Great review of the Salmson, Nige. A fascinating aircraft but a bit peculiar looking; seems to have borrowed someone else's undercarriage. On my first Telford visit in 2014 i visited the, then new to me, Gas Patch stand and was blown away by the quality of the 1/48 version of this machine. I am now tryingb to kick my own arse because I never got an SE5A when they were released. Doh!
A Salmson came up at A$280 in Canberra - same kit as you have reviewed, and were sent from our friendly country. I snapped it up! I am a happy lad. Now for the Ninak... I just noted I repeated myself from an answer to an earlier post, but, given what I have picked up, why not!
Thanks for another great review. Chasing my next WNW kit now, although there seem to be none available in Australia, at least on eBay...
Fingers crossed!
@@NigelsModellingBench Just picked up a Salmson from Canberra... And a US Felixstowe has just come onto eBay.
Fantastic review on the wnw kit Nige thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! and thank you for the kit Charlie!!
Hi Nigel,
Thank you for the lovely Wingnut Wednesday...always a pleasure to look.
I am looking a while for a WWI german truck as a buddy for an aircraft diorama. Do you know one still available?
Thanks a lot.😊
Aviattic did one, I have reviewed it and Copper State Models may do one?
I did see your review. What a lovely kit, but I cannot find one available.
CSM I find only the armoured ones. They are developing a nice Wanderer motorbike. But no Kind of open lorry.
I really want the S.E.5a, The Roden just isn’t in the same class. Got 6 of the last WNW kits that became available.
It’s a crime that Wingnut Wings closed up during the Covid 19 times. They made the best plastic models ever offered to the public.
I absolutely hate model manufacturers that go for the part count and in doing so make the build death by tiny parts. Inversely I love those manufactures that engineer the kit with the builder in mind to make your build so pleasant that one wants to start another one from that manufacture. Model building is suppose to be enjoyed and a stress reliever.
I love working at a middling bench 😉
Me too! How about a meddling bench lol.
Hi Nige! Are you familiar with the work of Mike Norris? An amazing modeller and perhaps the person that built the most WNW models! You could perhaps speak with him about featuring some of his builds, many of which are in free PDFs a bit like the build book you just reviewed. Would be nice to see an interview and chat.
I will check it out
@@NigelsModellingBench I will second ninebolts. Also, I sent him an email regarding using 1/48 Gaspatch turnbuckles on 1/32 models, and he sent a comprehensive email back with several hints, and a heap of other documents including photos.
Dear Nigel, Two things what is the name of the engine & are the air cooler similar to the SPADs?
I did say that the engine is a Salmson 9z and I don't know what the spad air coolers look like/
Thank you Nigel, I'm sorry about Wendy.
Hi Nige how's you and Jess
All good here thanks Annie, Jess is still going, but slowing down a bit now. How's you?
@NigelsModellingBench I'm getting a bit worse with the MS, they are trying to sort out something that will help me and ease the pain
@NigelsModellingBench also bought the Border models 88mm flak gun iron box edition, managed to get it on ebay for £37
So sorry to hear that Annie.. hope they get it sorted.
Bargain!!
