I have made these basically every night for a week, my daughter who usually hates vegetables and beans tried these the first time I made them and now she loves them and wants one every night. She is autistic so hard to get her to like anything especially something that is good for her. So been making these and going to freeze them to keep her in sliders. Every day she asks me if I can keep making them. Great recipe, but now I have a falafel monster.

you can save lot of time , easily buy falafel dough " prepaid " from grocery store or arab grocery store .. all to do to fry it .. also you have fill pan with oil to end , soak balls on it .. will get nice brown color ,original falafel as made in middle east ... the way she cook it not the good one

Another way you can cook falafel patties - without oil - is to bake them in the oven for about 20 mins at 200 degrees Celsius on a baking paper lined tray... when I first tried it this way I thought they would stick to the paper, but you leave them on the tray to stand (on the countertop) for about 5-10 mins and then they come off the paper easily.

Delicious - my family enjoyed this amazing treat. We did throw in more veggies - Persian cucumber, heirloom tomatoes, red onions on ciabatta bread. The best part was we didn't feel heavy after the meal. Didn't take much time either. Thanks so much and keep 'em coming.

Loved this! I did use cilantro instead of parsley for more flavor. Definitely making again. They would be better fried (for crunch factor) but for health reasons, sautéing as suggested works too. Love, love, love the 2 sauces! Thanks Chloe.

I always get the falafel from a Greek restaurant near my college campus but it is so expensive! Thank you so much for this recipe it is delicious and I have the remaining patties in my freezer to eat during finals week! The best veggie burger I have made so far. It's better than my black bean patties :)

Just made it! Added more spices tho and bell peppers and fresh tomato and it tasted great! :) I also made it super spicy by adding crushed chilli and green chillies, oh and a bit of lemon juice! I'm not vegan but trying to slowly transition to eating meat max once a week so this was great :)

I find it funny when people say I've never tried vegan food before or this is the first time I've tried vegan food. Like they have never had an apple or a banana before, never had a salad, peanut butter & jelly sandwich, jam on toast, baked beans on toast, veggie curry, veggie soup with bread and not a single meal free from animal products in their lives.

You do realise that the thing you just described does actually happen in real life right ?
That this is even why there is such a thing as a "food desert" qualification in the US, and that this classification is not JUST about the lack of availability of fresh produce , and fresh veggies and fruits. But also about the fact that the eating culture in which you grow up is so meaty that kids can't even concieve a snack not containing an animal product of any kind.
So in reality it is not exactly funny but in fact quite sad AND alarming ...

Furaha Mungai I love falafel but I had this week alone: Duck, Skirt Steak, Baby Back Ribs, Prime Rib, Lox and Caviar. Think again. They're all so tasty AND healthy. Actually, of these falafel would probably give me the most stomach discomfort. Oops, I forgot, Filet Mignon too. But I had a salad with most of those meals with a healthy dose of EFA's. Always got to have EFA's.

The recipe with the measurements is down below, and you can add as much Tahini sauce, and avocado sauce as you prefer.
    FALAFEL SLIDERS
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained, divided
    ½ red onion, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, quartered
5 sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, drained
½ cup packed fresh Italian parsley
    1 teaspoon ground cumin
    1 teaspoon ground coriander
    1 teaspoon sea salt
½ cup garbanzo flour (or other flour of choice)
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    AVOCADO HUMMUS
¼ cup chickpeas, reserved from sliders
    1 avocado, pitted and peeled
1/3 cup packed fresh Italian parsley
    ¼ cup olive oil
    1 clove garlic
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    ½ teaspoon sea salt
    ¼ teaspoon cayenne
    TAHINI SAUCE
    ½ cup tahini
    ½ cup water
    1 clove garlic
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    ½ teaspoon salt
14 mini buns or dinner rolls sliced in half, toasted
    2 small tomatoes, thinly sliced
To make the Falafel Sliders: Reserve ¼ cup chickpeas for the Avocado Hummus. Place remaining chickpeas, onions, garlic, tomatoes, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and flour in a food processor and pulse until combined, stopping frequently to scrape down sides. Using the palms of your hands, form mixture into 2-inch by ½-inch patties.
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and pan-fry patties in batches, letting cook about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until nicely browned. Do not crowd the pan. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels.

Avocado, sesame and olive oil are healthy fats that benefit your heart and even promotes weight loss. By all means, you go ahead and use absolutely zero fats and carbs but refrain from making uneducated judgements about ingredients which you obviously have no knowledge about.

Amy Naidoo If it's processed olive oil, then the only thing it does is put taste to food. And if used for frying or saute, it becomes unhealthy. Use olives if you want it's real benefits. Check these facts with someone who knows best: Dr Michael Greger here on youtube, or Nutritionfacts.org

I had made this at home and it's way to salty for me... One Teaspoon of salt is not a good idea at all.

+Amanda Adam (life1147) if you made it with canned chickpeas its possible that they already had salt in it... next time just buy unsalted canned chickpeas :D :*

+Amanda Adam (life1147) I made these tonight. The tahini sauce and the patty were way too salty (I used sea salt, don't know what she used). Good thing I tasted them first. I added more chick peas and flour and they weren't as salty. I added more tahini, honey and some yogurt to the sauce because it was too salty and too much garlic. After all that, the garlic was still strong. I'm glad I found this recipe though. I just altered it to fit my taste.

By vegan food he obviously meant a vegan dish, apples are plain fruit, consumed by both vegans and non-vegans, there's no vegan label on it.

ok everybody needs to stop associating veganism with health just because it's vegan does not mean it has some type of health halo on it!!! :-) veganism doesn't have a damn thing to do with fat calories or carbs!!! do you know some is compassion love peace

Nice recipe, but truly, i see no need for all that oil in the pan. One tbsp should be enough.

    • @lolacollins1421

Thats because one teaspoon would cook it. She wanted to shallow fry it instead of deep fry, therefore more oil was needed than usual

Arkaidyn How is olive oil natural? Obviously OLIVES are natural but the oil is processed and therefore unnatural (and not as healthy as we once believed).
Coconut oil is the healthiest oil to cook with according to my research.
