From the producer of "How To Take A Bath". A cinematic masterpiece in which John Barrymore's wife Elaine Barrie explains how to properly brush your teeth... Good stuff!
This was scripted as a possession ep but that was years and years ago and the planned new trilogy fell through so I'm gonna do them as regular eps. Woulda been fun and mind melting to have possession-Hagan chatting to Omega and there's anther Hagan there lol.
@@DiamandaHagan I've seriously considered doing an unauthorized possession revue where I just ramble about one of my own pet obsessions but I don't have any makeup and I feel like it'd be one of those jokes I made entirely for myself
@@westheriault3797 You wouldn't be the first person to do that and I'd be delighted, hell I'd probably reference it in an ep and make it canon. Done it before :)
Domesticated Omega. “What. Do. You Want?” LOVE the head turns! You ever thought of attacking an early Hitchcock from this era, like The Lodger or Blackmail?
By the way, Kino Lorber is giving this a BluRay release in November as part of their Forbidden Fruit: The Golden Age of the Exploitation Picture collaboration with Something Weird Video.
Man, its crazy to see how ... competent and interesting movies where before the Hays code. This seems like the kind of indie movie I could expect to see from the early 2000s, not the 1930s. Thanks for bringing this to light!
@@pinionatedminion38 I had a bit where I talked bout that and said that regardless of the films many issues, it's really an impressive act of not giving a fuck. Got lost in the editing shuffle tho.
What was Omega cooking that it took a whole half hour in review time, and probably an hour in movie time? I also wish him well with his relationship with offscreen Hagan. I'm sure having no body and only a hand and a voice won't get in the way.
Im obsessed with the performances here. I think these are real american accents but since film is so new and these may not be trained stage actors, no ones thought that maybe you should annunciate into the mic. Then again radio had been around forever so they have no excuse
@@westheriault3797 I get that in real life too. Once went to a local museum with Omega and were were asked where we were from- I gave the part of the city I was from and the person asked what state that was in.
This looks like a fake 30ies movie made in 1980 or later... Especially due to the nudity. I find it odd to see that in 1935. But yeah it was real. Apparently, considered as one of the worst movies ever made, and I can see why.
18;40 Häxan, "the witch", is a swedish movie, not danish. My sisters former husbands grandfather made it. (or maybe grandgrandfather)
Happy to be corrected!
It is a Swedish movie, but it was shot in Denmark.
I can't help but think "father's, brother's, cousin's, nephew's, former roommate"
it's a curse
@@graemesmith6721semantics really.
Ah, this theme is like meeting an old friend. Appreciate the psychology trivia from Omega btw

The one person Hagan can't compete with, off screen Hagan ❤
I'm surprised we didn't get a review for this during the body jumping saga.

@@DiamandaHagan incredible. I'll keep this in mind
Rifftrax's got that on rotation on Twitch. But to be fair: Hagans commentaries are kind of more entertaining thant their riffs. Well done.
Was not expecting an ECW joke. Well struck.
Originally it was a WWE joke but changed it to ECW in the last take because I realised that ECW is technically historical, like the film :)
Domesticated Omega.
“What. Do. You Want?”
LOVE the head turns!

I LOVED this, thanks Hagan & Omega! Brilliant job all round.
Huh... the final episode of Bonekickers being called "Follow the Gleam" has a whole new meaning now.
For those that like The Black Cat story, Diamanda GALAS did an astounding reading of it years ago. All due oblations to you, Mistress.

Dementia Praecox sounds like an Addam's Family cousin.
There was cousin Dementia in Addams Family Values..
+5 comedy points for that Shaft joke

Even more impressively it came out DURING the Hayes Code!

6:43 it is always good to check for a pulse even in a morgue sometimes there are cases of pure incompetence and there not actually dead
Took me way too long to remember I've actually seen this movie lol
It's hilarious that the scientist looks a hell of a lot like John Rhys-Davies!
Thank you, Mistress. One is happy to be of service.
I wonder if this movie was an inspiration for Poor Things? There's a couple of similar looking mad scientists, and a young beauty who killed herself.
i'm not surprised that exploitation movies go back so far - humans were still humans back then, just like they are today - we still like to be shocked
They said "no one could make a movie this insane."
He said he would prove it.

damn, wrong Phyllis Diller in the movie. Her laugh would've brightened this more.
Yeaaaaa lol
Damn, also. I was hoping this was where she met her husband, Fang.
And also that is surely a human eye; cats don't have round pupils.
8:23 Man. orchidectomies in the 1930s were really fucked up!
Apparently, the assistant guy is a failed vaudeville actor, as per the script. So him going made was kinda par for course. :P
