What a great day, buddy!
After covid camping trip with Matthew posa?! I like these videos
So awesome y’all got together! I love both of y’all’s channels. Keep up the good work!!
Post your vid Joe! It’s mind boggling this channel doesn’t have more subs and your vid will obviously help that!!!
What do you think you'd be doing while floating, if you do float!
You both doing good 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 from india
My two favorite utubers from northern Ontario back country trips... together... can't wait!!
😁😁
Jon, you are not a nothing channel. I love watching you and Erin go on your adventures. Keep up the great work. Definitely a pleasant surprise to see you fishing with Joe. Cheers!
Agree. His channel is amazing. He shows you some really remote spots if your willing to put in the work.
Thanks so much Shane! And Dan! Appreciate you guys 🙏
Started watching your channel through Joe’s, Jon... the Old Woman lake book. Don’t sell yourself short mate, your insert shots are amazing and with the music and everything, it’s a great channel. I’m not much of a fishing guy, just love watching the Country you guys play in. Thanks Buddy!
That really made me feel bad for him when he said that because it is a great channel.
It’s about time you two hooked up out there in our beautiful backyard! Looking forward to a full canoe trip with you guys.
Thanks OWC, me too 🙂🙂
This is a great episode and what an excellent collaboration! Please do more!
Thanks Gary!! Appreciate that feedback
Awesome seeing you guys out together! Thanks for taking us along John. Appreciate it brother 🇨🇦
Much appreciated Pinetree!
I love see you guys doing videos together! My 2 favorite creators!
Don’t sell yourself short - your channel is far from nothing. I love it, it’s an escape during busy work shifts at the hospital, it’s not easy for me to get out very often, so thank you.
Always a pleasure to hear that Derek. Thanks so much!
Totally agree
Woooo bud! No f'n way! You and Joe together, my life is complete 😁
LOL we had a blast...perfect day out there :)
Haha, awesome!
Great job as always. I grew up taking backcountry trips in your beautiful country and continue to do so. Doesn't look good for my yearly trek to the chapleau area due to the border closure. Depression is setting in. Your videos are keeping me breathing. The evening and morning landscapes with the loons bring a calm no one who has never been can't understand. Thanks for all you do.
So sorry to hear that Paul...really. I know how you feel. Keep hoping that the border opens soon and you can flood your life with Canadian waters again later this summer. 🤞🤞 Hang in there.
The first couple of seconds of this video....absolutely gorgeous ! I always appreciate your respect for nature and the creatures we take for our consumption. Great video Jon ...as always. Thanks for bringing us along on your and Joe’s adventure. That fish look great BTW. Cheers. Don
Thanks a bunch Don, always appreciated! :)
Jon’s love for fish always shows when he’s got one in the net and starts talking himself out of keeping it. I notice cause I do the same “next fish we get we’re definitely keeping”....”well, maybe not this one, look how beautiful it is” it’s a good omen to let the first one go right?
Hahaha fantastic observation. It's never easy to pull the trigger
I absolutely love how you try and leave no fish waste!
If I were really good I'd the carcass into a broth too lol. Thanks Joshua!
Great video! So happy the backcountry is open again! - Alex
Thanks Alex!! Same here...that was rough. Happy trippin!
The Dutch audience is pleased, 2 amazing Canadians in one video. Thanks gentlemen.
Hahah appreciate it B&C!!
What a fun video, guys! Can't wait for more of these. Just awesome!
Thanks Brian!! Just had an interesting trip with Joe this past weekend
Awesome! Joe had been my favorite UA-camr for a long long time, and BAO you recently just overtook him (though I still love Joe and he is a real close #2), so I cannot wait to watch you both together!
Hahah wow that's high praise man! He just needs to post a canoe tripping vid and he'll reclaim #1 😝 Thanks George!!
BAO and Joe, you just know it’s going to be a good one.
Hahah that's funny, I joked about calling the episode that
It's great to see you two together. I'm a fan of both your channels; different styles and complimentary. Hope to see more collaborations with you guys.
Different styles and complimentary...I like that :) Thanks Dave!!
I would love to see you and Joe pathfinding old canoe routes, those are some of my favorite videos of yours.
Thanks Michael! Maybe someday 🙂
Can’t wait to watch this video!!! Joe is a very humble guy and one of my favourite UA-camrs
Or he just likes dogs 😜 Plus YT is how he supports his family so the extra views don't hurt :)
Barry Beatty get outta here pal. Good vibes only
I can't wait! I love watching both of you.
Thanks Pat!!
You guys need to do a camping / fishing trip together.
In the plans!
Have fished those waters many times in years past. So glad to see you guys can get out. Wanting so much to go to Canada for our annual wilderness canoe trips but it's not looking like it's going to happen this year as we come from the states and the borders are closed. When you're out and about, take a moment to kiss the ground for all the rest of us that wish we could be camping and canoeing in Northern Ontario this year. Blessings on you for being so careful with catch and release and for your sacred ways when killing and consuming a fish.
Thanks so much Mark! I really feel for you...let's hope you can get a late paddling season in this year 🤞🤞
absoulty awsome! I watch both your channels religiously, I was very excited to see a video of you both out together . Camping is back finally ! I will be watching my phone for more videos to come . your both great guys and I have learned lots from yah ! tight lines john and joe !
Much appreciated Kyle!! Cannot wait to get back to it!
Holy smokes. JON and Joe together. Awesome video. You the man. 👍👍🎣🎣🛶 Hope the new canoe is living up 2 your expectations. Stay safe
Thanks David! New canoe is great, though we're eager to try it tandem in whitewater, and we might have another addition to the family soon.
Yes, 2 of my favorite you tubers together. And yes, camping ban is also over in New Brunswick. Have a good season!
Thanks M&A! Same to you!
That was awesome!! Thanks so much...to hear the peepers and see the loons wow, just reminds me of home. I was so thrilled as well to hear that camping is being opened up...Yay!!! I've been in southwestern Ontario for the past year and a half and I am now planning to make it back up north where I've lived my whole life. When I see you guys on these gorgeous lakes, I am definitely living vicariously through you. Just seeing the rocks and trees brings me to tears. I'm planning on getting myself a Sea Eagle inflatable fishing kayak so I can get out on the water...I won't be portaging it or anything like that...I'm a bit too old for that...Lol!! Thanks for the videos from both of you, I have learned a lot. Stay safe!!
Thank you Anita!!! Pull the trigger on that kayak...such a good investment with all the lakes and rivers here when you make your way back up :)
Great to see ya both together. Yay, we can get out again!
It's so excellent to see you two awesome UA-camrs together, you are honestly my favorites. Definitely need more of you two (and your significant others) together!! Really appreciate the tips.
Thanks so much Cin Z!!!
Ah man, great to see you guys together! Long overdue, you guys rule. Hope there's more in the future!
Thanks Chase and Aimee!! Should be right around the corner. Hoping I can catch your premiere on Friday but can't wait to see it either way!
I was hoping this would happen one day ! Pumped.
😁😁
Bonsoir... très belle vidéo sur des passions communes avec votre ami Joe..dans un très bel endroit.. bonne pêche !!
Thanks Gisele! We had a great time, hopefully the first of many times we meet up :)
Awesome trip Jon and Joe 👍🇺🇸 The Vermonter
Just saw this one. It was great. I wish you wouldn't say you have a nothing channel. It is an awesome channel and it will just keep growing. You are such a fine individual . My grandsons and I really enjoy your videos.
Great video. Glad you two finally got to meet. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for a long time also. Love watching anything Lake Superior as I lived close to it for 20yrs. Keep catching those fish for me. 👁🦉👁
Thanks Sunbunny!! Will do! 😁
I'm overstimulated seeing the two of you together... thanks for the great video!
😂😂 Thanks Jeremy!
I’ve been waiting for this collab for years
First of many hopefully 🙂
This worked well. Hope you get a big bump from this. Looking forward to the summer outings.
Thanks Bern! Typically it doesn't seem to make a big difference for people. But he's a great guy to be out with and it reduces the amount of monologuing 😅
Anyone else watch all the adverts to help him out a bit more? By far the best UA-camr imo
You rock James...so thoughtful. Thanks brother!!
I have a full-time job. UA-cam is my second full-time job. You gotta chill....no need for that hostility.
Critical Cheeze if you don’t have anything nice to say then troll Conor McGregor
Great video Jon! Glad to see you back in the water!
Thanks man! Lots to come now... Finally!
Legends!
As always, a top notch entertaining video, thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks J!
Wow. I hope you two do many more trips together. Love both channels! 👍👍
Should be one soon 🙂 Thanks FWW!
Quetico Provincial Park Park is a another good canoe route and camping area 🏕🎣🎣🏕.
Thanks Michael, definitely on our to-do list!
Love both channels ❤️ thank you for this!!
Thanks Tara!!
The sun came out at the exact moment you held up that first fish!! Ha. Great video.
Hahah right on cue. Thanks Terral!
How awesome was this?! Great video!! And one can never have too many awesome friends! Thanks for the mini vacation 💙
Thanks Kelly, I'll keep the distractions coming!
@@LostLakes Please! I absolutely love them!!
And.....I have plenty of time to fill without my Africa trip...guess I have a little more time to learn my filming skills....
Hugs to you & Erin! Cheers!
Is it wrong of me to be talking to the screen as if I was there with you two trying to tell you it was a Husky Jerk?? Great video man, glad to see good people connecting! Cheers brother!
Hahaha that's awesome, thanks Teunis!
Surely it was sleet instead of hail you were experiencing. Hail occurs only in a thunderstorm, which you didn’t seem to be having. Sleet is simply frozen rain.
Ahh good to know the difference!
Just discovered your channel, because of w/Joe. Subscribed when I heard you thank the fish. Beautiful footage, thank you.
Appreciate that Gabi!!
What an awesome day!! Looks like you guys had a great time. And hey, congrats on the end of the camping ban!! I know I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned but I can only imagine how anxious you are. Tight lines Jon! Take care. -JD
Thanks JD!! Full of anxious energy this week...almost nervous with excitement to get back to it 😁
This was fun to watch. Thanks!
Dude, thats my lake! I've fished LSPP for over 40 years and never been disappointed. My youngest caught her 1st laker on that lake.
Hahah pretty amazing the trout can keep up with a decent amount of pressure
Somehow missed this treasure, UA-cam algorithm for the win! I hope you have more collabs. :)
Wow I don’t believe it. How great is this. I can’t wait👍 👁🦉👁
😁😁
Cool video. Fished and camped on that lake a few times. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ben! Nice lake, my first time there
Nice video !!! It was great to see you two together, two of my favorites. Looked like an interesting day out. Cant wait for a camping video, we have just been able to get out here also, but all the camping places are packed, cause you cant do anything else !!! Bring on the vid, I'll pour a nice glass of bourbon and sit back and enjoy !!!
Thanks Vance!! Erin and I are heading out first thing tomorrow morning for 3 days...hoping to get the video out before next weekend because I'll be starting another 8-9 day trip next Sat :)
SO DANG JEALOUS !!! so the 8-9 dayer is a loner ? Cant wait to ride along with yall.
Awesome boys..... Just awesome...
Oh man my two most watched channels together in one video!! So happy. Great vid John! (Don’t tell Joe but I’ve seen more of ur vids haha) must be great to get out again eh.
Hahaha thanks Emmanuel!!
Nice to see good fish handling and barbless hooks in use, now Joe on the other hand with his fingers in the gills is not so good, but he's young and learning. Just don't do stupid things with the axe, use it wisely. Nice to hear they are letting up on the over night.
Thanks DPS :) I won't deny that I grab by the gill plate too when necessary. But I try to avoid it more and more. P.S. Joe is older than me 😜
@@LostLakes The grey is showing on the old man, I thought I would pass a complement. I'm over 50 and I think Joe has more grey than I do.
Yup typical day on Mij! Rain hail sun and wind...
Nice to see you two get together for some fishing
Much needed day
Great to see you two dudes out on the water together, finally :) glad to have you back, Jon!
Looked like Lake Mijin...
Thanks Jay! You got it 😉
I never thought I would think a canoe looks sexy...but man...that canoe is fine. 👌🏻
Hahaha I knowww. I tried portaging it too...it's a dream
Love seeing the Bears 🐻
Awesome video as always but did miss seeing Erin. Don’t you know Joe is the worst fisherman. Lol (just kidding Joe) Looked gorgeous and just seeing all those animals would be definitely worth the trip.Glad you’s finally got together as I’ve been watching Joe for quite a few years now. Hope to see some great overnighters now that it’s opened up. So glad you’s live where you do so we get to enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to some more🥰🛶🏕 Always learn something from you, thanks
😝😝 Erin and I have a sweet trip planned this weekend so she'll be in the next one...we cant wait! 😜 Thanks as always Trisha!!
This will be sweet! Great combo of backcountry enthusiasts. Nice brookies btw!
What rod holder is that Jon? I was always a behind the leg guy but you made some great points!
Thanks Clayton! Love that rod holder. It's two pieces. Here are the links if you're in the US or Canada.

Thanks a bunch Martin! In the scope of social media, this channel is puny....but I'm just happy sharing my passion :)
couple certified canadian boys
Hahah 👍👍
That would be so much fun hanging out with Joe, great vid as always mate!
Had a blast 🙂 Appreciate it!!
Two of my favorite you tubers.
🙏🙏🙏
love the vid...fishing with joe....love the channel....keep up the good work...
Much appreciated Gordon!
Good show boys!
It's one thing to spot wildlife and another to capture it on film. Nice work!
Thanks Matt! Got lucky on this day
Cool trip! Glad you guys are back out again! Happy Camping!
Me too....whew. same to you!!
@@LostLakes I was able to do a trip a couple weeks ago to a private farm with some friends. It was awesome!
Nice Jon! Loved the trip. Thanks for sharing that. It's good that someone can teach Joe how to fish.
😝😝
Gut the trout. Snap the gills with a pull. Grab head and peel back. Cut tail off if you prefer. Flour and lemon pepper on the outside, bacon on the inside. Cook. Use fork to pull meat off bones. Perfection.
Wow Jon!!!! This is awesome!! I'm so jealous of those bookies!! I'm gonna go up to lake superior !!!
Thanks man!! Can't go wrong there 🙂
Right on 👍
Great video Jon. Looking forward to seeing what you get up too.
Thanks Martin! Cannot wait to get back to it
Sweet looking Canoe Joe's got there
Very sweet! Cuts the water so nicely
super cool.
That's fun! Cool to see you guys in the same vid! Hope this makes your subs explode…just don't forget us little people who have been with you since the beginning! :)
Hahaha I'm not going anywhere 😋 Canoe tripping just ain't that popular. You need another dimension like a dog, bushcraft, etc. to have mass appeal. Thanks Tim!!
@@LostLakes I won't tell Erin that you think she doesn't have mass appeal! (wink)
Auuuugh. Just missed it. Thank you Jon for a special treat. : )
Hahah thanks Adam, my pleasure :)
Check out the scatter rapala for caneo/kayak trolling, the blade shape makes it mimic a bait fish evading predator fish. I'll definitely be taking a look at the husky jerk 👍
Thanks Michael! I bought a scatter rap years ago and scarcely used it. Don't know why...never really gave it a chance. But that's a cool idea for trolling. I guess you can't go too fast with it
You should bring him to Timmins and do the Grassy river with him. It be cool to run into you guys out there 👍
So many trips, so little vacation time!
good times boys... hey what kind of rod holder is that on Joes canoe... I'm trying to find one that works with the Swift Gunnels
Canoehound Adventures Scotty Rod Holder - you can use a gunnel mount or thwart mount both of which Swift sells and installs.
You can borrow mine if you’d like to try it.
Hey Dennis, same as mine (he was using Erin's as he didn't have his with him). Adjustable clamp so it fits on almost anything. It's linked in my fishing gear here if needed:
www.amazon.ca/shop/backcountryanglingontario
Thanks Jon and Derek... I had one of the scoty Gunnel mouts but I could not get it to work on my Swift Canoe gunnels.. they are a pretty odd shape
Hey Jonathan, love your video content! I had to comment because my two buddies and I fished that lake on Tuesday and did really well with the lakers. I couldn’t tell what lake it was at first til the very last minute. Great spot for spring trout! Cheers.
Thanks a lot Jason!! Not a crazy day, but I'll definitely take it :) My first time on the lake but it's a nice one
😁 Looking forward to this one. Going to be a great watch.👍
Looks like a fun day, you lads seem like you’re Canadian, as am I. Didn’t watch every part, but got the idea. The lure is a husky jerk and that’s a big one for specs, but obviously it works. I use the smaller ones, that size for walleye. I’d guess that is Alquonquin, by the wild specs/lakers, yes wild lakers taste really good, enjoy (in past tense anyhow),,,
Yessir, Canadians. It was in Lake Superior PP. The husky jerk was definitely on the large size for specks...I was trolling with it and didn't bother changing it to make a few casts there at those narrows. But yeah it worked out anyway :)
My two favorite men 👍 awesome video
Thanks Eileen!!
Please don't sell yourself short John. I've loved watching your videos since you first posted them I like the way that you film and also the shots of nature and your surroundings. I also really appreciate your ethics with nature
Thanks so much for all your support Henry!
It tickles my heart to see a budding romance like this. Here's to many more adventures 🥂
😁
Nothing more bromantic than sharing a shore lunch together 😂
great collab! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mark!!
Excellent trip!!
I really enjoyed this! You guys are a blast together. Looks like a fun day :)
Thanks Vee!! Good times for sure
Great video joes a great guy
Packing up the Taco and I’ll be Algoma bound tomorrow morning. Great vid. 👍
Right on! Hope it's a blast!
Nice influencing. Not sure who the influencer was :) Nevertheless, subscribed and bell rung.
Any friend of Joe, Shawn, Ted, Doug and a few others, is a friend of mine, on YT.
Lol thanks Comfortable 🙂 Appreciate it!
