Te Tai finally laid to rest; Ukrainian major pays tribute

- Kane Te Tai, the New Zealand soldier who died while fighting in Ukraine has finally been laid to rest. Te Tai died while fighting Russian forces in Donetsk, to the east of Ukraine. He was involved in a bloody firefight while clearing a trench.

Our Ukrainian family who came safe to Auckland went to Kane Te Tai's service to pay their respects. We were all heartbroken when the week after we learnt of him saving the Ukrainian POWs life he lost his own. He won't be forgotten here in NZ or in UA
when I saw this guy on tv in Ukraine defending righteousness and freedom it was sad to hear his passing Kia kaha great mana.

I hope it's a comfort to Kane's friends and family that he died a hero, doing what most of us are unable to do. He died a righteous man, fighting for freedom and decency and, unlike many of us who will be forgotten by all except family and a few friends, Kane will be remembered with our other heroes in perpetuity. RIP Kane.

You are either an idiot or a ruzzian troll. A Google search for "Ukrainian army dress uniform" brings up untold uniforms that look exactly like that. Also, in your opinion, why would someone dress up and pretend to be an army officer to attend the funeral of some dude on the other side of the world? He is the commanding officer of Kane's unit and accompanied his body home. Ukranians know how to show respect to their fallen heroes.
That's why parents need to be responsible for their children. Even afult children. Went and died fighting in a conflict he had no clear understanding of.
Now his actions will forever be a bloodstain on his ancestors and his people. Going to the other side of the planet to murder aome people is why his culture and identity are being destroyed every day.
