If you're looking for street stalls, definitely head north to Penang (about 4 hours by bus) --- there are hawker food stalls everywhere within Georgetown. Food and lodging are exceptionally inexpensive relative to US/Canadian standards. The atmosphere is very much like the Richmond, BC summer night market, except the food is much tastier and way cheaper in Penang. Alternatively you can head south to Singapore which has lots of food centers populated with stalls selling local foods. KL to Singapore is about the same distance as to Penang. However if there is a traffic jam at the Johore/Singapore border it may be quite a wait. I had a trip planned for Singapore and Penang in May but had to postpone due to the coronavirus outbreak. Happy eating!

They die not being able to speak fluent bahasa Malaysia. It only takes the Chinese and Indians 3 months in Australia to make them able to speak English with Australian accent. Incredible isn't it? Living in Malaysia for 100 years and still cannot speak proper bahasa Malaysia but 3 months in Australia and they sounded 100% ozzie
DoseofDJ But you will see chinese and english used more in some places. That’s because we have minorities who aren’t using and practicing national language but only their homeland countries. I hate when you guys say this country is multiracial and diverse like it’s a good thing.

The high pole Lion dance is a distinct feature of Malaysian Chinese culture, it originates in Muar within the southern Malaysian state of Johor, today some Lion dance crews also features members outside of the Chinese community. Very easy to make videos as there so much great things in KL.
@@DoseofDJ enjoy ur Malaysia Trip n have fun.God Bless😊
Malaysia is blessed with a lot of food choices. When foreigners come to Malasia for work and you hear the word... Let's have a coffee break for 10 minutes... U can expect a buffet and it quickly becones a 30 minutes time off actually.
Great video guys! Looks like it gave your channel some nice traction early in the game! I was there during xmas and found myself in the middle of a totally unexpected celebration by thousands of people of all religious groups in the middle of Bukit Bintang. It was awesome. After two months in Indonesia, I'm going back to KL tomorrow for a few days and then plan to hit Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu on the way back to the Philippines. Keep up the good work and enjoy your travels!
Awesome! KL is a great place and hope you are enjoying your travels as well!
Great vlog... Durian cream puff ... WOW... we want one... we’re going in a month... where were these please?
we got it at the Lot 10 Hutong Food Court. Super delicious!
Durian is seasonal.
@@DoseofDJ if u love Durian, do come in month of June, it is the starting of Durian's season
We love Malaysian food! and yes nasi Kandar and nasi Lemak :) the haircut is quite cheap too...ohh durian! musangking durian is our FAV

The high pole Lion dance is a distinct feature of Malaysian Chinese culture, it originates in Muar within the southern Malaysian state of Johor, today some Lion dance crews also features members outside of the Chinese community. This form of dance is also a unique feature of some School's co-curriculum activities. P.S if you guys are coming back anytime soon just skip Chinatown Kl just a lousy tourist trap and just head to Penang for more authenticity.
Oh wow didn't know that about high pole Lion dance! Thanks for sharing!! Also, we wish we knew that about Chinatown KL before going as we fell into that trap haha
Thank you for the nice words on our city. Please come to visit us again.
We will!
Great shots of Kuala Lumpur! Do visit Penang in North Malaysia on your next visit. You'll find lots of good food there.
we shall add it on our list to visit!
Glad you love Malaysia! I'm Malaysian! Born and bred! xx

Will add it to our list!
You guys just met one's of most famous Buskers in Malaysia .
Yeah so talented!
english languange here is important, like we learnt it even from a really young age. We even learnt the english subject from primary sch and high sch maybe even from kindergarden. So i very confident to say that every malaysian can speak eng and ofc its easier for tourists to communicate with :)
well I've been learning english since i was in kindergarten... Now ( im 15) and i still can't speak english bcs i just dont know how to express/reply but i can understand it very well when ppl speaking it
Hani's forehead is bigger than your future its okayyyyyy, as long as u want to study more, u can speak eng in the future. languange is not an easy thing, u can start slowly but surely :)
But there are a bunch of ‘anak manja’ who oppose English teaching and think that English is challenging their rights... LMFAO!
Jackal Shine lol their parents is the one who make their child being 'manja', its a important education why do u have to manja-ing your child for his/her own good in the future ??? sometimes the parents have to be more strict (?) i guess in this kind of things, in my oppinion cuz its involve education
Welcome to Malaysia truly Asia...you look like Malaysian Chinese as well 😁😁
Probably their ancestor was Malaysian Chinese.. just like many Australian Chinese, their parents were mainly from Malaysia to escape inequality.
when i see Canadians eat Durians...i press like and i give my respect!
For US $2000 you can live like a king here.
totally agree!
Hahahahaha that’s right ...pretending to be like a king once in your life .
That's right.. 2000 × 4 = 8000.. you can get about RM8000.. aah.. how i wish i could get at least half of it for hari raya😢 actually, i don't know if it even reach RM100 since we can only go out for one day..
Thanks for your love about my country Malaysia. Have a nice trip
love it here!
Guys the hair cut is way tooooooooo expensive!!!🤣 u can get better and cheaper just few more minutes away from the KL city. RM40 for a haircut (man) you should be able enjoying a luxury saloon, but for a street-side saloon, a big No No. lol
haha lesson learned! We had no reference point on what to pay. Really really appreciate the insights so we don't make the same mistake!
normally only cost RM10 for man haircut at barbershop you went on this video
@@DoseofDJ Unless you're really, REALLY in for the high end stuff & do shit tons of treatments & whatnot, spending like 100 bucks in a salon is unthinkable for us Malaysians. hair cuts that cost more than 50 bucks each is considered insane for most of us.
your video is so informative compared to others I watched. thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Welcome to Malaysia guys. I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your trip here in Malaysia 🇲🇾🙏
Thank you! Really enjoying it here!
next time try to go malacca state, penang state, langkawi island, cameron highland & terengganu state... and dont forget try ramly burger...

Malaysia is very similar to Wakanda from Marvel...
1) Cool country
2) Nice food and stuff
3) And yet Some of the earths population doesnt know malaysia.
(Cause Malaysia is very close to Indonesia and Singapore, the 2 famous countries)
Fact: people often mistake that Malaysia is Indonesia because part of the Malaysian lands are inside the Borneo Island
Im Malay. Sorry for the bad English
Ya definitely! That is why we stayed here for so long!
Welcome to Malaysia, fellow travellers!!! Enjoy your stay!!!

miormamir hahahaha yaaa dude we have hari raya, chinese new year, christmas, deepavali andd we also celebrate our sultan birthday with having a break hahahahahaha
@@natasyhanabila9810 and malaysian most favourite holiday is sudden holiday... For example when dato lee chong wei(badminton player) win any big tournament then the next day gonna be holiday... Haha... So nice
jahahahahha yaaa i think i used to watch some korean tv show they talk about malaysia have holiday when our football team win and they feel weird about it because we re not one of the "huge football team" among the world hahahaha but then the malaysian in the show told that we really cherish football like a lot 😂😂😂😂
I am Indonesian...I love also Malaysia because we consider Malaysia is our "twin nation". We speak almost similar language and culture based on Malay (Melayu) language and culture. . Off course Malaysia is more developing due to some factors e.g. populations, governance etc. So please come to Indonesia and find some similarities and differencies.
