@@Areniapixie me too. It took me so long to get through it. That in the Waco documentary. It enraged me how his followers tried to play like their victims. Let's not forget everybody who was on that compound knew that David koresh was a child pedophile and raping children. So no they weren't victims. What they were was enabler who allowed a monster access to children. Not only enabled but actively protected it. And still somehow to this day cry victim. When the only victims of the Waco debacle where those poor children. Whose parents, family, community and law-enforcement all failed to keep them safe. In fact the guy that was the drummer the big guy there is a video of him nodding along to David koresh talking about how it was God's will for him to impregnate a ten-year-old. So he can GTFO on here with this nonsense disgusting victim mentality. Honestly and this may come across as a little harsh but David koresh and his enabler followers got what they deserved. As someone who works with children and adults who were victim of sexual child abuse anybody who does that deserve to be buried alive under the jail. People like David koresh are not about anti-gun control legislation or stopping government overreach they are about having free unfettered access to children. So they can have sex with them. People in that compound not only allowed it to happen but they enabled it encouraged it and actively protected it. That is the only story about the Branch Davidians that matter.
This needs Abducted in Plain Sight added to it.. that was an entire RIDE, and had my jaw dropped the entire time. The parents were infuriating and I loudly shouted “WTF” at the tv more than once.
I'm AuDHD myself but I did wonder if those parents both had severe autism because they seemed so... lost. Like, maybe they just are clueless socially...? I was really confused and irate about them having children tbh, they seemed like there was a problem with them that wasn't diagnosed properly and aided in any way
Because it sucked. Dude gets trolled by his son’s murderer “helping him” find the killer and once he finds out who the killer is he’s just like “oh well”, and goes after the pharmaceutical industry instead.
Great list. Now do one for nature docuseries. There are some great ones out there, both recent like Planet Earth, Blue Planet etc and old ones like Crocodile Hunter, Cosmos.
“Don’t Pick Up The Phone” needs to be added to this list. It may not be a murder story, but it does prove that you don’t need to be in the same state (much less the same room) to sexually assault a person. It also goes to show how gullible people can be. It’s one of those documentaries that make you think, WHAT?!?!
I know it was crazy. And the fact that that guy and that woman just went along with it and then tried to play like they had no option but to sexually assault that child just blew my mind I'm glad they're in jail is exactly where they belong.
Wild Wild Country and OJ: Made in America are landmarks that advance the documentary form. Enraging, but more revealing about the nature of America than their subject matters may suggest. I cannot abide Tiger King. It’s so awful. Not just as a story but as a film. It’s exploitative and cruel. By the time I saw babies ripped from their mothers, I was crying tears of rage. May all of those people rot.
The Murdoch Murders were really good too. As well as Athlete A, Filthy Rich (Epstein and Maxwell), The Social Dilemma, The Great Hack, Downfall:The Case of Boeing and Audrie & Daisy (the first documentary I watched on Netflix and still haunts me today because I remember reading about it in the newspaper when it first came to light).
What's missing from the details about the OJ doc is that ESPN pulled the gloves off and the doc is extremely authentic and raw. Photos from the trial were shown for the first time, and you'll never be able to unsee those. The OJ doc and The Jinx are the two I normally recommended to people
I can’t believe they forgot to mention I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, McMillions is also good but Michelle McNamara”s story is truly interesting and heartbreaking at the same time
I’m surprised “Don’t Pick Up The Phone” on Netflix didn’t make it here. The premise of that documentary is sad but WILD. I watched it again recently and still can’t believe it happened. Also, The Night Stalker is a really good one. I’ve watched it 3 times and may watch it a fourth tonight. Just how evil Richard Ramirez was…it’s so disturbing. Just watching that docuseries makes me lock the door twice at night.
Was so shocked at Dont Pick Up the Phone - how could the average person be so fooled and why would the staff member adhere to the orders - especially when they got to the sexual bits!
Inside the mind of Aaron Hernandez was good as well, surprised it didnt make it on here or Mommy Dead and Dearest and Paradise Lost, great list tho WatchMojo more content like this please!
I was going to one of the Wild, wild , wild country places to Meditate. The authorities kept it quiet at the time because they didn't want to scare the public on how easy it is to cause mass murder. All the open salad bars, giant buffet's, the little cracks between glass in meat deli's, it goes on and one with how vulnerable all of us are.
The Ted Bundy one was particularly eye opening, and Evil Genius was just... you cant even believe all of that happened, you really cant lol, its like if it came out as movie instead nobody would believe that ever could of happened in real life lol.. just crazy
I am going to watch it again because some or most of the series I was MESMERIZED by the art of the beautiful animation. The story was also as on par with the outstanding character development! Such a great series!!
I haven’t seen making a murderer in awhile but I’m pretty sure the police department that was in Avery’s law suit was the same police department that handled his arrest and interrogation as well as searching his property so idk how that wasn’t seen as a conflict of interest or grounds for a mistrial but all the “evidence” they found was highly questionable even if those police didn’t have a vested interest in seeing him go back to prison. Also I can’t believe they used the tape of the interrogation of his nephew as evidence because the police literally just told the kid what to say and the only time he could remember any details was when they told him. The cops literally said “no he shot her in the head remember” and then he goes “oh yea he shot her in the head” plus there’s also the fact that he was a minor and most likely mentally disabled and not only did they interrogate him without a parent or guardian which isn’t legal but he even asked for his mom and they told him he couldn’t see her till he answered their questions which is also illegal and yet all of this was allowed and used as evidence. Unless the show left out a ton of information this was the most crooked and corrupt cases I’ve ever heard of.
How they're still in prison goes to show how corrupt all forms of government and law enforcement can be in this nation. Same with the New Orleans 8 are whatever they're called. An obvious corrupt police department murdering prostitutes than the FBI gets involved and backs there findings. Shit blows your mind
False confessions are a fascinating topic UBC did a study and were able to illicit false confessions from 65% university students in the study. The study was structured as 3 1 hour meetings over a 3 week period. The students were not being held, their life was completely normal in every way except for the meetings. The researchers said it was hard to convince those who confessed that they really hadn’t done what they confessed to
Devil in disguise the john gacy story on peacock is ten times a better documentary then the ted bundy netflix documentary . Should have been on the list . Cant believe paradise lost isnt on this list either.
4:31 - Yup, that was a great documentary. Old wounds that were cut that deep never heal. It also highlights the fact that many Ukrainian nationalists were complicit during WW2 and people need to remember the names (especially the leaders).
Oh good lord. We get it they were complicit with the Nazis. But that doesn't mean that Russia has the right to invade them. Because we all know the only reason you said that is because you are your some pro-russian Nuttall. But let's be honest nobody is as bad as Nazi Germany unless were talking about Soviet Russia. Plus the people who are alive and living today in Ukraine are not those people. Also if you can't separate the citizenry from the government and the military you are a child.
Weird you mentioned Cheer but not the controversies surrounding it. One of the male cheerleaders is in prison for 12 years for coercing underaged boys for sexually explicit pictures and soliciting sex from minors in cheerleading competitions. Another ongoing case the coach Monica Aldama is accused of asking one of her female atheletes to not report their sexual assault and she'd help her advance her cheerleading career.
That’s what I’m scrolling the comments to find… Abducted in Plain Sight and Don’t F*ck with Cats are my top 2 true crime docus.. I immediately suggested them to everyone I knew, and have been trying to find another docu THAT crazy ever since. 🥲
Could do a list: Ppl who committed crimes for Greed From arson (insurance fraud), doctors(defrauding everyone at the expense of their patients) to murder to collect life insurance
My top: Don't mess, O.J, I'll be gone in the dark, Night stalker, Dear Zachary😢, Girl in the picture, Jonestown massacre. I'm picking new docus from your comments. 😬👍
Could you not when I first watched “Dont F With Cats”, I couldn’t finish it half way, the moment I saw the part where the culprit tied the cat to a broom stick and was gonna drown it, I just turned it off, I couldn’t keep watching it, It makes me think and I think others think “What made these people go as far as to kill something as innocent as a animal?”, it’s always gotta do with views and attention or satisfaction, it boils my blood hearing there’s people out there doing these things, as a cat person myself, who owns 2 cats, I’ll never let them go, I don’t want to harm them, I don’t want no one to harm them.
Not sure if Watch Mojo is allowed to mention sexual assault, but it doesn't really touch on it when covering The Vow and Wild, Wild County. With that being said neither Epstein or Surviving R. Kelly make this list which are great watches of this genre
The Devil Next Door was great, but fuck why u guys gotta spoil it? Whether or not hes really Ivan The Terrible is the big question hanging over the series until we find out more than halfway through that he isnt, but is in fact a different death camp guard. That was a surprise twist and a half. You cant make the title of the video "shows you need to binge" and then spoil the shit out of it.
I want to watch the pharmacist, but I know it'll be a hard watch for me. I lost my mom to opioid addiction. I even told her doctor she was abusing them and overdosing frequently. Her doctor didn't care and just kept giving her more. That doctor and many of her colleagues should be in prison. She killed my mother.
I would like to add Unseen. It’s a doc about the victims of the Cleveland strangler that had 11 dead bodies in his house and yard. 2 of the bodies was just out in the opening decomposing on the floor in a room
*SPOILERS:* What happened to Michael Peterson is tragic and I fully believe he's innocent. But I don't quite agree that "The Staircase" can be voted the best docuseries. It may be tactful in its set up, but it doesn't draw nearly enough attention to another theory that though completely wild, actually seems more plausible based on the evidence. What makes me mad to this day is that they put in a little short after 13 episodes about "The Owl Theory." All the evidence seems to align with this theory and you're left sitting there like - why wasn't this taken more seriously? After 14 hours of watching, why are we just learning about this theory in a short when (though hard to believe at first) it actually seems to have merit? Did this man spend countless years behind bars because of an owl? Why is this seemingly the only theory with actual science behind it that isn't grasping at straws? Long story short, she had scratches on her head that resembled claw marks, there was an open window at the top of the stairs, and there were feathers in her hair belonging to a particular type of aggressive owl that lived in their area. Finding feathers and scratches in someone's hair/on their head is very suspish and I doubt they would "just happen to be there." So WHY is this not mentioned before or looked into more? Yes, it's bizarre, but again why aren't we paying attention to it?????? I do feel I know the answer as to why "The Staircase" is number one - it is an important doc that shows how the legal system failed Peterson based on of political vendettas and biphobia. But just when you finally finish it, you find out the evidence is most closely aligned to an owl being the perpetrator. And you're like ??????? That's all you're going to share about that? Maybe that's the point: to show how the court had it out for Peterson, so any actual theories based on scientific evidence were ignored and then he was wrongfully convicted. But damn am I still mad that this was thrown in as a little tidbit at the end. Rant done :)
I love how now a days you start hearing the defense of the Davidians. Like let’s give up our kids to be SAed and call that gods will. If that’s the case than there ought to be no god
I 100% agree with everything you're saying here. I cannot get over the sainthood David koresh and his enablers. Every single one of his followers including the ones included in the dossier knew what he was doing the children. They not only allowed the man access to children actively protected and enabled him to rape children. That's the only story that matters. There are some Deeds that people can do that rot you from the inside out and raping children is on the top of that list. I don't care if you agree with me on 100% of every other thing I agree I think but you did that with children. You can be buried alive under the prison for all I care. The fact that Trump and his little followers are trying to turn this into Auntie gun control legislation blow my goddamn mind. I work with children who have been sexually abused and it is life-destroying and soul crushing. And it takes a lifetime of hard work to get over I cannot imagine how hard it must be for those children to get over it knowing that their parents enabled it to happen and still to this day defend that monster. The only victims of Waco are the children. Cuts far as I'm concerned David koresh in his adult followers who enabled him to rape children got what they deserve. And I hope it f****** hurt when they burn to death. I'm sorry but it enrages me as someone who does this for a living.
My best friend went to the rival school TVCC who like the video says are rivals with Navarro. Thankfully my friends team defeated them one year at competition
7. How is there no mystery in "Don't fuck with cats"?? Loved that docuseries and was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I haven't seen what comes next but I hope number 1 is "Wild Wild Country", that story blew me away and I still think about it regularly years later. EDIT: Ok "OJ: Made in America" is indeed shockingly good too, but "Tiger King" and "The Staircase" should both come after OJ and WWC, the sheer scope of the latter ones makes them superior in my book.
A good Dan Schneider? I'm a recovering addict, I was dependent on opiates (any pill form of an opiate) I'm surprised I didn't overdose. I'm 4 years sober. ❤
I remember Ma Sheela being interviewed on an Aussie current affairs program. When asked a particular question, she answered by saying 'tough titties'. From that point on thats how she was remembered here!!🤣👍🇦🇺

The internet slooths involved in that thing caused an innocent man to kill himself because they wanted to be right. They're bad people

Netflix is literally the undisputed king of docuseries. Everything from true crimes to cats.
It’s the only format that doesn’t need writers, actors, etc
Cats is probably the best docuseries.
WatchMojo is the undisputed king of Top 10/20 video series.

That’s what I’m scrolling the comments to find… Abducted in Plain Sight and Don’t F*ck with Cats are my top 2 true crime docus.. I immediately suggested them to everyone I knew, and have been trying to find another docu THAT crazy ever since. 🥲
It’s a film. This one is only listing series.
Like the Girl in the photo isn't here because it's a documentary
Wild Wild Country transcended me
Could do a list:
Ppl who committed crimes for Greed
From arson (insurance fraud), doctors(defrauding everyone at the expense of their patients) to murder to collect life insurance
My top: Don't mess, O.J, I'll be gone in the dark, Night stalker, Dear Zachary😢, Girl in the picture, Jonestown massacre.
I'm picking new docus from your comments. 😬👍
Henry Lee Lucas was lying when he said he killed hundreds , he had that disease where you confess to anything to get attention.
He might have killed less than 10 people. He was convicted of 2 of them, his last 2 victims, Becky Powell and an older lady he was acquainted with.
I literally seen more than half of these already. I’m sure most have also.
The staircase is a must to watch , amazing doc .
NETFLIX documentary 101: slow moving drone shot over a road.
I really enjoyed Cheer, was shocked about Jerry though
Disney+ has some shoking docs too
I want to watch the pharmacist, but I know it'll be a hard watch for me. I lost my mom to opioid addiction.
I even told her doctor she was abusing them and overdosing frequently. Her doctor didn't care and just kept giving her more. That doctor and many of her colleagues should be in prison. She killed my mother.
The pharmacist is my favorite one I’ve watched it like three times in a row
I would like to add Unseen. It’s a doc about the victims of the Cleveland strangler that had 11 dead bodies in his house and yard. 2 of the bodies was just out in the opening decomposing on the floor in a room
Law enforcement is bad at their job….WHAT?!
Shocking I know
*SPOILERS:* What happened to Michael Peterson is tragic and I fully believe he's innocent. But I don't quite agree that "The Staircase" can be voted the best docuseries. It may be tactful in its set up, but it doesn't draw nearly enough attention to another theory that though completely wild, actually seems more plausible based on the evidence. What makes me mad to this day is that they put in a little short after 13 episodes about "The Owl Theory."
All the evidence seems to align with this theory and you're left sitting there like - why wasn't this taken more seriously?
The Jinx will always hold a special place in my heart.
Stolen Youth on Hulu is really good! It is raw and some parts are hard to watch but good nonetheless.
I feel like "captive audience" should have been on the list.
Captive audience was amazing. I think the title was too generic and people didn't really notice it
Paradise Lost is an all time great documentary that missed this list.
My best friend went to the rival school TVCC who like the video says are rivals with Navarro. Thankfully my friends team defeated them one year at competition
Should've put in the Ruby Ridge 'cult' in there too.
Why do you call them a cult? It was a family living in a cabin in the woods . Some of which were killed by an overzealous govt.
Don't stop thinking about how messed up America is.
I saw Slash from Brentwood the other day….I ran!
Henry Lee Lucas was an over the top sorta guy. What a trip!
The Year we disappeared is a must watch for fans of true crime docs
The DRIVING GLOVES fit without LATEX GLOVES. Good job prosecutors 😮
Who told you that?
@@AKing69 I used to have driving gloves
@@daveerk6573 You didn't have the gloves used during trial so again...how do you know the gloves fit OJ Simpson's hands? Not yours.
A good Dan Schneider? I'm a recovering addict, I was dependent on opiates (any pill form of an opiate) I'm surprised I didn't overdose. I'm 4 years sober. ❤
I’m a really simple crime doc person. I really like the Investigation Discovery show Disappeared.
I remember Ma Sheela being interviewed on an Aussie current affairs program. When asked a particular question, she answered by saying 'tough titties'. From that point on thats how she was remembered here!!🤣👍🇦🇺
Should add to this list: The Mission about the kid who tried to spread The Word to the Senegalese and got killed for it.
The "best" serial killers will never be caught nor their victims be found - pretty scary huh! NEVER be a victim. xxx
