Thanks for the activation and great video Aaron. Appreciate the QSO at 7:41. Got you in the log 4 times now and looking forward to many more log entries. 73, Tom ND9Z
Aaron can I send a new comment. Please allow me to thank you for posting your content on UA-cam, thanks to you and a few other people, I got my call sign last night/tonight. Just last month I was listening to you all on a road trip. Your gear looks like my existing camera gear, and I also live near a state park. Thanks man! KE9BHN
Thank you for saying this! These kinds of comments are exactly why I keep making videos. I’m glad they have been helpful to you! I look forward to getting you in the log book on the air 🍻
Great activation Aaron, uncomplicated, simple and successful. Thank you for sharing. I have to tell you, I love that hat, where did you get it? Thank You
You’re probably right! It looks like a cross between a 705 and a Yaesu FT-710. I dig it. We will see how good it is! I already put in a reservation for one.
@@w4arb I have an FT-710; nice radio, but… I still enjoy my Elecraft K2(s) - yes I have more than one - too much to use the FT-710 all the time. I’m on the fence on putting a deposit on the new Yaesu QRP radio.
The K2 is a legendary radio! In my opinion, the “best” radio is the one that you enjoy using the most, because that’s what gets you on the air! My favorite rig at home is a Kenwood TS-590S. No waterfall, no fancy screen, just good performance, audio, buttons and knobs! :)
Very nice!! Which bioenno depends on 1) How much power you will be using, and 2) How long will you be operating. In this case, I am running a max of 100 watts so I need a battery that can handle 20+ amps continuous discharge. Then I want to be able to operate for at least one hour at 100 watts. At 50% duty cycle (transmitting 50% of the time), 20 amps discharge, that’s 10 Amp Hours (shown as “Ah” in the batteries), plus 30 minutes of receiving at 2 amps, that means I need at least an 11Ah battery for operating 100W for one hour at 50% duty cycle. So I use the BLF-1212A which is a 12 Ah battery, and is the perfect shape to fit in the water bottle pocket of my backpack. Plus I actually operate at 50W, and in real world it’s more like 25% duty cycle. So I can reliably get 3+ hours of operating out of it. Hope that helps, sorry for the long winded response!
That would be a lot of fun. Right now just isn’t a good time for me to do that with little kids and my job keeping me very just. That’s why I activate at 6:00 AM :) 73!
I just make these videos for fun, and that would take way too long. There are other channels that do that though and I think it’s awesome they have the time to! 73
Thanks again for your video. I finally hooked up with you for a couple QSOs on the 28th. 73 Bob WB6TIS
Great to get you in the log!! Hope to catch you again soon. 73
Great activation and a very cool hat! Looking forward to trying out the new Yaesu. 73 de N4AAJ
Me too- Always exciting to have a new option of full featured radio. 73!
I like your chair with its built-in tray for the FT-891. Another great activation.
Thanks! it comes in handy.
@@w4arb Hi Aaron, what table is that and where is it available? 73 Bob WB6TIS
Hi Bob, it’s this Coleman chair with side table: amzn.to/4e4yBWY

Congratulations on the new callsign! Welcome!! de David AE4LH
@@o2bnov0307 Thanks David AE4LH, I'm really nervous, but I'll also be stuck in the Technician gulag at 10m
If you are doing CW, tech has some privileges on 40m and 15m too! :)

Aaron I understood 50% of that. Q: How did you choose which Bioenno battery? They all look identical and they're all 3-4#s. Going to HRO Friday.
