- The end of August brings with it sunshine, rain and mods of course! Each year, mods are back in town, and Latest TV follows them to all the mod hotspots to reveal music, art, culture and scooters, lots of them!

Let's face it Brighton has got history but the history of Brighton Is the maybank holiday !IOW has the numbers and the history and yes you get a wide mix of scooter boys skins casuals mods but with it now being spread over Sandown Shanklin ryde there's more than enough venue's for everyone to enjoy even 😉 the trippers that get bang on it at .

The scene unfortunately has been overrun with scomadi riding comedy mods - royal alloy scooters will now only make the scene even more of a circus. Shame, loved '79 in London hunting out original clothes and music. One visit to Ebay and you can now buy 'instant mod'.
You need to be at least 75/6 years old to be an original.... no shame for a younger generation joining in the fun though...

It's great that the mod scene is still here but unfortunately it's getting watered down. Too many modern scooters and non mod clothing. How about scooter clubs for only mods? I'd sooner ride with ten mods than a thousand non mods

We were there in 64, albeit i was in my Mini, all me mates were down on their scooters, glad i parked well away from the trouble, me mate Vic who had parked his brand new SX or was it an LI on the front returned find it had been stolen, he never saw the going of it poor bugger,
For all us baby boomers whether you were a Mod or a Rocker these were great days. The establishment vilified us all simple because we didn't want to be clones of our parents...

It was 60 years ago......its all nostalgia now...its nice that it dosent just die...nobody takes it seriously we all know what it was about...it was just a phase. They went through...phases never get forgotten...

Scooters lol some of us remember the Mods and what is a Mod. They were the first of the winey teenagers and more concerned about image, clothes, money, alcohol and the EU and were the chavs of 1960.. Chavs and mods are the same in many cases, image, clothes, money, alcohol and EU and a completely different out look. Rockers were all about british bikes, coffee, racing and rock and roll and more importantly kept British traditions. Chavs and mods is where England went totally wrong..... kids after 1969 became weak, wimpy, incompetent, lazy, moanie and self obsessed Just as the chavy kids of 90s and today.. Mods as parents is why we have messed up kids today, teaching there kids to be focused on image, money, clothes and easy life. Lucky my parents were rockers lol

@@rogercooper4087 i do.. mods are not bikers... Mods were only interested in clothes, money, looks and alcohol. chavs are only interested in drugs, alcohol, looks, clothes and also ride scooters... Rockers are bikers who were interested in British traditions, motorcycles, speed and adrenaline, and.... coffee. . Mods like chavs had a completely different outlook to British traditions and motorcycles.... no comparisons between them.. Mods and Chavs however do have alot of comparisons...
Chavs where tracksuit s and baseball caps .mods had tailor made clothes alot of difference

To be a mod was expensive had to have a good job .I was a mod I lived the life .what did rockers have bikes that's it .chavs are totally different. To compare the 2 is ridiculous. I did not buy tailored suits to lay on the beach .I wore them to clubs .mod was the smartest way of life followed by the original casuals .rockers ha ha ha won't even go there @@mandyjones8443
