Andrés du Bouchet is his name. He was also in an episode of Bob's Burgers. I always keep hoping he gets more performing roles outside of Conan, but maybe he's not as passionate or comfortable acting as he is writing.
I was gonna say the same thing. I need him to hate Andy for something absolutely ridiculous. Like maybe Andy is the reason for such a terrible nut spoon?
I feel like they were talking about how easy it was to come up with material and and argument ensued and some writer leaned over the conference table and grabbed the nut spoon and was like, oh yeah, well I bet you can't come up with something funny about this right here!
What you need to understand is that the idea of a single spoon designated as "the nut spoon" is a new, mostly American invention, and has no place in proper nut spoon science. The reality that the Italians not only discovered but perfected centuries ago, is that a spoon that could be used for an almond should be very shallow and wide, as, of course you know, an almond will not roll very much, at least not if it's a quality European almond. American almonds are often undersized and overly-round and may roll, but you really should only be eating European almonds. Now, for something like a macadamia nut, the spoon should be much, much deeper so as to discourage any rolling of the nut. That's why I have a wide variety of nut spoons, all handcrafted by the best nut spoon artisans in Tuscany, which I often visit whenever- (gets stabbed)
When Conan was screwed over on the Tonight Show, he covered the cost of all his employees bills and paid them from his own pocket. We know he has money, but he just did the right thing because he brought his whole crew who was willing to move to LA from New York to work for him. That's class.
That was not entirely as it happened given that at the time The Tonight Show was taped in LA and it was Fallon who brought it to NYC. What did happen is he demanded NBC to bring his entire crew to LA when he took over the tonight show (his assistant at the time declined to move and that's how we were gifted with Sona!) And he also paid for them while the forced hiatus was up.
Only people disliking this video have never experienced the euphoria of eating multiple nuts at the same time, all while maintaining a healthy level of sanitation and safety.

@@rushe-1 No other show involves the staff more than Conan's. This may be lame to many today but it will be golden after many years have passed. Conan and crew will be missed.
1/3 bag = roughly 1 plate/almonds, 1 bag = 5 dollars, 200•5=1000, theyre using 200 bags or 600 plates per day, about 1 plate per minute if theyre working 10 hour shifts. Wow.
I honestly think this is one of the best, most committed sketches I’ve seen from late night television. I get that it doesn’t appeal to everyone’s sense of humor, but I come back again and again... Peak comedy right here 😂

The sketch is surprisingly meta. He says that he put out a complaint box to keep his staff members happy, and if you watch the Nut Spoon Scrap, it sounds like Conan only agreed to finally do the sketch to keep his writers happy.
3:46 they had to use a different camera to capture the particular shape of the nut spoon. This just shows how serious the issue is and how important it is for everyone else to be aware of it.
This is 100% legit. I set up a ice cream buffet at work and we had a bowl for shaved almonds and some pecans (we got a lil fancy). We used used those foam bowls to store them and left a regular plastic spoon in there. I came later on an there were nuts everywhere! I doubt anyone actually ate any. This story hits me right in the heart
Conan is so good about using his cast and crew for hilarity! This is one of the things I’ll miss the most 😢 I rarely watch the celebrity interviews but I love watching them goof around like this
4:40 That moment at the end of that pointless back and forth with the cameraman where he just responds "Yeah" and intentionally drops any remaining momentum it had. Beautiful.
I love Conan, somehow missed this sketch. Then I heard Carl Reiner say how much he loved this sketch, had to watch it. He's right. It's absolutely great.
Quick fact: The actor in this skit, Andres Du Bouchet, also owns the Lego millennium falcon that Harrison Ford destroyed (it was not Jordan's). He said he was honored to have it destroyed by Han Solo himself.

Ahhh i needed to see this one again. One of my favorite sketches of all time. My favorite parts are when they are holding Tony back when he gets angry then he goes right back to a huge grin and glean in his eyes when resuming talking about the beloved nut spoon. Also when the guy in the back gets the record of 3 and they pan out and there is like 5 times as many nuts on the table that was on the original plate lol. This is comedic gold.

We need more episodes of Tony’s incredible hate towards Andy. That transition from cool, calm and collected to psychopath was gold.
Have a backstory of why he hates Andy. Like Andy took the last blue berry muffin from craft service or stole his gift during Yankee swap at Christmas.
and the transition from anger back to calm and smile again...
I was gonna say the same thing. I need him to hate Andy for something absolutely ridiculous. Like maybe Andy is the reason for such a terrible nut spoon?
It's the transition back that's the funny part.
Uh, that's "collected" - not "collective". Are you the type who writes "for all intense and porpoises" too?
