Gotta love those days where it seems like your doing all the right things throwing the right baits and just can’t land them it’ll drive you nuts for sure
Personally I don’t enjoy the idea of bed fishing and even more so if it’s illegal in the area (not familiar with PA laws but seems others here are). Looking forward to more videos
Fishing for bedding bass is dumb and hurts future fishing. In the time it takes you to land that fish, fish fry may be eaten. There is a chance too the fish will not return to the bed. BOO!
For PA subscribers, what hes doing is illegal ,intentionally targetting bedding bass before the season opens back up again at the end of June, on a Pennsylvania lake. The fish commission will fine you, especially as i learned up at Presque isle.
For anyone who is curious, this is straight from the 2024 PFBC regulation book for Pennsylvania "During the no harvest season, anglers must immediately return any bass to the water and are prohibited from casting into spawning beds."
Go arrest him officer yankee (no offense Nathan). What state in the country has the biggest bass? Texas? Florida? Head on down there and see if they do any bed fishing lol. It’s catch and release man. He’s alright. Also your code book doesn’t say anything about casting near a bed. If you’ve ever fished during the spawn and think you haven’t casted into a bed, you are wrong.
For all you junior Game Detectives here who were all born after 1995. He is fishing in Ohio. if you really have any useful knowledge, you would realize there are no lakes in SWPA that the terrain is pancke flat like this lake. "Bed" fishing is a relative term as well. Is he casting into the bed? The rule is pretty much unenforceable anyway and there is always someone saying the CO's are cracking down. I know a lot of the CO's and they all are really good folks looking for poachers and such, not trying to enforce to the greatest extent legislation that came from a Harrisburg bureauocrat. Way too many lakes are already shut down for fishing ENTIRELY from February till May because of the stocking of hatchery trout, limiting opportunities for hearty individuals who want to be out on the water fishing and living a full life. Not virtually, not trying to pontificate and virtue signal from Momma"s basement. This man is trying to teach you something, lay off, pay attention, and forget about dreaming of glamming up your life because you took down the Tuber that had the courage to start something good, that built something up instead of tearing down.

It's up to Nathan on whether he wants to reveal the location, but the map on his fishfinder shows you where he is (and certainly looks like one in PA especially with the docks and houses, though not SWPA). You and the person above are probably both be right -- as with any enforcement, some officers are going to write you up for anything, others are going to be more lenient or care about other things.
