    I totally agree with Eisen here, but he also proves why there is an East Coast bias when it comes to voting awards when he doesn't know good young kids like Canning and Moniak. Was Ohtani that much worse last season that he lost the MVP and now he's untouchable? Ohtani hit 34 HR's, was a Cy Young candidate with a 2.33 ERA and 1.01 WHIP as a starter and won 15 games with the mediocre Angels last season and lost.

    • @Fly-The-W

    • @onespeedlite
      @onespeedlite 10 місяців тому +15

      I agree. Ohtani was just as impressive last year. The only difference is that his batting and pitching dominance have switched places. He was Cy Young worthy last year, and he is a hitting machine this year. I can't wait to see him throw a no-hitter and hit a home run in the same game. With his speed, it would also be fun to watch him hit an inside the park home run.

    • @bonwatcher
      @bonwatcher 10 місяців тому +33

      @@trueempire8948 So you're saying what Ohtani has been doing isn't historic and Judge is that much better because he had better teammates and made the playoffs which in turn makes him MVP. Every season Ohtani plays is historic because he's a top starter and hitter at the MLB level. Doing just one would get him in the conversation for MVP, doing both is what makes him untouchable every season.

    King threw a 1-2 fastball belt high. MLB players crush belt high fastballs.

    As a youth coach in a double elimination tournament the first game played the coach says. "Remember this team is a bunch of losers." Boone needs a pep talk. Rich are you available?

    I really love that this show chooses to elevate sports talk...you listen to the experts...you analyze things and have real, thorough discussions about the sports. It's not some loud hack screaming into a microphone vaguely hiding their fandom for a team...but then, there's days like today when you go full Yankees fan or Brockman gets sad about the Red Sox and loses his mind and I think, this is Emmy worthy.

    I never imagined Rich Eisen is one of that group.
    LAA is now far from WC but intensional walks to Shohei will increase towards the end of regular season that is Shohei's homers will be restricted. It may be one of tactics in baseball for win but certainly spoils its fun.
    And I suppose yanks(widely spoken) don't want homerun king title go to Asian incl. Japanese.

    Wasn't it exciting, though? As Ohtani fan, thank you for challenging him instead of avoiding him. The next game, Yankees gave Ohtani 4 four balls, and Yankees lost anyway. Fans were disappointed. A Yankees fans would have been better of if they could see Ohtani hit a home run, and be a part of a history, of 4 homers in 4 consecutive days. Four balls in a wrong game!

    The entitlement of Yankee fans who rage and are apoplectic about being 5 games over .500. I'm a a Cowboy fan so I understand and I also enjoy others having to deal with insane expectations. Jets fans are in for a similar ride.
