Most useful smallie video I’ve watched! Only caught a couple in the morning popping a ned, watched this video, then absolutely hammered them. Caught a fish at least every three casts! I was using a 3” black and grey minnow
Thanks Nathan for all those helpful tips!!! In one of your videos I heard you mention the Allegheny River. I fish that and the other two major rivers and trying to become better at fishing the rivers. So your best advice would be fish upstream as the boat is downstream. Thanks again!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
I like your way of thinking for putting more emphasis on jig weight and staying "in the zone". Reminds me of when I caught more fish and owned less gear!, lol...I grew up fishing the Mon and Yough rivers with Mr Twister grubs, two colors of jointed Rapala, and a Rebel crayfish...oh how we (I) tend to complicate things!
Wow, thanks so much for this video man! I just recently got into Ned Rig fishing. I wasn’t quite sure how to fish it given the current in the river I fish. Everything was very quality advice!
Great video. Thank you for the information. I have some trouble casting when using an Alberto Knot and have switched to an FG Knot for joining braid to the fluorocarbon leader. With the Alberto, the tag end of the stiffer leader points towards the rod tip. Maybe I don't trim the leader end short enough but the knot catches in the guides during the cast. I'm hesitant to trim the end too short. Any advice on this? I tie the FG in advance of the fishing trip but will tie the Alberto on the water. Usually using 10# braid and 8-10# leader for freshwater fishing.
Great video! Thanks! I'm a bank fisherman, is there any other tips regarding fishing a ned rig from the bank that you could share with us bank fisherman?
So if you are in a river and come across a nice rock pile, you anchor or do whatever you can to stay put and slowely work that area? Thanks, great info!
Unfortunately, I live in Ohio. And all I can get is smallies a tip that works good for me is working ned rigs after faster moving water like right after a bend
What fishing lure or technique would you like to see me do a how to on next?
finesse swimbaits
@@TylerHouckFishing This one should come out in a couple weeks if the weather cooperates!
BfS fishing ! would the bfs pole and bait caster reel be good for this ned rig as well?

Really loving your videos. Practical information with on the water demonstrations are gold! Thank you!!
Thank you!
We catch a lot of fish on the Ned rig down here in Texas. But damn, the drum sure love them. They can get to be a pain on some of our lakes.
Your advise is spot on, although I quit using Z man jig heads, I've had many hooks break on big fish.
I agree!
Yeahbaby the Ned is killing it. Thank yu for sharing your time!!!
Straight and to the point. Great content man. Just subbed.
Thank you!
Great video! Glad I watched it because I fish a river and have been doing hop, hop, pause with only moderate success.
Good luck!
You are very well spoken and knowledgeable for that you have my subscription. Look forward to more videos
Thank you!
Thank you, awesome and informative.

Great video. Thanks for explaining the ned rig and how to fish it.
Thanks!
One of my favorite tough bite baits. Always break it out when nothing else Is working. Nice tips man
Absolutely! Thanks!
We fishing the same. I actually just bought the z man Ned rig ticklers today. Going to try them in the morning.
Good luck!
Awesome ned tips 👍
That little outflow is 🔥🔥🔥
The juice!
A 4inch senior works really good and a 3inch on 1/16 works realllllly good.
I’ve switched to gika rigs instead of neds it feels like I get more with it and I definitely out fish my buddy’s on Ned’s with it
Very great video my mans!! So well put together! Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Also...you try those new zman football heads? Should be better for rocks like you were fishing.
I’ll check them out!
TRD Coppertruse for life! Especially for smallmouth. If you haven't tried that color, give it a toss.
That is one I usually don’t use so I will!
Here in canada is the best color
Another good video. If your ever up around Pool 5, 6, 7 or 8, I’d be great to fish with you.

Sounds good!

I trim my tags very short once I cinch it down tight! I don’t leave a tag at all!

Thank you for the great tips 👍👍👍👍

Right!
Good info my friend I fish the Tn river and that was a great video
Thanks!
Would like to see how you would find fish with electronics on a deeper lake like raystown
That’s planned for when I get the new boat and have better electronics!
What light green braided line do you use?
Sufix 832
Perfect video man love the experience
Thanks!
Awesome video...... great tips!!
How do you decide the weight of your jig head vs current?
Should it not drift at all?
A little?
Or float along like a bobber?
You just want it bouncing along the rocks without getting hung up on every rock!
Is that the Allegheny if so what boat ramp and if you don’t want to tell me that where can I catch some small mouth on the river
All of the Allegheny is good just have to find them in the pools!
Cool video learn something thanks Nathan
Thank you!
Thanks this vid was helpful!
Thank you!
Does the ned rig work when the water visibility is less than 1 ft?
I’ve never tried it!
Please do a video on river musky or pike !!
I’ve done a couple but they didn’t do very well!
im just starting using it but really like it
Awesome!
@@nathanquincefishing7122 worked well today

What a scary position for the lure fhook on that rod.

Straight braid is no problem.
I can't fish with that setup here. The rocky bottom here will cause snags.
👍🏻👏👏🙋♂️
The Deal is another good color
