Judging from your reaction to that first bite I'm guessing it's safe to say that Wakaba Isshiki truly was a genius for coming up with that recipe, no wonder Sojiro was so fond of her.

This is my first video im seeing from you and I was thinking "Man I really wish youtubers put the ingredient list in the description so I dont have to write it all out myself" and you did exactly that. Thanks! This was a very helpful video
Haha I'm trying to load up every video. Some of my older ones don't have lists, be patient with me :)
I think there were 2 versions of this recipe: One from P5 Scramble and the other is from P5 the Animation.
Feel free to compare both!
I'm appalled.
I'm disgusted.
Sojiro would NEVER use instant coffee.
Nah, but seriously, I'm dying to try this, thank you so much.
Haha I don't think he would either... But I had made dalgona coffee earlier that day so yolo
I checked a gameplay video of P5R and it mentioned the coffee used was actually instant coffee. I did not expect that too LOL
Futaba: ChefPK! I Hunger!!
I’ve made a variation of this before that’s become my go-to. I stopped using garlic and the recipe has potatoes, steak sauce, and red wine in it as well (gotta use all those curry tips!). Also I end up just chopping up the apples really fine instead of grating them and slicing up carrots.
It makes a big pot of curry, which is fine since my roommates love it, too. Plus it keeps pretty well, so it’s pretty much dinner for a week.
Apparently Sojiro serves it with fukujinzuke, so I also want to try making that to serve with it as well.
Mm, potatoes are a good addition.
Oh, that's good for sure. We normally use garlic and onions on every dish we made at home, but when talking about curry, we use peanut butter instead of curry powder.
Potatoes and chopped carrots are great in curry, with the protein of choice and rice it's such a good meal
How much steak sauce and red wine?
Joshua Workman Roughly a few tablespoons and a cup, respectively. But I don’t really measure when making curry.
Really happy you mentioned how it compares to mole because that was on my mind the whole time. Really excited to try this recipe out soon
Just made this for the family, holy crap it's amazing. Made the Disney cheese toasties a few days back too, just as good, your videos are amazing, man!
Super glad to hear you enjoyed it!
You know the dish is going to be extra good when the chef cat comes to check in on the progress.

I tried this today with golden curry mix and salted dark chocolate. It turned out great. Thanks for the recipe
crap, I forgot the honey
Time to make it again!
That "Oh my god!" reaction had me sold on making some curry!
I like this recipe alot, but there's a few small things I'd do differently. This is all 100% personal preference but, I'd add diced potatoes, and also dice my carrots rather than grate them. I'd also probably wait to grate the apple until it was time to put it in so it wouldn't oxidize while sitting. I'd also probably cut my onions into bigger slivers rather than finely dice them.
Follow up, I made this a few hours ago and it was dank af
Chocolate, apples, and honey in a savory curry. Calm down there, Satan.
All the seasoning needs the sweetness to balance it out or it'll just end up being inedible
Japan's Sony twitter page shared the recipe a couple of weeks back. That's what the recipe lists. Plus they even mention those items when you make curry in the game.
@@paulgarcia2399 I'm not questioning the legitimacy of the recipe. I just personally don't like the combination of sweet and savory. It was a joke, don't read too much into it.
Same. I know a bit of sweetness helps with balancing out all the spicy stuff, but it seems a bit too much.
The chocolate is dark chocolate so its actually much more bitter than sweet.
I made this in my instant pot and it's absolutely heavenly! Thanks for the video! I'll be making this again for sure :)
I was waiting for Lucian to go, "Looking cool, Chef!"

"Add 4 bay leaves" cause they say you can't call a recipe "a recipe" without adding bay leaf
As I made this myself for friends and I, I can say it tasted amazing. We all liked it and now they want me to make it whenever they come over
Super glad you liked it!
Lucian is just telling you it's time to go to sleep.
this looks really good :o but idk how to cook so i will forever be envious of your curry
i’ve never had curry before but that looks banger
It is and it’s super simple. You can sub whatever protein or veg you want just always toast your spices first. Use freshly ground of possible but it’s not a requirement. There’s so many variations of curry. Like if you didn’t want the full fat yogurt you could use coconut milk or cows milk. Fuller fat is better. In a struggle meal I sub in some butter or margarine to make up for the lack of fat. Some veggie ideas are broccoli, cauliflower, peas, potatoes(sweet potatoes too) . For the proteins you can use chickpeas , shrimp, chicken, literally anything.
Alterations I made:
Apple Juice instead of Grated Apple and less honey
No Carrot, subbed in potatoes and mushrooms, both diced
Used two to three onions and cooked them until jammy, if you don't want to do that I'd suggest getting the smallest pearl onions you can get and along with the mushroom put them in a pan with some stock and just let them go for a bit, they taste so good with time
Wake up. Get up. GET OUT THERE!~
Ive made this countless times, its honestly worth the work in my opinion
"Gonna make Curry today" ...
Uses coffee, apple, chocolate & honey
... WUT?! O_o
Wait... You don't? I thought that was common knowledge for Japanese curry?
@@miragesplLet's say that I don't make Japanese curry often
@@yugoxgc You gotta try it ASAP mate, even if you're only using the store bought curry roux. Definitely gives it more flavor. Like adding shallots and toppings to an otherwise plain ramen packet.
>Not knowing basic Japanese cuisine
Persona 5 fans never cease to disappoint me
Valsch Are you serious or just memeing, because if you seriously feel a sense of superiority over people just because they don’t know the inner workings of a Japanese curry you might be slower than a dead tortoise.
I added in red wine as well to this and I live in a motel so I had to use a slow cooker and a grill to cook everything as well as adding in some potatoes
"Cumin" is actually pronounced "come-in".
But it seems most people don't pronounce it that way anymore.
Probably because nobody would want cumin in their food anymore.

As it stands right now making this is the antithesis of what I can do as a chef. It uses all my skills.
I've seen a fair amount of recipes on this, but this is the first time I've seen a video.
Having played through P5 and P5Royal many times, the little tips you get when cooking curry always had me shook, like "Wait, you can add coffee to curry?" As a coffee guy I wanted to try it myself. 10/10 video, +1 subscriber. Hope to see more cooking stuff from you ;D

Yoooo I just watched u make the curry from persona 5 and I had to tell u make the curry buns from Black Butler

In the words of Akihiko from Persona 3: I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS! ;)
The wait is over!
It looks amazing 🤤 I gotta try out the recipe
Just made this tonight. It was really amazing! Glad I've finally tasted Sojiro's curry
Nice!
I made this following your instructions (almost). I didn't have any bayleaves and I used a pre-mixed curry spice.
I added almost twice as much flour as you did in the vid (probably didn't need to do that much it got REALLY thick).
The apples and carrots are almost non-existent in the final taste. I would've really liked chunks of carrots cooked in with the chicken. The chocolate and coffee are good (although my GF didn't like it as much as me 😅)
I used half as much honey and still thought it was too sweet (my GF suggesting adding your amount of honey and nixing the coffee and chocolate)
This is a HEARTY meal bruh. Really flavorful, aromatic, and fulfilling. I absolutely adore the taste of the chicken w the ginger, coffee and chocolate. The spices are perfect for adding that aromatic quality and spice factor. There's still some things I would change next time I make it, but overall good meal and with my girlfriend and I working together, only took a little over an hour to make everything (including the rice).
This video was great: easy to follow, entertaining, and ended w a meal that satisfies. 👍🏻👍🏻
This is awesome to hear, really glad you liked it. And I absolutely encourage you guys to change it up how you want!
This man is a legend for this, confirmed.
No wonder everyone that tried the curry in game went nuts asking for more!!!
Chef, thank you for finally teaching me how to make curry! When I make it, mu curry sauce always comes out more liquidly than well sauce.....its very delicious but I always wanted to make it look more saucey than soup.
