Doctor Who reviews are in for Ncuti Gatwa's first few episodes as the doctor with a 100% fresh score. Taking on David Tennant as a therapy figure, it's no wonder he's started telling the audience to not watch and touch grass. But with new clips, interviews and reviews, we now get to see exactly what everyone expected. These Doctor Who reviews are for an entirely new rebooted Doctor Who, so much that even the BBC and Disney have titled it Doctor Who Series 1. Whether this new series 1 reboot will even continue past Ncuti Gatwa's run as the Doctor remains to be seen. As the BBC and Disney seem to be shrinking the audience rather than expanding it. Can Doctor Who even continue under Disney's leadership, because while the BBC may not need viewers to survive, Disney+ does. But what do you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

The irony of a Hollywood/BBC celebrity telling people to "go touch grass"😂. They only know how you use the idiom, not what it's origin and meaning are. Hey, Ncuti, "go touch grass" means to go outside and have some real experiences, not the shallow facade of an existence on the Internet or in the echo-chambers you exist in.
What has happened to Doctor Who makes me sad. Doctor who is something special for me. My Dad always used to let me stay up late and watch with him. It was constant and comforting. As I got older I continued to watch. It breaks my heart that they killed it. Now if you 'll excuse me, I have to go touch some grass.

It makes me wonder if Capaldi inserted that line as a way of acknowledging the sentiment of the fans, of which he was one? This nonsense started towards the end of his run, so he’s experienced it firsthand.

No reason to feel any responsible for this one mate. The lefty BBC were pushing this DEI/Alphabet crud into the show long before Disney arrived on the scene
I never thought of Doctor Who as straight. He was just The Doctor. But now, hes the gay doctor... because reasons. Gay actors could have played the doctor no problem, but thats not what this is. This Ncuti being Ncuti in a show called Doctor Who. Its like no one is acting anymore. They want themselves in everything. Narcissists everywhere, calling people racists and homophobes and sexists because they dont like narcissists.
The Doctor isn't straight, gay or any of the rainbow flavours. He's an ALIEN ffs. I wouldn't think that an alien would have any of the above traits. A race that doesn't experience death has no need for reproduction, therefore no need for sex. Or any of the problems it brings.
Even as an American (and an African-American at that), what happened to Doctor Who really pisses me off. My first Doctor was Tom Baker, and I've been a huge fan of the series ever since (with my second favorite Doctor being Christopher Eccleston, who was absolutely FANTASTIC in Revenger's Tragedy, btw). So believe me, the British fans are not alone in whatever the hell is going on here.
Oh my gosh, I hadn't heard about Revenger's Tragedy at all, and I adore Middleton's plays! Looks like they're doing something really interesting in their adaptation, and Eccleston and Jacobi and Quick!! Thanks so much for mentioning it; I'm so glad I stumbled upon your comment! Also, I'm American too and absolutely agree with what you wrote. It's been a huge loss, tbh. I miss the Doctor. I miss my favorite show.
I love the fact that Disparu is far more interesting and fun in his commentary than the original content. Thank-you Disney and the BBC for making this channel possible.
Look at it this way. Disney is making it easy on the fans. Now when you say you are a fan of something, it's easy to qualify. Ex: "do you like Star Wars"? "Yes. But not Disney Star Wars". Now Dr. Who fans can use it

Is this the "right side of history" where the BBC couldn't write about a genuine Indian mathematician like Ramanujan, but instead made Sir Isaac Newton half-Indian? I instantly know everything about them: they're idiots. Before even the very first moral judgement, I'ma judge them for being intellectually incompetent. And if One is too stupid to look up a fact and instead deliberately twist known history, that tells me more than everything about both their intellect AND morals.
Really, that's what RTD has always done. He originally submitted a script for Doctor Who back in 1987 and it was rejected. So he got famous for writing dramas, most notably Queer as Folk, and he used that popularity to push for the 2005 Doctor Who revival despite the BBC's lack of faith. Davies' vision basically tore the existing canon a new a**ehole and turned the series into more of a drama. The only real difference is that in '05 the BBC were calling Nu Who "Davies' Folly" and expecting it to die the same miserable death as the telemovie, but in '24 no one is willing to tell RTD to reign in his excesses or that his ideas suck.
His advice to turn off TV and touch grass guarantees one thing that's good, you will not meet a single person from the doctor who show while you do it, they are all too busy posting their drooling stupidity online.
I saw a scene from Doctor Who last night. Three babies in some kind of prams, with flamethrowers on them, chased off the monster and saved the doctor, who seemed to be hiding behind a wall from it. Oh, and the babies talked... I think. I left the room at that point and put on HoloTalk instead.
As an American who has been a fan since Tom Baker - I stopped watching when Matt Smith took over. I’m pretending that the show just stopped production at that point.
I just got an ad for this "Doctor Who", ahem, I mean "Nurse What", in the middle of the video. As hard as the mouse tries, Disney ain't gonna convince me to watch this show.
David, don't be surprised if some fans reevaluate their fond memories of your performances, and wonder how is it possible that they actually found this to be entertaining. Memory is funny that way. Hope you feel smug and fullfilled on your courageous stand, but do try to to think of Weird Al Yanklovitch song "Dare to be stupid" to have some context for upcoming events.
That point about doctor who not caring about how it looks is quite good. It was a show with celery and bow ties not caring about how it appears on the surface because it was intelligent within. Now it’s all about image because there’s nothing else.
They made aliens out of bubble plastic you would actually be afraid for. Heck, the Daleks frankly looked ridiculous with their suction cup hands, but the voice work, acting and effects made them a terrifying presence for the ages. I'm still amazed how they got a thing with no face to radiate pure hate and menace.
And social media says we’re in the wrong? My family used to watch ‘Dr Who’ in the Golden Era: Pertwee and Tom Baker. I would hide behind the couch in the Sea Devils arc; if I were a parent now, the scary stuff would be my kids being exposed to this blatant propaganda pulling fringe into mainstream. Telling whatever fans they have left to 'go away' isn't a necessary virtue signal - we won't be watching.
And ALWAYs low-IQ. People with functioning minds know that history has no end point and no matter what order you think is inevitable, is as ephemeral as all others.
The same people who try to rewrite history and depict Sir Isaac Newton as a half Indian dude in 1666. Don't claim you're on the right side of history when you try to fabricate actual history. Remember when Britain gave us James Bond, The Saint, Dracula, Frankenstein and other Hammer epics, and of course the classic Doctor Who? Hard to believe in only 50 or so years, we have gotten to this.
I shudder to think what Hollywood would make of Black Adder, Faulty Towers or anything by Monty Python. British humour is, like Jewish humour, unique, you simply can't replicate it. I'm neither British nor American, but simply love those shows.
Most older comedy was great. Jewish, British and American were fantastic. But then our colleges and universities became festering cesspits of whiny bitter serial offence parasites. Who arrogantly tell other groups what should offend them
My favorite part was when they said “that ship didn’t crashed, it parked. It’s a shame you’re not a woman anymore. She’d have understood”. Secretly great joke 😂
I was resigned to being a "former fan" and simply not watching Doctor Who... before they weaponized David Tennant and burned his legacy down. Now I'm embarked to admit I was ever a fan of Tennant. He makes me ill.
This is just plain embarassing. "These people are on the wrong side of history" says David Tennant (unsurprisingly)... This show will soon be history says me. Unwatchable dreck.
It makes me sad that I cannot enjoy any show David T is in anymore. By allowing himself to be so put down and trodden on in the specials leading up to this and then endorse it dropped my opinion of him out of the running. I get it, your biological child born with male parts doesn't know what he wants to be as he is surrounded by all of his beautiful sisters, and you want to support him/it.
So the new Doctor Who is on a different review page. So whoever is in charge saw fit to segregate the BLACK doctor from the white ones. God damnit BBC 🤦🏾♂️
My conspiracy theory is that they will say it was us bigots and racists that demanded he be segregated and not the act of the studio itself who felt victimized by us white racists. With them trying to rewrite history, I wouldn't be surprised.
They turned Doctor Who into a brothel...it all started when Jack Harkness kissed the Doctor... It was never about any of that, which was the shows strength. Long Live Classic Doctor Who!
It's a load of bollocks anyway, you've basically got woke lunatics and everyone else. Things were a bit more chill when you just had Liberals and Conservatives, with most being a mix of both.
Exactly the identity politics has devoured peoples ability to apply critical thinking, we live in a world where Tony Benn would be considered hard right nowadays.
I just switched it off. There’s more than a lifetime’s worth of pre-woke entertainment out there if you need it. Give it another five years and we’ll have a Restoration, much like the jollity that followed the demise of Oliver Cromwell.
Embrace dvds. You can get whole series’ worth of truly excellent tv - like the six million dollar man, battlestar galactica, chips, street hawk, the a-team, knight rider - for a few quid from music magpie.
@darrenscrowston9386 Mate you’re right on the money. Basically ANYTHING physical that you can get or keep your hands on is paramount now. It’s just a shame we now have a whole generation ( Gen z ) who simply think dvd’s and such are for “old people” Im 32 this year and cannot believe the generational gap between me and younger contemporaries, and I regret trading in hundreds of games and dvds when I was younger, if I knew what was coming, with streaming and censorship, aling with rewriting history of media… I’d have rented a storage lockup to out everything. It all goes one way now… “You will own nothing, and you’ll be happy”
When the showrunners for Doc Martin talked about licensing the show for an American version, it was the American fans who begged them not to. We knew Hollywood would ruin it. A "more American" version of Doctor Who was tried several years ago and it failed miserably.
Douglas Adams fought tooth and nail to prevent his masterwork from getting Americanised. Of course the moment he was gone, they turned it into an American-style movie and pretty well destroyed it. And his “Dirk Gently” is pretty much unwatchable.

@@sirrathersplendid4825 That is why I stick to the old audiobooks, radio plays and the old mini series. Watching the new one gave me a terrible pain in all the diodes down my left hand side.
We already had a Doc Martin-ish show in America. In the early 90’s. It was called Northern Exposure. It’s not a one for one, but it is about a doctor getting used to life in an odd town.
Can't wait for your reviews on this one mate. Episode 1 we have Gatwa laughing after making babies terrified and crying. And episode 2? Well... Just label this as "Disney Doctor Who" in your head canon. That's how I've published my reviews. The show died when Capaldi regenerated anyway.
Is he literally and unironically saying that all you have to do to succeed is be white??? O.o Well...shit. I've been going about this all wrong! Never knew i didn't have to try, work hard, show up on time, etc, to succeed. This is a game changer!
This series, I refuse to call it Doctor Who, is not representative of British culture or American culture. It's representative of globalism, which represents no culture at all because it seeks to eradicate culture.
One of the other big issues with British to American transitions is meddling by executives who don't quite get the point themselves or assume their audiences are too stupid to get the point without being told what the point is. I've watched interviews and discussions on the failed pilots for Red Dwarf and the IT Crowd, both of which had the original scripts and at least one of the original British cast. For Red Dwarf it was interesting that the actor who played Kryten commented that the executives would listen to a script reading and laugh at the wrong places. In the case of the IT Crowd, the show couldn't help but glamourise every character except Moss (who was played by the original British actor), including Roy who was played by a hunk but still had Chris O'Dowd's lines.
I didn't know that doctor who became an American show. I am rewatching the show because I never got to finish, I stopped around season 7 or 8. It sucks that they let a really great show go down.
Honestly matt smith and Peter capaldi were my least favourite until maybe half way through where I started to like them, shame it went from a goofy scifi show to whatever this is now
Thing about Smith and Capaldi is that they proved themselves despite the initial backlash. You know who didn’t? Chibnall, Whittaker, Davies pt. 2, and now Gatwa. Were they actually good, people would have warmed to them as they did other initially controversial showrunners and actors in the past. But they didn’t, and they lashed out for not achieving what they assumed would be guaranteed success.
Capaldi was the closest to old Who, at least when they wrote him correctly They even had a decent send off for him, but can't let a good thing stay good They want to tear it down, they don't want real fans anymore
So according to Russell T Davies disabled people are associated with evil and straight people are incapable of having fun and joy? 🤔 He seems to have a rather warped perception of certain sections of humanity doesn't he?
The former was him explaining why they made Davros a fully-abled bodied person, so that no one would associate being disabled with evil. He's still white tho, because that association is fine.
I can't believe David Tennant said that the amount of respect for him i've lost because of it is stagering. I've grown up watching doctor who and to see a long time and beloved doctor get so preachy and stand off-ish like that is disheartening. He really is no different for the rest of the modern day "Side with us or F off" actors is he?
I'm currently following a quirky SF series called "on the nature of predators" that uses the idea that many alien species had their histories rewritten and genes adjusted to make them controllable and meek to good effect. The only reasons humans escaped that treatment was (spoiler) partly because they thought we had already blown ourselves to dust with atomics.
@@misanthropicattackhelicopt4148 💯 Yes! But he wrote one classic they don't like to mention "Zer Judenfrage" The Jwish Question! Very Interesting & suprising 👍 \o
It's so crazy how obvious they're being with the fact the reviews are paid off when they're rating it a "fresh" despite the review constantly mentioning how confusing and bad it usually is or even mention that they feel it didn't have much success.
Capaldi's run was Doctor Who's last gasp. The current trends were creeping through, but he still had some strong moments and memorable episodes. Everything after has been a fever dream.
Eh, I still prefer the Tenth Doctor over the Eleventh. I don't know anything about what Matt Smith is like personally so I can't comment on which one I would prefer to chat with.
I agree. Tennant was my fav nu-who doctor until fairly recently but at this point, he's now my least fav, so much so, it saddens me that I know I won't even be able to rewatch his seasons bc he's tainted them for me. I'll rewatch Eccleston, Smith & Capaldi and Torchwood. I wish I could separate the art from the artist, but it doesn't work that way for me sadly. I like my sci-fi and fantasy shows to be an utter escape of reality, (which is the exact reason why I love sci-fi & fantasy shows!) not a hit-you-over-the-head-preach-at-you-experience bc some actors have to espouse their ideology far and wide, so everytime you see their face you're reminded of how self-righteous they are, no thanks.
"Not exactly the straightest men out there..." He HAD CHILDREN! "Not the straightest" His own children, who he very frequently got emotional about losing.
Meh. It's Russell T Davies in a nutshell. I guy gave the terribly lame Mavity "joke" more continuity than his own work. The literally brought about regenerating clothes just to retcon it so he could ensure Gatwa was running around in his tightywhighties
Having children doesn't by definition make you straight. There are all types of LGBQWERTY people in real life, who do. And if you are going with the fact that he had children, you need to include the whole Captain Jack stuff. And because Time Lords can change gender means that they are open to gay/lesb relationships with their partner.

And at least a wife or two, possibly three........ actually do we have a count on how many times he has been married over all 12 regenerations?
So straight Male characters can't be charasmatic and "unusual." They're automatically camp now? Do you not just think there's gay men out there who just prefer men but do not want the perception of gay men to be eccentric and camp all the time? Tennants Doctor had a few female love interests. Wind your neck in Russell.
I'm Italian, and one of the things I loved most about Doctor Who was how distinctly british it was. I breathed the same atmosphere that I breathe every time I go to visit a friend of mine in England. It may seem strange but I learned the importance of cultural identity by watching 'Profondo Rosso' by Dario Argento. In the film the protagonist is english (as is the actor) and the cultural difference between him and the rest of the characters who are Italian is evident. This partly helps make the viewer feel alienated (a perfect thing for that movie) but also presents a great opportunity to see how the characters relate and grow without betraying their identities. What may seem almost like oddities of the protagonist are simply the fruit of a different culture (a difference that years ago was even more marked with the absence of globalization). It's a film that has a strong woman as a co-protagonist, where the killer is a woman and the protagonist's best friend is gay and is shown to be in a relationship with another man (and the protagonist doesn't care, he accepts him for the person he is). But all these things are not pushed to the limit, they are represented in a normal, unforced way. I'm bisexual and I don't care about Gawta's sexual orientation, I don't care about the color of his skin: I care about the fact that he's just not the doctor. They took everything the doctor was and stood for and threw it out the window. They betrayed the character himself (and the fans). But I'll take their advice: I won't watch it. I will continue to rewatch old seasons when the Doctor was still the Doctor (and was still a man). Sorry for the terrible English and love from Italy
You know I find it funny that every single one of them fall into the same trap they fail to realize that without the fans they would be out of a job without people liking his performance David Tennant would be a nobody
I suspect it's because a lot of these people follow the ideas of left wing icon and media theory bullshit artist Noam Chomsky, he's written a lot about media consumption and it's effect on the people and it all basically boils down to people are so dumb they will watch whatever you put infront of them and completely believe it, the massive ove rarching problem is that Chomsky has absolutely no idea what the fuck he is talking about as the nearest he comes to interacting with the common man is noticing the cleaner hasn't emptied the bin in his office. But his theory's got a lot of traction in academia (partly because media theory is realitively new field and he was one of the first to come up with theories, but mainly I supect because he's a ardent Marxist) and have been very influential in the sort of degree courses that lead you to a career in the media and as they also have no real experince dealing with real people either, they can't reconcile why fans just don't blindly accept what they are told like they were taught they would at uni. (It's where I think a lot of the anger comes from it's frustration because they've been taught that this should be working.)
I'm willing to accept it ending with The Giggle. The Doctor, OUR Doctor, gets to live out his life with Donna's family. As far as I'm concerned, Ncuti isn't The Doctor.
Ncuti seems to be labouring under the impression that anyone was going to turn on the TV for him in the first place. Can't stop watching something if you never started, & Doctor Who has been crap for so long that nobody is watching.
My ex popped by yesterday. He couldn’t stay long because he was rushing home to watch Dr Who with his brother. I was informed that I’m missing a great new series… not that I’ve watched any tv for 20+ years.
I loved Capaldi & complained how Moffat wrote for him, as being 2nd place to Clara. But now I can watch those series again feeling thankful for such wonderful writing. By comparison to this muck. Capaldi loved Doctor Who and got to be the last Doctor. ❤
I mean I didn't think David Tennant would be a paragon of sanity, but I didn't think he was _this_ despicable. The guy played _Casanova_ for crying out loud.

Good analogy.
They get funding from special interests to vandalise what we like.

Not this fan, sadly. Tainted now.
@@BookSquirrelUK Same.
“Bought critics love it!”
@@clogs4956 Sounds like just the kind of nobody I was talking about.
They don't want us to watch? Aye, already on it.
Out of all the people I know who used to get excited to watch dr who every week none of them watch it anymore. That, to me, says everything.
I loved Capaldi & complained how Moffat wrote for him, as being 2nd place to Clara. But now I can watch those series again feeling thankful for such wonderful writing.
By comparison to this muck.
Capaldi loved Doctor Who and got to be the last Doctor. ❤
“Don’t watch!” Very well. As you wish.
100% review score! An ad came up on TikTok yesterday with the new Doctor saying how he's going to save the series. Comments were disabled
Ncuti Gatwa considered himself as Scottish as David Tennant. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Why yes, he was part of the Black Watch.
@@JB-yb4wn🤣🤣🤣
Cry. Definitely cry
Doesn't even speak with a Scottish accent😢
The arrogance of this man is just very sad to see. When will those fellas just f off back to their countries....
i may never get to enjoy doctor who again, but i do get to enjoy rare videos like this
I mean I didn't think David Tennant would be a paragon of sanity, but I didn't think he was _this_ despicable.
The guy played _Casanova_ for crying out loud.
Even the character he’s been playing recently in Dr W seems completely demented.
This video is more entertaining than any if the Disney episodes so far.
Apparently if you're not careful, you can break bones, dislocate a knee, or pull a hamstring trying to do a death drop.
Doctor who, Doctor strange, and Dr feelgood all did the rounds together at the local sanitarium.
Also local _Aquarium_ 🐙
A lot of Disney's budget was used to pay off those RT reviewers. Got to get that 100%
Probably not, given the outing was that it costs about 30 dollars per review and it was 28 in the video. 😂
My brother in christ, we had the same reaction to the death drop 😂😂😂
Word for word, both clips 😂😂😂😂
