I will graduate from architecture school this summer, but I'm really unmotivated, I'm hating it, and I cannot wait for it to be over, I can't see myself as an architect at all but I still really love this field and respect it, but not as much as when I first started it. It was a dream come true. I feel really lost and I don't know what to do, I can't see my self in it or in any other field. This feeling is so depressing

I think there are many Possibilities, its
      generalistic
Course of study, so there are many possibilieties to specialize.:)

Yes, I get you. The field and thought processes are beautiful. But the people are toxic and make you feel depressed.

my friend, I graduated from architecture less than 1 year ago and still feel the same. I'm really lost in life. should I go back to architecture and pursue master to be an architect so I can work, even though I hate it, I despise it, and it gave me many mental problems? many people already told me no, but I have to work to gain a chance to get permanent residency in Australia as I'm an international student. But, there's nothing that I know of that I can pursue, especially being already 23. lots of people say 23 is still young, yet there's lots of talented, better, etc. younger people that's ready for big corp to slave/hire.
If I go back to my country, it's even worse. if you work in a company, you gonna earn less than half of minimum wage in australia. that's right, programming in my country is worse than working as a part time mcdonald's burger flipper in australia.
I'm so stressed up and I just try to enjoy my life at the moment, as I think I earned it after 4 years of hell.

Spent 10+ years in architecture, had gut feeling when I was in architecture school that it wasn’t for me but I soldiered on to finish up my career. Graduated 2008 (great year btw) had no job, finally got an architecture job, had all my AXP hours, been working for the same firm 5 years, that same feeling I had from college emerged again. I always had a gut feeling that architecture wasn’t for me. I feel stuck.

This is great, i have finished my masters late last year in Architecture and have been looking into alternative as my passion dwindled. Thanks it's refreshing to see the alternatives.

So the UI goes to game quality design, the data analyze goes to data mapping visualization, the GIS goes to traffic design, and the architecture is still useful, never could get out of its exploration!

This was a great list of alternatives as i will be done with my degree by may and i have no interest in being an architect, but at the same time i can't decide what i want to do next, i am interested in industrial design as well as 3d modelling for games and animation but i am not sure what the best way to transition into these career paths are.

Hey - so I thought I would share my experience with you! I did my Bachelor in Architecture and worked as an Architect for half a year. I really quickly decided that I didn't want to spend the rest of my life as a "traditional" Architect and I was - just as you are - very interested in 3D modelling / animation. I personally decided to take a 10 month 3D animation course close to my hometown, there are a lot of great courses out there. Especially online - there are so many offers and you can learn everything about animation from home. After the course I am now working as a Motion Designer!
I would recommend looking for the fields that you enjoy the most and really making sure if the programs that you would need to know really suit you. I thought at first that I really wanted to create everything in Unreal Engine, especially architectural scenes for games and movies but turns out I really don't like this programm haha
Instead I figured I really enjoy After Effects and Cinema 4D / Blender and that lead me to Motion Design.
So basically what I am trying to say is: Go for it and just try different things. Different programs, figure out if those really are your thing and maybe you discover new fields while doing so. And even if you decide that that one program was not for you you still have some cool new skills to offer wich other Architects probably don't have! :)
And if anything happens and you decide that this whole thing was not for you - you still have Architecture as a backup! :)

@@jessicahettich9429 Hey thanks a lot for the helpful reply!
I am currently learning blender in my free time and find it quite fun, although i still have a lot to learn. Hopefully once i am done with my course i get more time to really explore my options.

And yes are you well paid?
I mean can I too get well paid if I took architecture and then switched to other ?

As far as I know, UX has been a very popular choice, I know at least five landscape/architectural designers transferred to UX. Some of them took UX bootcamp, some of them went to take an HCI master's degree. Two of the main benefits from the UX industry are good payment (or more reasonable pay based on your workload) and a better work-life balance.

In my opinion if you are desatisfied which many architects would, you shouldnt consider any art and drsign carreer. They are all same.
