This video was very helpful. First one I could find on UA-cam that understood my need. I wanted a longboard to get around my campus and maybe cruise through town, and the second one looked perfect. Good explanation, will leave a like!
If you like the lower boards i can tell you right now that its a good idea to avoid top mounts, especially if they have RKP trucks, I would go with either a drop down or drop mount for lower to the ground riding
Cruising is pretty much just chill riding around preferably on a flat surface, nothing extreme. Carving is when you go down hills and maneuver your board in a wide s-shape to control your speed and slow the board down a bit. Hope I helped.
I'm looking for a longboard that carves well but also offers decent stability on hills(not planning to bomb hills, though). My campus has some mild slopes, so I'd like a board with enough flex to absorb bumps/cracks, good carvability, and also stability for going down those slopes. Do you have any suggestions on carving boards that have a good balance between flexibility and stability? I was considering the Arbor axis walnut or a carving board from Sector 9. Are there any other sector 9 or arbor boards you would recommend? Thanks in advance.
OK so I'm looking to get a long board for cruising around the neighborhood and getting from point a to point b. I'm about 5'8" and weigh about 140. I was thinking of a Pintail board about 40" and can make tight turns. I don't want the board to be too stiff and uncomfortable so something with a little flex. I want a smooth ride that won't jar so much on the cracks in the concrete so what wheel size and durometer? I'm very curious on what board to get and thanks for any response.
I am trying to find a cruising board, I don't want a big long board, I would like something smaller, but bigger then penny boards, any tips? Any links? Thanks
What is the best cruiser beginners that is innexpensive ( upt to $120 in the US)? I want a cruiser that Isn't too flexible or super fast. I weigh 125 pounds.
I want a longboard that I won't feel every bump, will go fast, and cruise (I don't like to keep kicking and kicking), and also be able to hold onto the top part to be able to drag the board any recommendations????
Hey, i m new to skateboard community and i want to skate in my town (to go to my college etc)i dont really want a big longboard so i try to find a cruiser mini longboard or cruiser skateboard around 27-34 inches length and 8 inches width or abit more i dont mind. Plus i want to be versitile and to have kicktale so i can do some basic tricks (for example i dont want to pick my board if i find a small obstacle, i prefer to jump it). Can you suggest me some boards or atleast give me some advise. Thanks :]
Which is the best longboard brand should you choose for cruising ? If you're not too concerned with pedestrians, or you’ve got a feeling that you’re eventually going to try some hills, you should look to a longer board for increased stability and shred-ability. Yes, these still work for cruising! Along with the ability to cruise, you’re now given the ability to expand your horizons should you feel the urge!
Hey I was wondering If any 1 had any info like name, size , of the 2nd and 3rd deck from the top on the left behind they guy talking any help would be appreciated, thank you
I have a sector 9 dropper deck with shark wheels I am building the board for in town cruising and was wondering what type of trucks I should get I was thinking sidewinders but would like a professional opinion
Hello! nice video. I'm a longboarding beginner and I'm looking for Sector 9 longboard that can do the following: 1. Tight Turns (Nobody wants to stop, get off, turn, get on, push..etc) 2. Rough Pavement. I've seen longboard that need 1 push and can give u a decent distance. 3. Cruising around town. Also on college campus (from class to class and also dodging people) 4. Down hill stability. 5. No noise. idk how you get rid of the noise coming from the wheels contacting the ground and causing vibrations with the deck. 6. Can gain speed easily. Willing to buy one for up to 200 bucks. Please let me know the type of deck, wheels, trucks, and the size, you would recommend for me. I'm 5 feet and 8 inches. Thanks.
What would be a good option if I wanted to go to point A to point B easily, can go down some hills nothing crazy, and is good at turning. I've used a nickel board before and the only thing I don't really like is the turning is quite stiff. The riding is great so if anything you suggest could ride like a nickel board but turn better would be great. I'm leaning towards longboard > cruiser but a suggestion by you may change what I think. Thanks in advance
+Tactics Boardshop how do these boards compare to the ones you mentioned in the video? I know this is a lot to ask for from a board but I wanted to be able to cruise around while carving well and also practice sliding in. I don't know if any boards would be ideal to do any of these but that was what I might be thinking of.
So I wanna get a board just to cruise around and have fun riding, not looking to do any tricks, just ollie so i can get up ledges etc, what deck would you recommend??
Hi there. looking for an expert advise in getting a longboard. my main purpose is to get from point A to B. Along the way, I'll be getting into turns, and humps, and get in and out of sidewalks. what do you think would be best for a beginner? Thanks.
I am about 4'8" and am a beginner to long larding and was just wondering what size to get. I had my eye on a cheap Quest Vision pintail longboard however it's 40" and I'm not sure if that's going to be way too long for me.
I am completely new to longboarding. I need a good board for a beginner. I want to commute and hit some basic hills, and cruise around town. I want to be comfortable on my commute, something that rides smoothly would be ideal. Not looking to spend more than $150 but I will pay $200 if you guys really recommend it. Thanks!
I want a long board for cruising but they r so spendy r there any other alternatives that are fun for longer rides I was thinking maybe a smooth skateboard
Thank you! I love that Sector 9 lookout. Do you think a pin tail like the Arbor timeless (in this video) would be a bad idea for long distance pushing/carving? I notice it's a taller top mount, so I'm assuming from what you've said that would be a bad idea. .
What is the weight limit!!!! for the arbor pin tail because I am buying the arbor timeless walnut pintail and I dont want it to "sink" down because of my weight. Please answer asap
As far as I can tell, bigger is better, time to build one out of plexi glass or some other light strong material. How does 5' by 1'11" sound for the dimensions?
what does he mean by camber like negative camber on the wheels just like on a car because that's the only camber I know. sorry i really like cars and I'm just starting to get into long board cruising.
Hey question, I recently bought a sidewinder series board, and have been trying to ldp but can't, are the kingpins loose enough when I buy it or do you have to loosen it more by yourself, lastly do you loosen both kingpins or just one ?
Okay, so I have never ridden a skateboard or longboard but i'm looking for one to just ride around the road or sidewalks even downhill, no tricks or anything along those lines, what do you think would be best for that kinda' thing?
I've been looking into getting a longboard mainly for cruising around town, on college campus, and down some mellow hills until i get better. I am 5'11" and 200 pounds, would the Moonshine County Line Firm Flex be a good deck for me? Also, what wheels (I want to learn how to slide), trucks, and bearings should i get? My girlfriend is also looking into getting a longboard, she is 5'4" and 110 pounds. We have no idea what to get for her. Recommendations?
Hey I'm a beginner looking for a board for transportation. I live 3 miles from work and it's almost a straight shot there. Ive had experienced with normal skateboards but they dont fit for the trip to work. I'm 5'2 , 170lbs IDK if that matters. I'm looking to spend under 200$ . What would be a good board?
Yup, if you don't wan't any risers then you'll have to get some smaller cruiser wheels. Something around 52 - 55mm should work without any risers, but anything bigger will be wheelbite city. Cheers! - Tim

I have ridden my friend's dropdeck longboard and I like it. I am looking for something to cruise around town and turn fairly sharp. What should I get?
If you like the lower boards i can tell you right now that its a good idea to avoid top mounts, especially if they have RKP trucks, I would go with either a drop down or drop mount for lower to the ground riding
Actually the second one is the best
Double kingpin trucks
