Kaleah Collins what does it matter weather she’s black, white, Asian or owt else. Get a grip it’s almost 2020 why does it matter what race they are???😤🤔
I'm still yet to meet someone in the physical world who adores Little Dragon. I have asked around in person only to be laughed at! I would like to thank the heavens for letting this celestial band exist. :)
That's because you have good taste in music. I LOVE Little Dragon. I doubt I'll find anyone I know who listens to them. Almost everyone I know listens to what's on the radio.
It’s the lunacy of giving yourself and your bodily autonomy to a higher power. Not really empowering, quite the opposite, really; But seriously abstract and beautiful
Apparently this is a common feeling. I was about to say I'd prefer some home footage of them performing or something. It's nothing against the video, I just don't see the two connecting
I was at a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in St. Louis a couple years ago and Little Dragon opened for them. I had never heard of them before, and they flat out blew me away. Their live show was unforgettable, and it opened the door to a whole new world of sounds and feelings. The soul, the grooves, the haunting yet beautiful melodies.
Found this song from Forza Horizon 2 and so many other great songs but this by far is the most memorable and best sounding sonically ... I love this song with all my heart 😝🤘
Was wondering which Forza it was from, I'm trucking in American truck simulator right now and it came on through My shuffle, I think FH2 was my favorite, amazing soundtrack too
I finally found this song after 8 years. I heard it once when I was younger & I’ve been searching ever since. I’m happy to have found this gem of a song!
I've been listening to Little Dragon since Ritual Union and I'm just so happy at how much bigger their fan base has gotten over the years. They're going to get even more popular now that Crystalfilm is in GTA V.
from the first hearing alone i fell in love with their sound , still i am amazed how many years it has been now and they have stood time evolving their style and sound again, its astounding how they make you feel without any visuals while you are listening they make you feel how they want you to feel .
I love little dragon, & this song is so them and this album gone be off tha hook ..i listen to all three albums every day..Even my 4yr old knows her songs word for wrd...we love you Little Dragon
LOVE this track and LOVE Little Dragon's music and vibe so much!! One of the best bands I discovered way too late in life!! The coded symbolism and metaphors in this visual along with their others are crazy!! Every LD album is literally a completely new experience, they keep reinventing themselves and always do it so well and innovatively!! Much love and blessings from Canada to everyone reading this!!
Discovered the wonderment that is Little Dragon after this stunner of a song randomly played on Vevo one day. I immediately disappeared down the LD rabbithole from which, nearly ten years later, I am yet to emerge. As much as I love their other songs, I think I will always treasure this one the most- because when I heard it I suddenly became aware of this incredible new (for me) band that I just had to know more about. It was like a whole new world of possibility opening up to me. Love this band so much! I must have heard this song a thousand times, but to this day the moment I hear *that* bassline I get chills.
This is quite beautiful and haunting. Taylor Cohen's cinematography as well as the actress in this vid compliments Little Dragon's exceptionally steeped in mood composition.
I've been a fan of these guys for a while, but every time I watch this it reminds me of why I love their music. I love the video, too, everything about it.
I haven't heard this song in like a handful of years and I tried to look it up a year or two ago but couldn't remember the name of it. Thanks God or UA-cam for helping find it for me. I love this song! 🤩
The new music video of Pretty Girls is out now ! Watch the next part of the adventure of the gloomy girl of Klapp Klapp here : Little Dragon - Pretty Girls
This song is supposed to be about suicide. Perhaps this video is about the after-math. The woman is the lover, friend, or relative of whoever committed the suicide. She is struck with grief and goes a little off the deep end, refusing to accept the death. She attempts, in the beginning, to receive help from her original religion, but finds no relief or whatever she was looking for during the scene in the temple. She then turns to more dubious practices to resurrect her loved one at the end and succeeds.
_"She then turns to more dubious practices to resurrect her loved one at the end and succeeds"_ ...sounds like _Clarissa and Tolman_ from _Path of Exile._
Someone needs to tell Little Dragon that their great song 'Klap Klap' is playing daily in Target department stores and freaking out people who need to concentrate on buying American junk!
And they did it again! TRUE LD fans will understand this one is a jammer! When you follow an amazing band like LD, you grow, evolve with them and can recognize another smash hit when you hear it. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEW ALBUM! They will be in Houston in June AHH! Got my ticket!
Ever since that milk commercial last year, been insanely infatuated with Yukimi's voice and the bands amazing work. Beats and melody always sound top notch and smooth. Love Little Dragon
A. This song is amazing B. the demon children at 2:25 freak me out to no end C. Every time I watch this (too many times) I get amazing chills at the very last scene when her lover comes back to life. Bravo Little Dragon, and bravo Taylor Cohen with NABIL. Can't wait for the new album to come out. Side note - kinda wish I knew who the actress was. She's beautiful and played her role as the love-lost voodoo woman quite well.
The risen is her soul mate, not just a lover, and their kids were risen by her already. They were likely killed in some type of land dispute in which their home was destroyed and the man and their two children were murdered. She ran away and became enthralled with voodoo. Being a childless widow, Southern states during that time would have had her sold into servitude, she felt compelled to get her family back by the literal blood of her own hands.
[Verse 1] Corridor lies with the river run watery eyes I stand waiting' for my turn, determined to rise The spirits blew around like a hurricane whip The girls who melt like my ice cream drip [Chorus] Somebody from his head said You can turn off and feel better When everything's clear like cold weather Go feel better, feel better Somebody from my heart said I could turn off and never wake up When everything's clear, my breath made Like steam fade, feel better [Refrain] Fallin' apart, apart, apart, apart, apart [Verse 2] Finally they called my name The ghost inside come wake us to life Making my chair do flips Yet giving into this will be savin' me time Fallin' through the floor on my broken butterfly wing Gimme me one more, the girl from the corridor sing, she sing I hear you want it, don’t you? I know you want it, don’t you? Don’t you? I see you want it, don't you? I know you want it, don't you? Don't you? [Refrain x2] + [Chorus] [Bridge] Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you? Do you? (She says) Do you? Do you? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you? Do you? (She says) Do you? Do you?
They will be here in Asheville NC next month...which is 3 hours away from where I stay. I. CANNOT. WAIT. I saw them a couple of years ago at Terminal 5 in NY when they were touring their Ritual Union album. That shit was bonkers. Questlove DJ'ed and I ran into Mos Def. Amazing. They keep getting better and better. I love Yukimi's vocals on this record, totally a Yukima groupie, My favorite band of all time hands down. See you guys on June 18th!
This is quite a wonderful piece of art. From the lyrics to the music, the lyrics and her soulful voice. I myself am a believer of the Almighty and even though this video and the lyrics are pretty controversial.......that might be one of the points. But even more so, if you read the lyrics, the song is pretty sad; but the music makes it a little easier to take in. This song ventures into the morbid thoughts of a guy contemplating suicide and it goes even deeper by showing the other persons side of the event "Somebody from his head said You can turn off and feel better When everything's clear like cold weather Go feel better, feel better Somebody from my heart said I could turn off and never wake up When everything's clear, my breath made Like steam fade, feel better" The video is a nice viewpoint as well. If the actress' character killed herself, the video might have gotten banned, but instead they show a girl who just looses it. Ultimately not living her life. Consumed by trying to resurrect her loved one,she is dying. It's either one or the other. Your living or dying. Beautiful
I'm sorry Carlton I have to ask how deeply rooted are you as a believer? I've seen so many people tormented by spirits because of association with groups that practice this stuff or just dabbled in it. It's not poetic or beautiful. I was loving little Dragon as a group until this set of videos (watched pretty girls too) was produced. Music is very influential and the eyes are window of the soul. It shocked me honestly and had me staring mouth dropped asking this isn't what I think it is? I'm not quick to pass judgment. But as I work in deliverance ministry and see the pain and fear in these people caused by tormenting spirits, I can honestly speak from a place off experience and not just condemning bc of something I've read. I prayerfully ask you to ask God his view of what is displayed here and get his answer on it. When we lean on our own determinations of what's good and bad according to our knowledge we learn we can be quite faulty.

Juanica Thomas What has your silly religion got to do with it?
but to comment on Ms. Thomas' view......Our mother nation of Africa has been practicing Vodou most likely from the beginning of time. Yes alot of the imagery is disturbing but thats a common reaction of things misunderstood.
+Aggrias Oaks Yep it is the prequel. The actress is called Julieta Rodriguez www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/zombies-crash-beauty-pageant-in-little-dragons-creepy-new-video-20140702
just came here remember Little Dragon since I first found out about them from Plastic Beach. this is like the first song I heard from them. its pretty good tbh
I like a lot of the ideas, kudos and concerns people have conveyed about this video. To me the imagery of the fires blazing in the intro, and the undeadish- ashen and ghostly looking children who watch her dig up the grave implies that her village has been burnt to the ground. She seems to be avenging, grieving, as well as reversing the wrongs done to her and hers. I think that sheds light on the lyrics also; it is a pivotal point where a person chooses to either ingest the burning coals of anger that arise from life and its tragedies, or otherwise return them to the sender.... with voodoo zombies!
Jennifer Heniken ...one of the few enjoyable comments here. I was amazed at the number of hardcore Christians who seem to get hung up on the imagery (and the lyrics, to some extent), while I was ready to write the video off as some artsy bullshit that I couldn't really be bothered to think about in any depth (mostly because I don't really enjoy their music all that much). But yours is actually a very interesting interpretation. Thanks.
Jennifer Heniken Spot on - my critique on revenge or returning to sender is the opposite of what you should do because revenge twists the heart and its a step towards becoming just like if not worst than those who wronged you. When you become the very thing you hate, you come to hate yourself - it is self destructive in every sense. Great analysis btw.
Anon Smith but it perfectly fits with 'proprietary morality' and the idea that someone 'reaps what they sow.' you have to remember that creole religions belong to a marginalised people. sometimes what people need is justice, and many times the institutions of man are unjust or inaccessible. that's where the justice of god takes precedence.
Jin Theninja I don't have to remember anything about Creoles-I was raised by one. Not sure what you're arguing but the fact that humans feel they don't have a system in place to dole out justice is not worth- like I said above- corrupting yourself. That is why God said, "Vengeance is Mine". Because you really cant get revenge without committing a sin. You reap what you sow is from the idea that God has the universe set up (i.e.-Karma) that whatever you dish out, good or bad, will come back to you tenfold. The idea was not to be applied to someone taking justice into their own hands. Because once they do, THEY in turn will reap what they sow--get it?
My brother in law Erik Bodin is the drummer... so proud!!!!
Your brother-in-law is very cool, you're very lucky!!
He's ahmazing!!!!
He married a black chick
Kaleah Collins what does it matter weather she’s black, white, Asian or owt else. Get a grip it’s almost 2020 why does it matter what race they are???😤🤔

Pretty true I could never play this in front of my friends it would be to awkward and wired for them they'd all be giving me the wtf face!!!
It's really good music though. They might like it if they like good music.
Your name lmao. Thats perfect.

Whoever produced this beat is a GIFTED INDIVIDUAL

This song gives me goosebumps. What a underrated masterpiece.
Is it just me or does this song get better each time you listen to it?
This song is still straight fire. The whole album, too. LD is timeless
little dragon is so talented. not only is the lead singer a beautiful singer and master poet, the production on all their tracks is genius.
When everything's clear like cold weather. Being a New England native this has meaning for me. Nothing better..
Decades of love for little dragon 🐲💞🐉💓💗
That bass thump to accompany the shovel dig at 2:22 is absolute production perfection. That attention to detail 🤌🏻
1:34 I love how that drumline returns.
I'm here for the song. I'm just not sure what I should be interpreting from the visual.
Either way, This album couldn't be farther away! I need it!
I feel the exact same. I'm not sure how they add up.
Apparently this is a common feeling. I was about to say I'd prefer some home footage of them performing or something. It's nothing against the video, I just don't see the two connecting
Sometimes art doesn't make sense. Isn't it what it's supposed to be?

They said this song isn't supposed to mean anything. The music is just supposed to give you the feeling of some super power and stuff.
Well that's your interpretation
And I hope you know that this is part of a trilogy?

C. Every time I watch this (too many times) I get amazing chills at the very last scene when her lover comes back to life.
Bravo Little Dragon, and bravo Taylor Cohen with NABIL. Can't wait for the new album to come out.

[Verse 1]
Corridor lies with the river run watery eyes
I stand waiting' for my turn, determined to rise
The spirits blew around like a hurricane whip
The girls who melt like my ice cream drip
[Chorus]
Somebody from his head said
You can turn off and feel better
When everything's clear like cold weather
Go feel better, feel better
Somebody from my heart said
I could turn off and never wake up
When everything's clear, my breath made
Like steam fade, feel better
[Refrain]
Fallin' apart, apart, apart, apart, apart
[Verse 2]
Finally they called my name
The ghost inside come wake us to life
Making my chair do flips
Yet giving into this will be savin' me time
Fallin' through the floor on my broken butterfly wing
Gimme me one more, the girl from the corridor sing, she sing
I hear you want it, don’t you?
I know you want it, don’t you? Don’t you?
I see you want it, don't you?
I know you want it, don't you? Don't you?
[Refrain x2] + [Chorus]
[Bridge]
Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it?
Do you? Do you? (She says) Do you? Do you?
Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it? Do you want it?
Do you? Do you? (She says) Do you? Do you?

Who is this biracial beauty in the video?
Julieta Rodriguez
How can u know she's biracial just like that
king k Because it takes one to know one. No need to get offended.
Sazid _ umm... When your parents are of two different races, you're biracial. Bi = two
She is Black. Afro-Dominican to be precise.
If Little Dragon has made a bad song, I haven't heard it. Every song by them has been gold to my ears.
Is this the zombie lady from Little Dragons - "Pretty girl" song?
So this would be like a prequel video>?
+Aggrias Oaks Yep it is the prequel. The actress is called Julieta Rodriguez

Love this song. The last 45 seconds just blow me away.
Thanks.
Thank you!
Great analysis btw.

but it perfectly fits with 'proprietary morality' and the idea that someone 'reaps what they sow.'
you have to remember that creole religions belong to a marginalised people. sometimes what
people need is justice, and many times the institutions of man are unjust or inaccessible. that's where the justice of god takes precedence.
