- Sorry for the long hiatus! "I didn't document" is the theme of this video. After the last video, I found myself focusing harder on just getting the work done, and not allocating time to capture images of my build progress. Oh well. The van is pretty much done being converted, so in this video I give a tour of the things I have completed since. I hope you like it!
Here's a 360° full panoramic photo of the inside of my van:

5:00 Wow, finding a place for this fresh water tank saves a lot of precious room inside the van. Thanks! I am definitely putting this on my to do list when planning my build. I have a 2012 Ford Transit Connect Premium that I'm just starting to convert to a camper.
Don't feel bad for not uploading more progress videos. The final product has turned out magnificent.
Awesome build
I just found it!!! So cool. You are so much more professional. Awesome job.
Just beautiful!
Looks great, Jimmy! Thanks for all the videos, it has been fun watching! I would love to see your bed a bit more
Thank you! From reading other comments, I think I'll have to make another van tour at some point, to cover the stuff that I missed in this video.
Looking forward to a full visual tour. Thanks!
One of the best builds I have seen!!! When you get the opportunity get out there and reconnect with nature.
Thanks! I am eagerly awaiting this lock-down/quarantine to end, so I can go out on the road again!
Nice set up! Love how you put a water tank under the van rather than in it✨
The van is awesome, cheers man !
Awesome job hello from the philippines
Thank you!
Looks amazing!!
That is so awesome van! What a big, challenging work it has been. Excellent work!
Best Built....But....Eager to see detail Tour of YR Van....Never seen Long Window and Counter Top , MW Inside +++ many.....So hope U will upload full Tour of Van with Bed and Kitchen.
Turned out great!
Great job.
I have binge watch all your videos in one go..... 😀 most definitely one of the best Ford Transit Connect builds I have ever seen. The details to carpentry n electrical is highly commendable. It gives us novices a lot of tips n ideas. I compliment you on a job well done. Looking forward to your travels. Greetings from Singapore 🇸🇬. Stay safe...
Happy trails.... 😄
Oh wow, thanks! That's quite a time commitment! I appreciate the kind words. I still feel like a novice though. I think I need to build a few more vans to really hone my skills.
Hahaha Bro! I found your channel while I was "building out" my first TC a few years ago.... (I never did finish it before I sold it.) And look who pops up in my feed. Fast forward almost 2 years! Looks great! I think the last time I saw it online you had done the ceiling. Hope your trip went well/ is going well. Later!
A great build for such a small van! Howeve, I wish we could have seen more shots of the complete design looking from front to back & back to front!
That's a fair point. I should've shot more b-roll of the van interiors. I posted this video just before I left on a 3 week road trip, so I was in a hurry.
However, I have since added a few more things inside the van, so perhaps I should do another tour at some point.
@@JimmySlaughter Yes, please do that. You have such great ideas. I'd really like to see the van today, with the additions. Hope all is well with your travels.
Probably the first connect I've seen that has the water under the van. How did you mount it to the body?
I constructed a tray from sheet metal, and secured it to the frame with threaded 1/4" rods. The tray is painted to help prevent rust, and on the side that is close to the exhaust pipe, I designed an insulation barrier that is sandwiched between two layers of sheet metal, to protect the tank from melting.
Your van conversion looks Great! I am working on converting one myself. I envy your back large opening windows...I have solid panels there but plan on eventually adding 2 rv windows that open for more air flow and inside visibility...not worrying about stealth so much. Happy Travels!
The back windows don't open, although the quarter panel windows do pop out a few inches. This you're in better shape, since you can get after market windows that open, or have screens. I severely limited myself by getting the XLT model with windows all around, since I can't replace them with one that do open. At least, not easily.
@@JimmySlaughter I kind of feel the same way. I plan on eventually adding after market windows in the rear panels...would love a pair of euro style with the screen and shades but at $350 each, I can get windows off ebay for half that price, but not as cool looking, but increased airflow and some extra visibility is nice. I am not planning on living in mine, just daily drive and travel adventures.
That's awesome!! I'm also trying to convert a 2012 FTC. Where did you get that water tank? Do you have dimensions? How did you Mount it?
Really like your build. Storage cabinets are amazing. I wish you had templates :D
I ordered the water tank from a company called iCon. Model WT2474. Dimensions are 12"W x 8"H x 16"L. As for mounting, we built a metal tray to hold the tank up. Made attach points on the underside of the frame of the van. The tray has a heat shield on one side, to protect the tank from the exhaust pipe, while the bottom protects from rocks and other road hazards that might rupture the tank.
Sorry I don't have templates. I made everything up as I went along!
@@JimmySlaughter Appreciate the reply! I'll check out that tank. You just might get some messages from me with build questions :D.
Menos imágenes personales,y más del vehículo,es de lo que se trata el vídeo, gracias
Lo siento. La próxima vez, intentaré mostrar menos mi cara fea.
Very nice build. I wonder where did you find this water tank? Or how do I search for something similar!
Thank you! My tank is made by ICON, and I bought it from Panther RV. There are several tank vendors online, and many of them you can search by capacity or dimensions. So, if you already know what size tank you need, it makes searching for one a little bit easier.
@@JimmySlaughter Thanks
the electrical part of these builds is what scares me. I could probably do the carpentry work but it when it comes to that stuff, I'm a Martian😮
Well, I think with a background in engineering myself and having an helpful electrical engineer for parent gave me some advantage. However, the electrical work isn't too complicated. One of the things that helped me was to draw out a diagram of all of the 12v components in the van. This includes the battery, fuses, switches, devices, even the wiring. The other thing is to watch a ton of UA-cam videos to see how others are doing it.
Just wondering here you found the water tank ?
The tank is made by ICON. I bought it from Panther RV.
i did not see a refrigerator.. why?
I showed the fridge installation in my previous videos. I forgot to show it here, since this video was supposed to be an update to the build series. I have done a few more things in the van since, so maybe someday I will do a proper "van tour" video.
@@JimmySlaughter thanks. i will watch previous and later videos
