The only disapointing part of this was it wasn't narrated by Dan sitting in a comfy lounging chair with his feet up sipping on a beer! That would have been an instant classic.

I remember when Ollie couldn't hit 1,000 watts. Now I tune in expecting him to crush everything he goes for. Totally not surprised he took the victory. Biggest surprises for me was Hank down at the bottom.

A great video. A great test for you all in real life would be the Isle of Man TT course. 37.4 miles with two climbs in it. Perhaps you could get Mark Cavendish to join you (giving you a 15-minute head start)! If you did it around the actual TT race, it would be awesome!

This really shows the power of training, those presenters who have been training more in recent times came out on top. It goes to show that a large part of success in cycling comes down to how much work you put in and it’s not just about genetics.
Massive congrats to Ollie for taking the win, super inspirational to watch his training journey to get to where he is now.

Nice video. Good to see the GTN crew’s version next to it. They did great! Especially if you know they did 7 marathons in 7 days recently and Mark is quite busy with some other things as of late. They simply didn’t have the mileage in training and still rode that good.

Fwiw i don't think that's a good thing... You either need better pros or a more relatable everyman! Channel has been worse for a dearth of relateable content for quite a while now (in my humble opinion)

From where I’m sitting, Ollie (and anyone who was on this race) IS a pro cyclist. Look at how he earns a living.
If the former pros still trained half of what Ollie does he would be in trouble.
Not surprised that Ollie won but I was surprised that Hank finished near the bottom. Maybe we need Ollie take Hanks spot on GCN Training ;)

Kudos to Ollie with his commitment and improvement; he really has come on a long way and it’s been great to watch. But, as someone who is the same age as Si, it’s great to see that I have loads of room for improvement and am nowhere near being over the hill just yet. Keep it up guys.

@gcn , the rematch surely another video? Make teams, and then set them on training plans from Zwift - maybe each group specialises in their strengths (sprinters > sprint training, climbers > climb training etc), and then the rematch of this!

Hank has tanked! I think all those challenges have taken their toll on him! But Ollie's ascendancy is next level. Alex was in good form following his recent adventures in Australia and Si seems to be keeping hold of every precious watt of ability he can from his pro days, and has barely lost any speed over the last decade. So to have beaten them both was quite an achievement. If Ollie has worked on his team TT skills I reckon that 3 road bikes vs 1 TT bike would be a very different outcome now.

This was awesome to see, Ollie, Si and Alex are still ridiculously strong riders. Sadly won't be able to participate this season myself due to lack of funds, but hoping for next year can continue in March.

I believe Ollie uses science to improve (science, virtually every waking moment on the bike, and almond croissants). He should do a training plan on Zwift, or write a book for GCN on how to become a super-strong climber.

I'd prefer to see all of the GCN presenters riding head-to-head on a road race outdoors, same course, in the elements, like the pros most of them are, used to.

@@gcn you could accomplish the same results in a loop course using time segments like a Gran Fondo. Sprint, hill climb, time trial in one course.

hi guys....don't mean to be negative but does this zwift software account for head, cross & tail winds ? as well as road surface's ? just wondered because these are important factors to be taken into consideration, looks good fun though, especially if you don't have to be in the same room to race each other & can compete with someone anywhere in the world, i would definitely like to try this out as it does look awesome,....c'mon guys hammer those peddles
