The dam was opened after 31 years. If it was raining so heavily why wasn’t it opened before? Why was it opened in the last minute when the dam was filled. This could’ve been avoided had the dam been opened from the beginning.

As you say monsoon rain, Tripura in India would've flooded if they hadn't opened that dam, so they had no choice. But even if they didn’t, the dam would've burst eventually, causing even more damage. So, India’s not at fault, right? Wrong.
Rivers are meant to flow, but India blocked it, starving Bangladesh of water for years. If the river had flowed naturally, it would’ve maintained its depth and width. Even with a sudden surge, the river could’ve handled it, sending the water to the sea without drowning everything. But because of the dam, Bangladesh’s rivers became shallow, clogged canals. Now, when India suddenly releases water, these rivers can’t handle it and flood everything around them.
So if someone defends India, saying they had no choice but to release the dam, hit them with this: "Then why did they build the dam in the first place?"
dams are built everywhere perhaps u haven't seen round the world. even china had built multiple dams over river flowing transboundary... Indian side were in communication with bd side up until 21st of august. Tripura is also suffering a lot not only your country. you create a dam for electricity and your dam's capacity should be such that even if the dam is filled up completely it doesn't create flooding. And when there is a lot of flooding the excess water would go over the dam. But when you open dam gates it releases all the water you stored in the dam for days at once. This indicates indian govt. don't care what happens to the people here, they just want to reduce water in their area. Good relations aren't made like this.
Why India didn't give any warning about opening Dam? Change your foreign policy as soon as possible otherwise you will regret later. Remember if Bangladesh become unsteady, it's neighbors will not able to remain steady state.

Before releasing waters all on a sudden at midnight, please inform your neighbor beforehand. It's their right to know about it because it's a question of security. India is interrupting the natural harmony of rivers for long years which is a clear threat for the environmental damage and climate change of both countries. India is facing question after long fifteen years for such activities, so you will go mad and it's pretty normal. Stop supporting one single person rather try to keep relationship with the country, it will be easier for you to maintain the foreign policy toward the neighbor country efficiently. Suggesting you to research on the impact of interruption in the natural flow of rivers, it's imapct on climate change in both the countries and rasie question to your Government as well, what people of BD is doing now.
