Fixing our Keel to Hull Joint | Smile Repair

- C&C sailboats are known for their "smile". The name comes from the crack where the hull and keel connects at the front. It eventually separates leaving you with a beautiful smile to fix. With not enough time on our hands we had to do a quick fix which will need to be addressed later.
If you like what you see don't forget to give us the thumbs up!

I don't envy you doing that job, Cory! 😂🤣
I remember those days didn't really understand then but do now. My main job was watching the kids and enjoying my time with them getting to know them again 😘⛵️🏖👨👩👧👦❤️💗💗
Sometimes all we need is just an extra hand to watch Coral and Kai. Thanks again
@WildlyIntrepid totally my pleasure it was a pure joy watching them with so many trait probably from both of you. Brings me back to the day of joy. Children are so innocent 👨👩👧👦❤️💗💗
Quick hint on resin to hardner ratio: Ounces of product in resin can divided by ounces of product in hardner can. Replace Ounces with whatever unit of measure happens to be used on the can. Have a good one.
At the time I was just wondering why the ratio wasn't marked but when editing I came to that conclusion as well. Thanks for the tip.
Well you seem like a pro with keel smiles. I had no issues with your last job on Wildly Intrepid!!!!!
Really happy to hear that it's still holding
I wrapped my keel with 9 oz uni-directional glass. ... So, I watch one minute of your video. As soon as you said 4200 I turned it off. I guess it's your keel, you do it any way you want.
As I said 4200 was only part of the seal. As the job needed to be done properly in the future. If using 5200 I would never get it out when I need to reseal it. I've done with before and have had no issues. I'm not looking to hold the keel on with an adhesive. I want to seal it.For now the chopped strand and filler keeps it sealed and the 4200 is for a little flexibility. You do you but personally I hate 5200 unless I never ever want to remove it all.
