For anyone trying to play DQ 8 you have to change Hardware mode to unsynchronized or else it'll struggle. Even the Odin 2 struggles in some instances without this setting changed
The best way to play DQ 8 is on 3ds. The improvements and quality of life makes the 3ds version the best version. The menus and the map is easier to navigate.
@Coincollector81 you make a good point, I tried both before deciding on the PS2 version. With the Odin 2 upscaled at 3X it basically looks like a modern port/remake. That's what sold me on it. I also dock my Odin to play on the TV so the PS2 was better for that.
Thank you for this! I’ve been considering getting one of these to play the original Devil May Cry and Onimusha games. Its so awesome that we can play all of these on handhelds now😭🔥
Ive noticed that with some games the compatibility is seemingly bad with AetherSX2 just in general. Having a better processor like in the Odin 2 can definitely force slightly better performance but there will still be bad graphical issues or bad slowdown. Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, Rogue Galaxy and Hitman Contracts are examples I’ve run into big problems with on the Rg556
Which one do you prefer to play?Rg556 or RP4PRO?DID you test the same game where you were not able to play?which is better for you?i saw different videos but is always a 50/50 battle 🤔😂i want buy one console that can emulate PS2 for good. For exemple if GOW is not playble on rg556,is it playble on RP4PRO?
The video is fantastic, I’m going to take advantage of several game suggestions from your video, thank you. Ah, I would like to know which program you used to catalog the game covers? I know you used Google Sheets, but would you like to know how you put the game covers?
I'll buy one of these when they come pre-loaded with games... I have zero interest spending half a day setting up an Android tablet with joysticks attached after blowing $500 AUD on it...
If you did any research you would know ALL of these systems can be bought with games pre installed. 500 aud? Try 275 aud for this one...again do some research and click his description for links instead of pulling numbers out of thin air.
Just a tip, after buying this with pre installed games make sure to clone it with another branded sd card. Because the sd card they provide is very low quality and can easily get corrupted.
Thank you so very much for posting this, your format is great and I was wondering about the rg556
Glad you enjoyed it!
Castlevania curse of darkness was the ONLY reason I was looking at handhelds. Ty for showing it!

Thanks for the suggestion mate!

Have fun! Onimusha 3 is the one that may not be playable. The frame drops durong cutscenes a lot
@@monospacechannel use pal edition (50hz), enable manual hardware fix, skip draw end value is 3. You can play pretty well.
thank you homospace for this video
lmao
Pmsl 😂
Goated format
This Chipset should handle most if not all PS2 games at native resolution.

I would say most, as some games just doesn't seem to be playable at all!
@@monospacechannel At native resolution they should be fine. Also Vulkan helps.

Emulation wise it's about the same. Screen wise I prefer rg556, grip wise rg556. Pocketability definitely RP4Pro
Hi bro is it normal for rg556 battery to drain very fast when playing ps2 games? I mean like 10% for 10 min of gameplay
Mine is usually not that fast. Perhaps try to use the standard settings instead of the high performance one!
Hi, im planning on buying this model and revisit some of the nostalgic ps2 games. Does onimusha not detect analog stick?
The video is fantastic, I’m going to take advantage of several game suggestions from your video, thank you.

Thanks mate! For the tier list app I just looked through an online and free tier list website
Great video, could you test it on the Wii too? I would like to see his performance in Pandora Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story.
pocket 4 pro or rg556? I'm going to take it for myself, what do you recommend?
No idea but I felt Rg556 feels better in my hands! Love the screen too. But for pocketability definitely the rp4 pro
Will It Play Crash Bandicoot The Wrath Of Cortex Perfectly
Yes

Im after a retroid 4 pro , wouldyou recommended this instead ?
Infinitely more comfortable and kicks the shit out of the RP4 Pro's screen quality with the OLED.
Agree with you, better screen and better handle. But go for the RP4Pro if you want something pocketable
Silent hill 3 work well ?
Need more tests on the t820 chip
Hello comment ajouter des jeux Ps2 dans la machine ?
I downloaded gta san andreas and installed it but it wont work, it asked for the second cd
Hmm ever got that, I suggest try using another ROM/version
@@monospacechannel had to unzip it, the file didn’t look like a zip but it was so I extracted and it worked! Thanks for answering
Ive been having a hard time getting Gran Turismo 4 to play decent
Thankyou bro, how about valkyrie profile ps2?
If youre gonna gov this route the best handehdl console you have is your phone since most phone jave superior screens and chipsets
devil may cry 3 sadly plays slow in this ): dunno why show devil may cry 2 out of all of them lol
Lol not true, Just set it to Opengl and you're good to go. Mine works great with very minimal slowdown on some places.
A PS2 Game that's hard to run on anything below a Snapdragon 865 is Poinie's Poin also Finny the Fish and the Seven Waters.
How big your memory card
Took a 128 GB micro sd card for this video
Bro... if i want to play ps1 with full screen... are the game gonna look bad?
Strectched for sure, but still enjoyable
@@monospacechannel ok thanks
try basara heroes plz

I feel like we can make some of the games more playable by tweaks.
The screen looks terrible in terms of colours
To be honest I like thr RG556's screen better than the Retroid!
