  • The Ben Aaron Show - Season 2 - Week 52
This week I listened to nothing but The Doors and tried to write a similar rock song. I hope you learn a few tips and if you write original songs, join the Song-A-Week Subreddit over at / songaweek

Ray would also sing as he was playing both bass and piano, the man was truly a genius

I hope you have all the studio albums. The Soft Parade and Morrison Hotel specifically are slept on by many and are criminally underrated albums.

Hey Ben, I've gotta say you have a very good collection about different facts about the band and their work. And your song really pushes in that direction. Very good video in opinion. Thumb up and my best wishes, Chris

Wow, this so great! The Doors are a band that I often think I should know better. I know just a few great song by them, but I never listened much to their whole catalog. From what I know, I can say that your original song is very much fitting their style and I'm love with it! Great work on all the instruments and great vocals as well, my friend!

I remember “Light My Fire” came out around 68? I was 14 then, that’s how damn old I am, lol. We loved Jim and his music, but my friends and I mostly had intense crushes on the Lizard King. We were all silly, giggly girls back then. Thanks for all the info on The Doors. “Riders on the Storm” is one of the best songs ever written. Your Doors influenced song was outstanding! You captured the spirit of the Lizard King himself. :) Janet

Riders in the Storm is a funny one. It was modeled after the old Cowboy song Ghost Rider's on the Range. You reminded me that I want to cover Ghost Riders on the Range. Although the lyrics are copyrighted the song goes way back. Best regards from Texas

Hey Ben, if you want a very accurate Morrison voice to sing it, you may have to wait until Kyle Lumsden or myself are totally ready...in the meantime, if you want me to chip in with any lyrical changes so Morrison is relating it, let me know.

did the girl behind was really necessary? she takes up so much space that we focus on her instead of listening and the camera is clearly focused on her and i wonder why cause she is totally useless in the video.... but really cool song!
