? Originally the choir of the Vatican would sing it in the Sistine chapel, a 14 yr old Mozart transcribed this song. Its not an adaptation like you think but many say This song is slightly different than Mozart heard originally.

@@kylegonzalez5842 Yes, I know this history to Miserere Mei, and find it fascinating, it is a fascinating piece, but what I’m asking about is this specific adaptation for men’s choir. I’ve sung the version for mixed choir

Song isn’t Muslim. Came from the Roman Catholic Church hence why it’s in Latin. It was originally written by allegri and rewritten by Mozart when he heard it at a young age. At one point this song was considered so sacred that it was only sung in the Vatican City during Holy Week.

@@marcusslobodnic facts... The pope at the time originally was angry this-holy song was taken as it was a secret. Mozart 14 was inspired by this song but we now know he truly was a genius prodigy with more musical talent than anyone. As an adult the same pope would have the musician play all over Italy
