You can set your meter to 49% so that only when you do the cancel correctly, will you actually get the super. Just a way of reliably practice this kara cancel.
I was gonna say that this is super dirty and I hope this doesn't take off but then I realized the average Baiken in towers only has the brainpower to mash f.S at roundstart and occasionally goes for a 2S so I'm not longer worried
it's wont take off cause it's something that is pretty redundant and just a "hey ma look i did a thing" move. a good player looking to bait your parry is going to get the super for free. And the baiken will lose 50 meter and 50% of their hp in an attempt to look cool. And they saying they can react in 1 frame to comment to the super or not is just bullshit. no human can react that fast. either you make the read and do it or dont. Either way there is no point in doing it cause baiken's counter super does a lot of damage and can win you the round. so unless your playing super poorly, theres really no point in trying to save meter. because it counters everything but block or another counter super. Where as the parry can be thrown.
the parry to kara frames being throw vulnerable probably won't come up as you'll mainly use this through blockstring gaps and on wakeup, when you have throw invuln for those frames. This is really cool and means true raw super is entirely useless when you could do this.
reminds me of how Johnny in XRD did 63214K66S to do Mist Finer stance, then dash into treasure hunt to get the launch version of treasure hunt. to continue to his combos. sick tech overall, i cant wait to try this out.
Hey, do you know if this still works as of the Season 4 patch? The patch notes say “the start of the attack can no longer be canceled into Overdrives” which sounds like it might no longer work. I’d test it myself but it’s been a while since I played Baiken.
@@RavenGuiltyGear HPB is currently what it should have always been, not that you should be using it ON WAKEUP. Megafist is maybe worse since it's very reactable.

how does it save meter though since both kara super and PRC requires hiiragi to be activated anyway, it builds 50 meter on use and both costs 50% meter, maybe less for PRC as there is fPRC which gives some meter back. and lastly both normally does parry on hiiragi's active frame.
