Brilliant man , maybe allowing him to speak in russian/hebrew would be better ,so we could all enjoy a more well formulated thoughts, although i still feel as if i understood almost everything he said and have wanted to say. Thanks for brining him once again! Hoover institution is an enormous treasure

Great interview! I think Mr. Sharansky has some very critical facts incorrect, and the part where he does the word salad about what America gains from being the main ally to Israel, who created Hezbollah and Hamas, and the need for violence to push a leftist agenda in the U.S. is absolutely detached from reality. All that being said I think Mr. Sharansky is a remarkable human being, and a testament to the human spirit. It's important in times like this to remember that criticizing a country's government, and or military, is not the same as criticizing the people of that country or faith. I've traveled all over and for the most part people are simply people everywhere you go. It's important to have honest discussions like this, while I don't agree with him on several points, I can still take away the points I do agree on without malice towards the man and wish more people would do the same. We don't all have to support Israel, that doesn't equal hate; it's simply a difference of opinion. I support humans not governments, because everyone has a story to tell. Governments just lie, steal, and kill because that is all they are proficient at.

Iran has been two weeks away from nuclear weapons for 30 years.
This man makes rationale for America supporting Israel seem fanatical and incomprehensible. I fear that this interview may have a paradox effect.

When the discussion begins with a false assumption about October 7th, we will not learn much from the discussion. Love Peter Robinson and I am sure Mr. Sharansky is a well-meaning man who has suffered a great deal. We must examine October 7th with a more critical eye first.

Maybe it is difficult to give sincerely advice to Israel's politicians, but it seems to me we have to be above the emotional contradiction between hate and love to Jews. The first of all it is obvious that terrorism and genocide has a very contagious feature and Israel's politicians must understand that the reaction on the act of terrorism and genocide can't be the same kind. You have a strong state, a powerful allies and brave nation, that's why your answer, reaction on the threats and challenges must be reasonable, not emotional, wise and not only cunning.

I was sceptical at first, but have reached the horrifying conclusion that Israel is indeed committing genocide. This Russian has no place in displacing the Palestinians from their homeland

Perhaps the Jewish people -- whom I've encountered from elementary school to college and ultimately during my years in New York Publishing -- may have to be resigned to literal eternal diligence. I wish it was not so, but I believe it is.

Useless interview, no concrete points and full of old sad political cliches. They guy doesn't even realistically speak English . I'm know thinking how much did he pay to get interviewed?

Under US law it is illegal to provide weapons to a country found to be in violation of International Humanitarian Law and the Leahy Act.

You’re right. That proves Israel has not been found to be in violation.

You must be referring to the UK when they applied "The Increment" to the troubles in Northern Ireland. If not the UK, then you must be referring to the US selling Blackhawk helicopters to China in the 80s. If not China, then you must be referring to the US building an M1 tank factory in Egypt while they violated humanitarian laws against Coptic Christians. If not Egypt, then you must be referring to the TOW missiles that the US sold to Iran in the 80s. If not Iran, then you must be referring to the billions in weapons that the US gifted to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
How much more ridicule would you like, Sir?
