Joey Tribbiani: [Joey and Chandler are laughing at Ross' changes to the answering machine] You're fake laughing too, right? Chandler Bing: Only the tears are real.
I have a golden dream: For one week, the show's name changes to Andy. Andy hosts. Conan is mysteriously absent. When Conan returns, this week is neither explained or acknowledged.
No offence... But I've read all the memoirs, and by far "fake laughter, real tears" is the best. "Is murder legal yet" is pretty good but lacks the emotional punch the "fake laughter..." had, and it focuses too much on his anger. But I get where your from.
He's the best. I love the bit when Conan's giving staff performance reviews around the workplace. When he comes to Andy's office, Andy doesn't even turn his head to look at him and just yells "GET OUT!".
+Vorname Nachname Looked up his net worth.. should be around 15 mil! not bad for a sidekick if you ask me. But then again it could be more or less.. but I bet he doesn't need more payment.
Andy Richter volume one: The Phantom Sidekick Andy Richter volume two: Attack of the Sidekick Andy Richter volume three: Revenge of the Sidekick Andy Richter volume four: A New Sidekick Andy Richter volume five: The Sidekick Strikes Back Andy Richter volume six: Return of the Sidekick Andy Richter volume seven: The Sidekick Awakens
My Lectern My Prison is a criminally underrated volume of the 18 part Epic. The absolute dichotomy between achieving one's dreams and aspirations while simultaneously suffering in agony is elegantly captured in the humorous, cheeky, classic Richterian style prose.
How would you contrast Andy's growth with his first volume in the his 18 part opus and the last one in his series. As you mentioned, "struggling with the absolute dichotomy," he begins to lose his Herculean battle between his family and his work with "dum-dum." You can sense the righteous anger, the frustration with having to laugh at his bosses' so called sense of humor . . . and sadly the loss of his humanity and self respect. Truly, a saga that refocuses man's duality between his duty and his sense of humor. One can only imagine the emotional damage that Andy went through . . . and possibly would still be going through if Conan's show hadn't been suspended.
honestly at the beginning i thought this was a decently funny sketch for conan standards but kind of thought it would lose its legs, but then they really took this to an unexpected place, with the covers being closer and closer, and it blew me away. i think this will go down as a classic conan sketch. plus the crowd at the end is great.
+NARKISDUDE You have to at least read the first 4 or you will be totally lost on number 9. Gotta keep up with the Andy Richter lore. Also 5 is easily the best.
+HAWXPRIDE94 Gotta disagree. 11th is my all time favorite. Sure, it's rough around the edges, but everything just coalesces so perfectly as if precariously balanced on a needle-thin beam across the galaxy.
Someone had to be sitting in the room full of writers and stated, "How about we use the same stock Picture of Andy Pissed off and it just keeps zooming in with each new book." And the rest is History. xxD
This is why Andy is just so great, what a legend, he's so funny, from Benny Bang in that Mary-Kate & Ashley film 'New York Minute' to being a wonderful sidekick, would love more Andy involvement
the only talk show side kick...there is no one else...and guilemero or whatever his name is might as well not exist, adds nothing to kimmel who already kind of sucks on his own
Andy Richter's later book naming sense is so unconventional and provocative but also innovative and candid that it inspired a great change in the Japanese light novel industry. Thanks to Andy, modern Japanese light novels have brilliant titles like "My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected", "Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" and "I'm A High School Boy And A Best-Selling Light Novel Author Strangled By My Female Junior Who's A Voice Actress". To be able to influence a culture to such a degree, calling Andy Richter underrated is an understatement.
The zooming in of the eye is just insane. I'm so glad I was actually looking at my phone while listening to this sketch while I wait for my car to charge, otherwise I would have missed it.
Andy is genuinely so gud like he even adlivbed whrn he kinda stuttured at one point Like srsly conan being the best host has the best side kick What a powerful duo
A+ on the zoom in gag!
WTBGold i agree! Also why no replies? Lol
ikr
I didn't notice it till now!
I’m annoyed I didn’t see it till the very end. Would have enjoyed it even more bu can only watch something like this once!
fake laughter, real tears is the best from that writers room session
Joey Tribbiani: [Joey and Chandler are laughing at Ross' changes to the answering machine] You're fake laughing too, right?
Chandler Bing: Only the tears are real.
I like Stewing in the Shadows
Probably the writer is Andy
@@baiwatch1 Agreed, Stewing in the Shadows was my favourite title
I love that the cover was just the same picture that got more and more zoomed in with each book.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that!
The1AndOnlyGoldenboy lmao...took me a minute to notice that haha
*Richter intensifies*
The1AndOnlyGoldenboy Me too. Lol😂😂😂😂, I love to read memoirs.
The1AndOnlyGoldenboy I wonder how zoomed the next one will be.
I have a golden dream: For one week, the show's name changes to Andy. Andy hosts. Conan is mysteriously absent. When Conan returns, this week is neither explained or acknowledged.
+maX Volnutt i like how you think!!
yes yes Conan are u listening.
yes yes Conan are u listening.
+maX Volnutt what if Andy turns out to be the best talk show host of the 21st century? they'll have to fire Conan, hence it'll never happen.
or Conan becomes Andy's sidekick?
I already read "Is murder legal yet?", and it's so touching. Best piece of literature i've ever read.
No offence... But I've read all the memoirs, and by far "fake laughter, real tears" is the best. "Is murder legal yet" is pretty good but lacks the emotional punch the "fake laughter..." had, and it focuses too much on his anger. But I get where your from.
Really, the best one is "That's me in the Corner
There's something really underrated about My Lectern, My Prison
Wait what....those books are real?
Kanishk Anand Sharma oh baby
I'm looking forward to vol. 19: To kill a mocking boss
That One Person personally, i hope that he gets my letter and decides to call it, "life with a giant ginger"
Conan's Book: Ginger Snaps
Andy needs to get into Conan’s skin and walk around in it to get his perspective on things.
By then we’ll be literally inside Andy’s eyeball.
That's a good one😂😂
He's the best. I love the bit when Conan's giving staff performance reviews around the workplace. When he comes to Andy's office, Andy doesn't even turn his head to look at him and just yells "GET OUT!".
+PropaneWP "GET THE CHAIR!"
THE CHAIR!
You gotta admit, Andy is very funny and talented :)
Whoa! you watch youtube videos! i thought you only make them!
xD love your animations bro, especially metal gear
+agh8710 haha no man, I'm always "watching" with my peripheral vision a ton of videos while I'm animating ;) glad you liked the metal gear parody.
+Bitter Strike! Cartoons any upcoming parodies in the next few months?
+agh8710 Get ready for Doom this June ;)

Andy richter won Nobel prize for literature
18 times!
@@tinem1753 In a row!
Am sure he was only a nominee
He killed all the other nominees
Andy and Conan have such an amazing chemistry, they're awesome!!!
''Forcing the laugh, and hiding the gin bottle'' - I think that's my favorite :D
Jimmy Darmody the one with murder and curious is hilarious too 😂
The Wild One it's the realist
I actually looked up if Andy had a memoir in reality.
I would buy it right away.
I love Andy.
+Vorname Nachname Looked up his net worth.. should be around 15 mil! not bad for a sidekick if you ask me. But then again it could be more or less.. but I bet he doesn't need more payment.
Same lol!!
The picture getting bigger, just made me happy.

Well, in all honesty, Andy DOES bail Conan out sometimes and when he does it's always golden. =)

I love how you can hear Conan laughing with the crowd.
Andy face at the book cover is getting closer and closer. LOL
+stanley3111 Yup, we need a GIF of that…

What?! Never noticed
Sep lol 😂🤣😂
i only realised that when the covers of his memoirs starting to become his entire face
@@mbirth That second one is beautiful
The writing's hilarious...the delivery even better!
My favorite one was " That's me in the corner."
I love Andy! this was hysterical XD
This was their best sketch in a while. Great job, Conan and Andy.
I love how andy's face gets more and more zoomed in on the books😂
I only read 6 of them. pretty good stuff.
+NARKISDUDE You have to at least read the first 4 or you will be totally lost on number 9. Gotta keep up with the Andy Richter lore. Also 5 is easily the best.

+HAWXPRIDE94 5 was good until half way through. I enjoyed 3, 4 and 8 the most. Forget about 7! That one was a waste in my opinion.
OMG I LOVE ANDYY
Caps bitch.
I like that the cover photo zooms deeper and deeper with each book.
I love how each one zooms in tighter.
Someone had to be sitting in the room full of writers and stated, "How about we use the same stock Picture of Andy Pissed off and it just keeps zooming in with each new book." And the rest is History. xxD
this is the best talk show of all time
I love the fact that all of those books were so thick!!!
This is why Andy is just so great, what a legend, he's so funny, from Benny Bang in that Mary-Kate & Ashley film 'New York Minute' to being a wonderful sidekick, would love more Andy involvement
Andy plays a very important role in comedy. I appreciate having him on the show alot!
I was drinking tea. it's everywhere now. :(
i love it how he zooms in each time on his face in each book
i love how the picture of him gets closer and closer.
The way the books covers gets closer to angry Andy's face.
more and more closeup shot of his eyes made it even better.
Andy and Conan and still the best late night pair ever.
2020 YES!!! and beyond.
It would have been funny if the last one was something that had nothing to do with being a sidekick
Andy Walsh
Light Cooking with Andy
i love how each picture is the same its just zoomed in lol
My favourite Conan and Andy Sketch. Real tears.... Of laughter.
Andy is pretty much the best talk show side kick.
the only talk show side kick...there is no one else...and guilemero or whatever his name is might as well not exist, adds nothing to kimmel who already kind of sucks on his own
Hannibal buress too
i love it when conan's sidekick yells really hard
Lol Andy is bigger on each book
really now
I have not noticed that
This was so AWESOME! I'm laughing in tears!!!
Fake laughter, real tears.
Didn't realize it was the same picture zooming in until the eye cover
+Sentimental Petrichor me neither
+Sentimental Petrichor That was the first thing I noticed.
Years later and “20 Feet From Dumdum” still makes me laugh.

Truly one of the authors of all time
Andy is brilliant! I wonder if he writes his own sketches....
+Joe Burden I hope he does, he's such a comedic genius compared to DumDum's
I think he does sometimes but this one smells of writers room with everyone pitching a title or 2 and using the best ones.
I bet he does.
The zooming in of the eye is just insane. I'm so glad I was actually looking at my phone while listening to this sketch while I wait for my car to charge, otherwise I would have missed it.
Loved it all...my top three in order
2:29 >> *GOLD*
1:57 >> _Silver_
1:04 >> _Bronze_
My favorite Andy sketch of all time...just a perfect encapsulation of all his rage and angst XD
This is one of their best skits. One can only imagine how Andrew has had to sublimate his true personae.
LMAO!😂😂😂The fact Andy’s face on the book cover kept getting closer was comedy gold! Brilliant!
This bit never gets old! The escalating anger really sells it!
for me it's the zooming in of the stupid picture on the books
The title "Fake Laughter, Real Tears" invoked real laughter from me!
Andy is one of the funniest guys out there and people seem to forget about him a lot, myself included.
I love the zooming cover, but I love that the books are getting thicker more!
They get thicker with Andy's increasing despair, frustration, pain and rage!!
Andy revealed in a survey what his memoir is going to be called after this show ended and I can't wait for it to come out.
1993 is when I started watching, and I gotta say, on average, Andy has always been the best part of it.
Volume 19: 101 Uses For A Dead Conan.
Volume 21: Suffering at the hands of Conan the Barbarian.
Steve27775 never thought a dead Conan would be that useful
and then the picture is his pupil
sidekicked to the curb changed my life.
the 8th book is the best!!
***** all of them. twice
How the cover pictures keep zooming in.
Love these guys
“THERE’S ELEVEN MORE!!”
Now I wanna read all 18 of Andy Richter’s memoirs!! 😹😹
I liked to watch Conans talk show when I lived in the US
looked at some of these clips now reminiscing.
They are so so
the way Andy pronounces and talks (i don't know the right word for it) makes this funny. really talented guy.
For some reason my favorite is “That’s me in the corner”
''Hiding the Gin bottle'' lmao
Andy rarely says anything and yet you immediately notice him when he does. That's how awesome he is.
“Forcing the Laugh, Hiding the Gin bottle” was the best
It's brilliant that the covers are zooming in
I like how it's always the same photo, just zoomed in a little more. I didn't even realize that was a gag until the 20 feet from dumb-dumb one! 😆
Fake laughter, real tears lol. it's gold!
I love how it zooms in and in and in
Andy’s Face Just Makes Me Laugh
I love that they used the same picture but just gradually zoomed in on it for every memoir. Well done
I hope they make 19 movies out of these! :D
+JEEZ X yeah, make it cinematic universe
+JEEZ X 19 movies and a season
Andy seems like the best person to just kick it back and chill with.
lol.. andy is the best sidekick ever..
The Best Part is Andy's cover Photograph actually fits every Memoir! Andy is such a Treasure! Cheers From Conan, Ohio
Each one of those ponderous tome consisted of one word for each page.
The fact that each volume zooms in on his face.
Andy richter is genius lol
Andy and conan bits are my favorite part of the show
The fact that from each cover the photo goes closer and closer till its only his eye its very very funny. LOL
At the end, Conan's face was like, you don't work with me pal, you work FOR me.
Andy is genuinely so gud like he even adlivbed whrn he kinda stuttured at one point
Like srsly conan being the best host has the best side kick
What a powerful duo
2:18 Andy was hesistant to show the book initially 😂😂😂
I love the humor in Conan's show.
This bit is the writers room just pitching Andy’s memoir titles
My favorite part is that each book cover is just a closer shot of one picture
My favorite book of his is one with the dragons and the thrones and his character is a eunuch.
+Scubasteve Scribblez the bible
+Kory Neff No, that's the Fairytale book.
"There's Eleven More!" comedy gold @ 1:35 because they put it right between the 2 best titles.
I want to see the ones from all his brothers
Andy was is and ALWAYS will be the GREATEST late night show sidekick
