Great point on local issues. The homelessness and drug problem in Denver is lost in the weeds. It's really sad watching people dehumanized and lying on the streets. The narrative of a housing shortage just doesn't cut it. It's terrible leadership, ridiculous policies, and disabling the police. It's an embarrassment to the city and carefully covered up.
Good morning! Loved this episode - need to get my husband to listen/watch it. But a question on reading history: while I don't have a problem with an interest in reading about historical topics, I usually don't because I don't know good, trust-worthy unbiased authors. Does Mark have any authors he recommends (across any historical topics)? Many thanks!
Please do invest on whats happening in the other side of the world. With america being a g8 member. You do decide the fate of other people when you go to elections.
I didn't used to care about politics since I am a moderate. However, the crazy extremist Republicans gerrymandered Michigan and made the pass rate for the bar exam drop from 70% to 50% to reduce legal representation for the public to protect business. I had to care then because I had to understand the politics at play to pass the bar exam which was turned into a political litmus test by the GOP. I had to write my answers for the new Republican board members super conservative/fascist and write normally for the legacy board members. You have to care enough about politics to know what is going on because it will definitely affect your life and you do have some influence on politics by voting. I don't give a f@ck what Manson thinks.
South Park tried the weaponized indifference thing and it's a key tenant for Gen Xers like myself, but there's a difference between letting things you can't control control you and being indifferent.
I give minimal f's about politics. Individuals have minimal influence on what people in power do. All we can do is vote, and even that isn't a perfect system. Why pay the price of my own sanity and peace? People who spend 12 hrs a day obsessing about politics on the Internet, criticizing people on their moral high horse should look in the mirror
I’m not even American, so all these US election things are not really for me to care about 😂 I’m purely watching this for “entertainment”. 😅 In general we need to stand for more moderate, more rational reporting though. It will just advance matters more when everyone can talk about issues in a more level-headed way.
Everyone should give a shit about politics. These people make decisions on YOUR life, it’s important, so care and pay attention. And no, they all aren’t the same. That’s an excuse to not vote and be ‘undecided’.
@@factorfitness3713 it does not matter if i do or do not complain, the rich and wealthy people or organizations with the money and power have control over the U.S, weither i vote or not, it doesnt change anything
Orange man bad. Weird how the successful, promoted, represented authors (Tim, Mark, Ryan, Adam G, Seth, Cal) all share the same politics. What came first?

Couldn't agree more with you guys. I try to explain this to people who insist on talking politics with me. Not as articulate as you guys though lol

Thats the sad true, Espacially US politics. I tried to stay out of it as much as i can and not to be consumed by the daily events.

Ultimately the root problem is gov overreach and statist power.

I don't vote in presidental elections, I never will. If I was business owner, maybe, I would vote.
Most of ppl are dumbs, so in democracy there's no point.

Mark’s not the same as Ryan. Mark might actually be on the right. He says some vaguely pro-capitalist stuff in Subtle Art

@@Limpshot_McGeeClassic. Being liberal is now ‘RW.’ Shows how far the Left have gone Left.
Not everything is a conspiracy, homie. Everyone likes or dislikes different people for different reasons.
