This looks so cool! Can't wait for AI-adversary village construction to come along to act as a satisfying, variable limiter of the progress and military might of the Baron & future friends.
When I first really played, the Baron taking territories was this motivating factor for progressing my village, but I realized how quickly he would take the almost all the territories on the map, meaning the mechanic of claiming territories with influence ceased to exist unless I "got gud" and "elite-stratted" my playthrough to rapidly progress, which isn't necessarily how I wanted to play, as I very much like to take my time and tell a story. Straight nerfing the speed the Baron claims territories feels like it would risk making him a pushover, which is why I really like the idea of him having to take care of villagers as well, weathering the same conditions & resource variability as me.
Honestly, I'd be happy if AI used a catalogue of preset village designs for each tile organized into different categories based on their resource priorities. The AI player mixing and matching them based on their needs. So if they really needed food, a farming village layout would be selected. The road layout encircling large flat spaces that proceduraly fill with fields based on the terrains fertility.
I absolutely love this game! Just started playing it again over the holidays not knowing there was an update to come. Cant wait to jump in, especially the maps got me super excited. What I love most about the game is the Artstyle, it is incrediblely gorgeous and I often just sit back and watch my bustling village in awe. What I really wish for in the future would be more control over start parameters. I would love to be able to set which resourceses (or lack of them) are on my starting tile. When you want to try to build your village around the export of weapons, for example, you often need to reroll the start multiple times until you get a rich iron deposit. That would be my big wish for the future but I have to say that Im really impressed by the game and having so much fun playing it.
It's already kinda fixed.. Allocation of resources isn't random anymore but distributed from a finite list, so there aren't any rolls with zero rich deposits. I didn't test it myself, yet, but it's mentioned in the patch notes, especially regarding your reroll thing
This is game of the year for me as well, I absolutely adore it! Personally, my favorite part is the no combat functionality. Combat just isn't my thing so I deeply appreciate the ability to play without it and not feel like I'm missing half the content. My hope for the future is more map customizations! I'd love the ability to choose your starting map and resources. And a more flushed out bartering system between regions so I don't accidentally give away all my flour😅! But honestly, I'm excited about any new content! I can't wait to see what the game will look like this time next year!
Same! I really love it
What I like the most is the graphics. I like to look at it more then anything. So thank you for making video's about it ☺
It's such a wonderful looking game. Definitely a highlight of unreal engine
Sounds like the Manor Lords is on track to becoming a good game
A very very positive note of 2024
What’s the games discord? I wanna track the game’s progress
For the algorithm
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Not really an update, but open beta for trying and testing. Very buggy, with some poor and unbalanced mechanics (trade…omg), yet a beautiful and enjoyable game anyway. Great potential.
i mean i said it was in beta :) but you´re right, trade was kinda broken for me this time as well!
