay in the background. Talk about a wasted opportunity. Funny thing is my friend said Phasma is supposed to be a strong independent woman yet she was captured, succumbed to the demands of our heroes, and was thrown down the garbage chute.
Yeah really strong alright
+Elnaz Vossoughi But hey kylo ren was awesome right?
Three words: New Boba Fett (for better and for worse)
Jeremy should do a re-review on this movie how he interprets it now, kinda like what he did with scream 4
your "nostalgia" and "buy it on blu ray for objectivity and non star wars fans" comments at the end made me think that if you were a professor and this movie was your student, it got a 90 on the exam but because it was your favorite student you just gave it a 100.
Jack Sheppard he says that purely for nostalgia he gives it the best rating, but rating it objectively he'd give it the second highest rating.
Yes which makes sense
Jack Sheppard which parallels my OP.
+Xross SweatPantz actually he said that because of all the references he found it more enjoyable but a non fan wouldn't hence they'd like it a bit less.
Come on guys, let's make this Jeremy's most watched video!!!
It was good, but four things annoyed me:
+Ben Hamilton 2. Well Rey was good with spear so she could be good with lightsaber i guess.
She lived by herself and had to take care of herself all these years. Probably learned from fighting other inhabitants of her planet.
Ren was a weakling in the end bc he got shot in the stomach
+Ben Hamilton
Chewie shot Ren, that's why he was weak.
+Ben Hamilton To answer 3. You do know he got injured right? Did you not see that?
This is like watching a video "taken moments before disaster." Hope we can wash our hands of this trilogy and move on.
Take me back to 2015 when the hype for this film and the trilogy as a whole was through the roof. Couldn't move for fan theories, analysis and just general excitement. Great times, shame they didn't last...
Am I the only one who thought that Snoke was a bit disappointing?
+Dapper Disrespectful well that is like saying the emperor was disappointing in ESB. you still have 2 movies to go. you don't want everything in this one film
Snoke was a bit disappointing. I think we'll see more if him in part VIII. He is definitely Darth Plagieus I think.
+8th wonder of the world agreed. The Emperor was barely in OT until Jedi. Just a guy in background pulling the strings, just like Snoke.
+Dapper Disrespectful Not disappointing, but I hated how he was like a giant. That makes it super unnatural, especially since we all know Rey/Finn will end up having to kill him in episode IX
Isaac Casey he was only a giant hologram just like Emperor Palps was......he was a giant hologram head!
Man watching this post last Jed is tough. You were talking about how we have so many unanswered questions. Well we still do.
Disney is going to keep expanding the Star Wars universe for at least the next decade so it's reasonable to understand why they would want to play it safe with the first film.
Alienated But it's just sad that they demolished everything in the prequels (not the bad acting and all that but the planets, world in those movies).
This is sad now.
Oof. This comment didn’t age well
Love coming back and revisiting these videos. Reliving the good times. Before the dark ages
For anyone wondering. He gave it good time no alcohol required.
No he didn't
Sshhh. I wanna see some fanboys rage dammit. Haha
your dumb it was an awesometacular
He gave it an Awesometacular.
+Cesar Munoz you're
I friend of mine says "Man i hate SW7, it has alot of humour, SW have never had so much humour" Like that is a complaint...
WTF the originals had so many jokes
Here is one. Star wars force awakens= A new hope with small bits of the other episodes
What jokes?
I never said jokes. I said humour.
Alfie871 sorry. I meant what humour?
I don't understand how people can NOT like this movie
Cuz JJ Abrams is a hack.
it's nice that I got to find a group of people writing the comments that loved the force awakens, It's been hard Loving X-men Apocalypse and Suicide Squad when I keep hearing people hating on the films. I felt sort of lonely loving films that people hated.
There's a lightsaber fight?! THANKS FOR THE SPOILER JAHNS! Gawd.
It was in the trailer lmao
I know I was being sarcastic lol
+Cesar Galvez lol
People like you is why I stayed off the internet the last few days before watching it
+suavesitoportu That's what I did. Internet's a dangerous place to being spoiled out. I'm watch I just watch the movie without having a clue of the story except for what the trailers showed me.
This nigga
I agree Jeremy I feel episode 8 will be better, use the criminally underused characters more, flesh out the characters and their backstories, put meat on the trilogies bones and please more Oscar Issac he has the charisma to be the new cool cocky mofo in the trilogy. I am excited to see what comes next from Rian Johnson, Looper was awesome.
+Gary Wilson (scalliwagg) I think I read you comment before saying you read the entire plot leak and If it came true JJ would become Jar Jar Abrams.
+Gary Wilson (scalliwagg) I agree we need more poe! *Kylo ren staring while silent*
Poe: Oh, am I supposed to talk first or you?
This is extremely sad to watch now.
You looked so happy. I am sorry that Lucasfilm murdered your innocence.
@@kurthamilton7744 KK runs Lucasfilm. She gets the blame. I doubt Iger is forcing his agenda into the movies.
I wouldn’t really put it on Lucasfilm I’d put it on Disney. I don’t blame JJ Abrams or any of the actors I feel like they did the best they could with what they had. If there were 2movies left I feel like JJ could’ve made it a great trilogy
*Disney
@@kennethha416 Disney just writes the checks. It is Lucasfilm that comes up with the bullshit.
@@deathsdoor07 ah got it
Nobody hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.
"Just because Rey progresses quickly" there was no progression that's the problem, she went from not even knowing what the force was to mind controlling a storm trooper and out forcing Crylo Ren...
watching this breaks my heart
Sort of like Anakin to Paddame
It’s crazy how much people loved this movie back in 2015. Over 4 years later most people suddenly say it’s terrible.
Yeah, this movie is definitely the biggest example of movies that went from being loved to hated
It makes me sad 😢 the film is fine, but the trilogy as a whole is bad. What we can’t wait to see is new management for lucasfilm
This is my 2nd favourite Star Wars film behind Empire Strikes back. Do not hate on this, I do not have any nostalgia for the originals and the choice between Empire Strikes Back, The original and The Force Awakens was a difficult choice!
