Barnsley Honeywell in 1963 Extended version by Dave Cherry

A glimpse into a bygone life in the Honeywell district of Barnsley.
Originally filmed by Reg Humphreys on Standard 8 cine film it has been digitised by the local singer and film documentarian Dave Cherry.
This extended version shows Reg being interviewed, at the end of the film, by Dave. He explains the fascinating close knit world of working class life in the terraced streets.
See when the water board put emergency water tanks or ‘bowsers’ on the street, views of ‘feeast’ week and the children in their Whitsuntide clothes.
