The no shoes is an Aussie thing. You'll get used to it, and if you don't, we don't give a fuck. 😂 Subscribed, brother.
I'm still a fan of the barefoot, and still whine when i knock a bit of bark off lol
The no shoes thing is a non black thing…. Not an Aussie thing,
@@maxbecker5252the fuck?... No it's an Aussie thing... Lots of us white and black regularly don't wear shoes even in public.
Also... From what I've seen , in entirely black neighbourhoods ( both Aboriginal here, or African American there) also regularly wear no shoes when their hanging out in the street or going to the park...
You're comment is weird
@@maxbecker5252 ya what? Yeah nah it's not a colour thing, you must be a yank to think that way.
@@capatheist I'm guessing yank, they think in term's of colour.
Musical Genius - he played Judas in a version of Jesus Christ Superstar and wrote the musicals Groundhog Day and Matilda. The beauty of this is it misdirects you as to the word but the word people assume it was going to be still applies to the whole song. The point that Prejudice is inherently stupid never goes away.
For people who dont know a Ginger Nut is a type of biscuit/cookie.
Saw him as Judas just before Covid hit, he was phenomenal.
Gents a genius. Check out all his works...and graduation speeches.
Tim is self taught on the piano. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate to the UWA for his services to global entertainment, his acceptance speech is outstanding and worthy of a reaction.
Storm, Thank you God, and Lullaby are my favorites. A different vibe, but White Wine in the Sun is also nice.
Tim has something for everyone, whether it's comedy or beautiful vocals. Comedy - Lullaby, Thank You God, If you really Loved Me. Beautiful vocals - Lonely Tonight or Carry You.
The reason for the matchstick reference is because in Australia the most common brand of matches used to be called Redheads...
Suggestion JM: "Inflatable You".....at a breast cancer show. Hilarious!
BTW - ginger nuts are hard cookies that need to be dunked into tea to be able to eat....lol.....and "a tinge of the ginge in your minge" refers to ones lower abdominal region. I'm certain someone here will tell you all about the amazing things Tim has written for musicals. He's brilliant!
😂 as a " ginger " I found that funny. I grew up in a very small town; every one got a nickname. I had a couple. Red, of course and Casper. You're probably to young to know about the cartoon Casper the Friendly Ghost. My skin is so white that I got picked on endlessly.
In Australia a guy with red hair is called Blue or Bluey.
On a weirdly related note, Tim Minchin's son is named Casper.
@@kennethdodemaide8678did you notice Tims hair colour at the beginning. I'm almost certain it was done on purpose. Btw, your point is also why Mr Branson called his Australian branch of his Airlines, Virgin Blue, he has even admitted as such
@@piperbird7193 why do i have the feeling that is no coincidence? Bit like a biker calling his kid Harley, or Duke. its typical humour of Tim me thinks.
ha ha...I remember the first time I heard this. I laughed so hard!!!!
thanks, I need this today.
ginger nuts are cookies in australia
Biscuits, yes 😂
JM.... Your words are powerful, the only reason I watch your reactions. Really Interesting Stuff.
I noticed the Thumb for this video says..."Simply Red"... Smiles, nobodies perfect. Have a Splendid Day
FIXED....Smiles
As an Irish American i found thus one hilarious! Ty JM ☘️
Ah, so an American 👍🏻 got ya.
There is a popular brand of cookies in Australia called "Ginger nuts". They dip them in tea.
What's even more interesting with the plant experiment (you can all do it, or a similar thing with rice jars - plenty of that on UA-cam) is that the worst thing isn't bad treatment, it's being totally ignored
You need to do lullaby by him
It what every new parents go through
He wrote this after his first child been born
Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
I love his song White Wine in the Sun makes me cry every Christmas.
Aussie slack on gingers is pretty hectic lol
Hard to type out but my fav of his is 10 Foot C__k and a Few Hundred Virgins. Also Three Minute Song and White Wine in the Sun are amazing.
The first two notes played like that are the same as Chicago - "Searching So Long"
Check out "Storm, Darkside, or Perfect" by Tim Minchin
Tim is an Australian legend, you should watch the pope song and my personal favourite Thank you god.
Great performance to Spark Up My Pipe and smile at both his thoughts and yours. Every group has their own words used to describe them by others. I'm supposed to be a "Supremacist" ... since birth for some reason, but lately I guess I'm just an "Old Hippie"
words . . . . man, oh man. So dangerous, in the wrong mouths.
Gingerphobia is a real thing, even though it sounds like a joke😅😂😂😂
Please, since you've done some Motown, please react to "Color Him Father" by the Winstons (album version, not the live version). Maybe before Fathers Day?? Thanks, love your channel and reactions!
Smart, nicely done. I suggest if you happen to be born a "Ginger".... SIMPLY call yourself RED and write some great tunes, get a band, make some cool videos... get famous, just sayin
Tim is actually extremely intelligent.. i saw a video of him attending the graduation of students at his old uni here in Perth WA. He didn't actually set out on this career path if i recall correctly but his advice to the grads was 'as you walk toward your life goal v- don't forget to see the opportunities in your peripherals' or something like that.
Enjoy 🤙got lost
