Things like the void are easy to engage in because of their simplicity. This gives them a simple advantage. And I actually appreciate a little conflict because it gives us something to fight for. But don't tell them that.

I only just discovered this event just now, but I gotta say, I...
I'm appalled.
I'm appalled that I didn't find this sooner! This was absolutely amazing to see so many dedicated pixel artist groups forming together for a single purpose! It's things like these that make me proud that I am a brony, to see such openness with other factions and ultimately becoming united to find victory, and preserve art, that we can all enjoy.

You should hear about Stalingrad. The socialist subs made a USSR flag and a bunch of anarchist flags called "the far left side" and /r/the_donald and all the alt-right subs invaded and tried to destroy them. It was some of the most intense fighting in the whole event.

It was Rubberross.
The normal people are fine. I worked with a group that were allied to the bronies and they were all chill with them. Everyone understood that attacking for the sake of attacking is counterproductive and tactically a death sentence. It's the streamers and their countless parasocial minions that capitalized on destroying things because flashy stunts like that are good for content, and cry when things don't go their way.

I find it extremely ironic that Rainbow Dash didn't lose a wink of sleep while the brony fandom sacrificed their own sleep and well-being to protect Dash from the villainous void.
I also find it somewhat ironic that the "black border" that was ment to be a mere "extra" became so big and important for the later "estability" and diplomacy with other factions [eventually being used to encode extra information in the form of cutiemarks].
To be fair, Dashie is known for her laziness.

This was FASCINATING. I heard nothing of this event, and you did a great job explaining its intricacies.
It happened 2 years ago in Reddit. We were all exited to see this years april fools event but it was just some shitty button sharing thing that was days later then april 1st
I still love that after a war of the french and german flag, a EU flag was made to celebrate their union.
Even better. Germany and France flag formed, then Germany attacked France, France gave up the territory and fled north, a rainbow bridge flew across the collision and the EU was formed :D
I also negotiated with some of the german flag people to help let megumin's staff overlap with the right side.
I tried to imagine a motivational speech for the bronies before the beggining of this war, and that's what I imagine:

i was actually a greek /r/place soldier, the invasion by turkey was completely different in real life though, they started vandalizing the flag with red with us already knowing who it was, we were well cordinated which is why we were the ones who had them to send a sort of peace treaty.

Well. Day one is not even up yet, and we aren't performing very well. Our beloved Dashie was sliced in half by Ukraine, and Dashie slowly crumbled from there. Derpy was going strong until a Twitch streamer organized a mass griefing resulting in her disappearance. I'm afraid to say I was affected enough by this slow demise of Dashie, but it ultimately led to me saying things I didn't mean and being banned from Manechat. While I am isolated from what ideas we have in the days to come, I'll try my hardest to protect what is left of our art.

Let me make a correction: The Sans Faction was actually just part of a larger faction, Undertale. (This is visible by Papyrus, Flowey, and a Red Soul) Usually once anything Undertale shows up Sans follows quickly and is essentially the control tower of the Undertale Faction.

Well. r/place 2 has ended, and I have to say, this may be one of the greatest underdog stories in history. Despite our losses on day 1 and me ultimately getting banned from Manechat, I'm happy to say that I defended pony artwork till the very end. We were able to take on anyone that tried to stop us, and we had tons of our artwork stretched across the canvas. While it was sad to see the event go yet again, I'm very happy we've made our mark yet again, and it was nice to see the fandom unite together again. Some who left the fandom came back to help us in our struggles, and overall, this was more than just a bunch of pixels. It was an experience to live this out with everybody. As Sharon Carter said: "Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move... it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree... look them in the eye and say no, you move."

I'm not a brony myself, but this is considered a grand milestone for ALL communities and the internet as a whole. It really shows that an entire Earth's worth of history can be summarized in 3 days on the internet, with decisions like "enemy/ally" or "fight/surrender" being really prevalent both in this subreddit and human nature. It's like history repeating itself in one little page.
They fought hard to preserve the image that brought them through the tough times and that put smiles on their faces and how the different fandom's got together to fight the void

Our ancestors will pass along this tale for decades. Just the crystal artwork alone got raided and rebuilt 22 times. We faced far greater opposition this year and yet came out even stronger than 2017
This was so cool to listen to. I implore you to make more videos like these, just talking about Brony history. I enjoyed this video very much and reminded me that this community could be one of the most amazing ones out there when it comes to certain things. It's very inspiring to hear and see the valiant efforts the bronies made to ensure Dashie got a good night's sleep, and protected her soundly as the storm raged around her.
This just shot back some reminiscent memories. I was originally a soldier for The Void, but by the 2nd day, ended up deserting The Void to protect Rainbow Dash.

Can't wait to see your sequel documentary to second event. Please be sure to mention the part where twitch streamer xQcOW got upsetty spaghetti that his twitch logo kept being destroyed so he attempted to counter destroy the whole canvas with a PURPLE void using his 150,000 followers to do so. He actually managing to destroy the ponies breifly --UNTIL THANKFULLY-- all of reddit banded together to destroy all the purple pixels and restore balance to the canvas which included returning the ponies to their rightful spot. Truely one exciting sequel event to the great pixel war.
It still rages on at this moment. But for now it appears as through victory is assured. But we must keep fighting into the night and beyond!
The Brony faction isn't doing to good in the new r/place so far. Rainbow Dash got decapitated by the giant Ukraine swarm and then got swallowed a bunch of heart. And Derpy got turned into Pepe the Frog.

I watched my squad die in the Second Battle of the Blue Corner. The trenches were covered in cold, blue blood. I won’t ever get those images out of my head.
We all lost good men that day. Never forget.
