The wait makes it worth it tbh. The first time playing Elden Ring felt like participating in an entire cultural event. There were SO many people playing at the same time everywhere. If they released something like that 6 months, or even a year after, it wouldn’t be nearly as effective as this long. It will be another cultural event, and even more playing will be coming.

From Software is one of the few developers who make full releases amazing and dlc that wasn't cut from the first iteration of the game (though they may include such cut content anyway), and lots of their dlc is nearly full games on their own.
tbh almost every single Fromsoftware dlc includes concept and content from the deleted scenes… but the size of the DLCs are so substantial that it justifies them
I agree with all except you saying their dlcs are like full games bc they definitely aren’t josh from soft dlcs have a max of 4-5 bosses and like a map or 2 but the dlc ms are always taken time with so they are always hella good sometimes superior to the base game
Thats a very dumb thing to say, no offence just fact. The largest DLC FROM have made is the ringed city which only has 2 bosses and a gimmick pvp fight… what you said right there was real dumb, you obviously haven’t played a FROM game besides Elden Ring

It would be really cool if they made the DLC story depend on what ending you chose on the previous run. For example what happens to Ranni after her ending or my personal favorite the Three Fingers ending where Melina vows to hunt you. Either way I'm sure its gonna be a fantastic DLC!
It will be interesting to see how the DLC will play into the story or even if it will be canon in the first place.
All of their Dlc's connected to the story, so I don't think it will be non-canon, that just wouldn't make sense. But I am very exited for the story aspect of it, honestly more than the bosses.

From DLCs almost are almost universally the peak content for each game(Artorias/Crowns/Ringed City/Old Hunters), so this is an entirely valid opinion.
All I’m hoping for is some news on the dlc in February, if they’re not ready to release it that’s fine. I’d be happy just to see a trailer or something

The base game took about 3 years to make (to my knowledge) and since the dlc is rumored to be 2/3 the size, it shouldn't release any later than February if they started work on it since release.
Untrue, they started development before Sekiro came out. Also I highly doubt it'll be 2/3 of the size

Im an oldhead player and bought this game on xbox mostly due to recommend from nephews.
If Id known this was a souls game I probably wouldnt have bought it. I struggled a lot and resorted to farming the witchdoctor guys by the beast church.
I settled on a incant + heavy armor + sword and shield build and did two playthroughs.
Recently started a new character running a no spells build and I am having a blast this time around. exploring every square foot and still finding new stuff + areas.
What armor set is in 4:22?

Honestly my thoughts, I've been pretty upset about the wait for the DLC release. I've moved on to other games and Honestly, the most disappointing part is that FROMSOFT has set My Souls-type type game expectations so high that other game developers just can't meet my needs to the full extent of a Fromsoft game. At least not yet I'm hoping that maybe a company will give them some better competition next year. All I can say is this better be good after this many years of a wait.

Elden Ring was the first game I played after almost 15 years, my expectations went from non-existent to sky high. I don’t even want to play another game from other developers, they all suck in my mind. I was completely mind blown when I first started playing it, most other games could barely provide 40 hours of content when I was still a teenager and here comes Elden Ring, where I needed almost 30 hours to even figure out what the fuck I was supposed to be doing.

I desagreed with the cyberpunk expansión , CD PROJECT probably spent half of the development time fixing their broken game that's why it took so long to launch liberty city, if it wasn't for that it would probably have launched in a year and a half after the base game release.
At this point we should have at the very least a teaser trailer from fromsoft there is no need to defend them no matter how much a love there games.
Cyberpunk 2077 dlc is probably 10x bigger and more exciting.

@@lennytate4246 It’s very easy for casuals, that’s exactly why it is the most popular souls game… that’s pretty obvious, most people aren’t great at gaming and until this game came out the souls games weren’t as casual to play. It’s extremely easy no matter you do, play with no summons and don’t over level and the game is still as easy to cut through as hot butter
I'd say there's been casual audience at least from the time Bloodborne came out, it was one of the bigger releases for Playstation.
Y’all are crazy. Elden Ring was delayed as much as the average Zelda. I think late 24 is unrealistic. 2025 or even early 26 is more like it. The lore alone is probably the bulk of the time. They have to create a million little assets correlate with each bit of lore too. The prep is massive and the polishing likely takes years. Unless the bulk of this was already underway during the original development I doubt we’ll see it in 24.
