- Old Volkswagen Beetles as rally cars. Pure engine sound from these rear mounted engines. These old Volkswagen Bugs are still relativly common in the Swedish rally forests.
Many of us can relate to the VW Bug one way or another. As a lot of Brazilian people have called it, the Volkswagen Fusca. This is truely a car across generations.
The second video in this series, published exactly One year after the first video in the series, as the first one was appreciated by many, I decided to go through my archives again and combine the new footage with older footage that was not used in the first video. Hmmm... I have a hard time trying to figure out wether it is actually rebuilt & retuned beetle engines, or if they're just swapped to a Volvo red block.
Boxer vw ou Subaru?
From the answer I was given, these beetles belong to a Rally class called "Appendix K" Which is basically classic cars tuned with whatever was available at the time then.
So... Yeah, they would actually use VW Boxers togheter with some sharper camshafts and other old parts.
