      Iveoma, yes I'm thinking about making my REPATRIATION back to the PROMISED LAND OF MY ANCESTORS probably in the next 3-5 years or so. My Creator, willing ! ! The slavemill here has nothing further of REAL VALUE to contribute to my being. FYI, I grew up in Naija up to my earlier years, and I sabi the language, culture, etc. One Love, Rastafari Bless ! !

      How do I reach out to you to maintain contact in the future about finding an adequate place to reside in Lagos or elsewhere in Naija ? ? Are you able to assist with the process or make trustworthy connections that can help with the process ? ? Referrals, etc ? ? Also, do they have several of this type of Private Estates with similar amenities all over Lagos ? ?

    It's funny because in Sierra Leone we hv the same lingo for someone who just came, they say, "jc" for "jus cam" in krio. Loving ur vlogs, I'm hoping to make that move to africa w a 7yr old by ending of 2021, wish me luck.

    • @FERESE
      @FERESE 4 роки тому

      Krios are mixed with Yoruba. They're liberated Saro emigrants of Yoruba extraction or are Yorubas that held on to their tradition from US back to Freetown and many lived in Nigeria and built some monuments in Lagos Island, not forgetting those from Brazilian and Portuguese quartres in Lagos. They traveled down from Freetown as Masons, Captain on ships,educator, politicians, ckerks in Nigeria, from Lagos to Calabar to Ogun state to Kaduna. Some prominent ones like Samuel Ajayi Crowther, Henry Carr and Hubert Macaulay studied in Fourah Bay college in the 19th century. There are many krio descendants here that haven't returned to Sierra Leone. But they know themselves, for example the actor Desmond Elliot has a link to that root. I personally have lots of friends and family that are partly krios. Do you know why some krios still answer Yoruba names like Femi, you need to go and read more on slavery.

    • @FatimaahConteh
      @FatimaahConteh 4 роки тому

      @@FERESE yes I'm very familiar with the history of the Krio ppl, a very rich history indeed. thanks so much for sharing that.

      @@IveomaMedia I see. Cool, cool ! ! That's not a bad deal or price at all for an apartment in a nice area like that in Lagos Island. Especially, for a 3 bedroom 3 baths as well in a private estate with almost 24/7 electricity and security too. Definitely, much cheaper than N.Y.C, Chicago, L.A, Miami, and even lots of smaller cities all around the United States as well, actually.
      Question for you, are you starting a business or entrepreneurship in Naija or you're working for a company over there ? ? And, how's Ibeju Lekki different than Lekki Phase 1 & 2 ? ? By the way, I LIKE THE IDEA OF SPENDING $1 on the local bus transport to save some DOUGH fo sho 👍🏾👍🏾😀

    • @IveomaMedia
      @IveomaMedia  4 роки тому +3

      Yeah its hard to compare to the US because people get paid in Naira here not in USD. I think this place is overpriced for the area.
      I am an entrepreneur.
      Ibeju-Lekki is atleast 1-3 hours away from Lekki Phase 1. Ibeju-Lekki is remote, lots of estates bc there is a ton of land available here, being built up daily, not too many local restaurants/bars, not much to do honestly. lol
      Lekki Phase 1 is a popular area, lots of expensive/fun things to do, lots of restaurants, clubs, spas, etc the apartments/houses can be VERY expensive, water is bad but it is in a convenient area.
      Lekki Phase 2 is being built right now, lots of homes, no estates, cheaper than Lekki Phase 1, kinda rough.

    Could you actually talk about the details in you moving? Help from your parents? Years of research and planning? Job prospects? Not everyone can wakeup and decide to move cross continent in the next month or 2 so please be detailed and realistic. Great content and down to earth personality

      I have videos on my channel talking about planning my move though lol I can create a playlist for it so they are easy to find. And I will create 1 video that just talks about it.
      My parents got my aunt to look for this apartment found it in 3 weeks (I paid), created this entire channel to move so thought about moving for years, I work for myself, don’t have a job. Well I was able to move in 2 months bc I don’t have kids nor am I taking care of anyone lol
      I do plan to create a guide on how people can plan out their move in a more realistic time frame though. So that’s coming. Thanks for watching and the compliments!! :)

    Let me help you with pronunciation of "Ibeju", you still have a very Americana pronunciation and you have to realise Yoruba language is tonal. Hence wrong pronunciation can mean something different. Just like "Oko", depending on how you pronounce it can mean farm or d**k. lol
    I = E as in "E"asy.
    Be = Beh as in "Be"d
    Ju = Ju as in "Ju"ke
    So it is pronounced EBehJu

      @@IveomaMedia No worries, girl.
      Just thought I should give you a bit of friendly advice. Otherwise, one day you might ask a guy in Yoruba if you can see his farm and he would look at you with the highest level excitement and say "Yeah, baby, bend over" while taking off his trousers. lol
