Just flown with him on a private flight from Mombasa to Dubai! He’s such a gentle soul
congratulations from morocco .. good exemple for all africans . nice jobe Mr kinuthia .
I happened across the video of the Kenya Airlines inaugural nonstop flight from JFK to Jomo Kenyatta airport in Kenya. I felt an exceptional experience traveling with the passengers with Captain Joseph Kinutihi, his copilots, and the flight attendants. I had the sense that although it was a long flight, it appeared to be very smooth. I felt the airplane was in very good hands despite being a nervous flier. Mr. Kinutihi will be remembered as a legendary and exceptional pilot during his 42 years of service and if I were to fly to Kenya or anywhere overseas, I'd want Mr. Kinutihi to pilot the plane. I wish the best of luck, blessings, and peace to him and his family. He safely brought many, many loved ones to their destination.
Congratulations Sir.. You're a mentor indeed
Well done Captain on your magnificent tenure 🙏🏾, to a life of service. God speed and good luck to you, in your future endeavors. South Africa 🇿🇦
job well done.God bless you Mr.kinuthia
Congrats sir!
Congratulations. U blessings . Will reach others
Kenya Airways...Asante sana! When I left Africa for Canada, I was a virgin(first time flyer). Kwa nini? Kwa sababu nilikua mkimbizi. Jesuit Refugee Service(JRC) took pitty on me when I got sellected to Join Moi High School Kabarak in 1995 KCPE exams. A good human, Sister Maureen Limar(last name might be wrong) of JRS, Kakuma Refugee Camp helped me and brothers and sisters who did well in KCPE and KCSE examinations. My frineds went to Lodwar, Lokore Secondary but I went to Katilu Boys with some friends. My friends from "Lodwar city" called our school "Katilu Bush" and they were right. There were no women around. We were fathers in a sense but hard work and hunger was our inspiration. Poor Ms. Omaido of Biology Delt. She was one of the two teachers wearing a skirt or a dress. Every other teacher was wearing pants. Ms. Omaido was smart, kind and stern. She was one of those teachers a gig loves. In the desert, biological experiments are hard to get but Miss Omaido always had an experiment. I think got a B+ or A- in Biology(can't remember). My heart was sten by Jason Peglow, a Social Ethics & Education teacher from the United States. He died from cancer a few years later but his teachings remains. He entered the class and my pen dropped. He started to write his name one the blackboard and just like a ninja, he turned and pointed at me and asked, What is ethics? I had no idea what he just asked me. I knew I had visited the UNHCR library in Kakuma and had some idea what ethics means(but with little food, knowleded is hard to retain). So, I mumbled out what was in me that I thought was right and said "right"? Yes, right, Ethic is what is right, he said. I was relieved but still shaking. A human without self-respect has zero ethics, he said. That was my first interaction with a white man, a good white man. He died of cancer, just like other good men and women.
Sorry I strayed out of topic. So, being a first timer( virgin flyer) on Kenya Airways was an experience of a lifetime. I watched things I had never seen before, like movies about planes crashing while on a plane. It was awesome until we landed in London. Delays after delays...that was August 2002. but I finally reached Toronto. From Toronto, I connected to Mount Allison, Sackville, New Bruswick. Allison Broadbent and Charlie Hunter picked me up at Moncton Airport while lovely Mora Macdonald was preparing my welcoming food. Have you ever been full of excitement you never want to eat? I saw green things they call salad and I thought white people where inane. To me, only cows eat that. I was used to eating maize or githeri but they said, cows eat maize, we love salad. A guest never choose so I tested the green stuff and it was good so I took a secound try and was amazing. Moncton is now my home. Beautiful land with lots of winter snow but blessed with kind humans.
A community without respect can be even colder, as social media experts predict....Dear humans, we are smart but our own stupidity shall be our downfall. Kenya Airways, thanks for being my first floght. President Moi, bila maziwa ya Nyayo bwana, I don't think I would be where I'm today. Please, stay with us. President, watu wengine wanasema, kwa nini watu wanaongea miaka mingi? Moi anasema, kula vizuri na tumia akili yako ndugu na dada. My people, let God be your gouidance and self-respect your tool. To respect others is respecting humanity. Why
Thank you. Asante sana, thank you very much.

Common misunderstanding. A "direct" flight makess an intermediate stop in a city sometimes several cities other than the final destination but does not require you to deplane. A "NONSTOP" flight makes no stops between the origin city and destination. Don't book a "direct flight unless you want to takeoff and land several times before you reach you're destination unless you want to spend hours on an airplane as opposed to NONSTOP flights which takes less time
Congrats Mzee
May God bless you abundantly sir,you really made Kenya popular and Africa at large.Mashujaa day kinuthia should be among the celebrated heroes.

Congrats Cpt > Retired .
I didn't see sebastian miskoz there!
So proud of him and I certainly wish him well.
However I’m very surprised that this not good at all airline had such an intelligent pilot. What he never knew is that other staff at KQ are the worst of the worst. I flown twice with this airline by complete accident and it’s been such a nightmare.
Be warned if you fly klm you could easily find yourself in KQ.
Nice people at KQ but have no clue of the basics of customer service. Flying can be stressful and KQ staff makes it all the more stressful and unpleasant.
Simple advice; when your passengers have questions or concerns never ever turn the computer screen to the passenger in an attempt to help them or whatever the case. We the passenger don’t care what your screen tells you! All we want from you (KQ staff)is to know you got wits or problem solving skills for us your client.
I thought he was to be given a small jet for a normal flights
Capt. Disho Kinuthia is my OB at AST Perth, Scotland in 1976 alumni...!!..congs Disho..relax at last...!!
Hii jina (inaugural) inasomwa "inogiro" ama inasomwa aje?
Fik Shun inaguro soma hivi
He should be given a contract to go on haki he was the best.
Captain Kinuthia not kinutihia.
Forced to retire?
@Jake Haynes ok
He looks so good for his age and that stressful career, of over 40 yrs and he is a man of most high integrity, said he worked hard EVERY flight, practicing in simulator, and his last day of work, he worked as hard as his first day. What a statement of Successfullness. !!!!!!!!
Okuyu Tibim
Good job captain. A deserved retirement
The pride of Africa while continueing to make heavy losses.
Wengine wanarenew contract
Hii ati ni breaking news kenya
Im a Kenyan who flies often and will never use KQ all my friend say their luggage items gets stolen they also have the worst customer service . Every time I want to give them a chance all my a Kenyan friends warn me. For an airline that says they are the pride of Africa the have a very long way to go. I even went to check their reviews and they were so bad , my own brother had his stuff stolen on a KQ flight . What a disgrace third world mentality third world service.
Is he the only person who has retired?
It's the best pilot we had and have in our country so far, And that's why. Try and get the point. Thanks
bbc50 yes he is our first best pilot.appreciate
Are you an asshole? Yes.
bbc50 absolutely not the first to ever retire but, his story is worth mentioning for those of us that fly a bit. We are so grateful for such pilots that are known for their ethics, etiquette and most importantly 40+ years of no near misses or accident.
24000 flight hours is not a joke
Your gays you are still behind
What's so unique about these? KTN you need to give Us NEWS not such nonsense..
The news was not for those who have small mind of witch
To you but for some its ok
It's news to us bcoz it's the best pilot we have in our country so far. Let's learn how to appreciate each other, And stop racism as well. Thanks
Emily Abonyo its worth appreciating someone's hardwork
