- Work continues on my Gottlieb "Top Score" - I go over the problems with the machine, what I've fixed so far and what I need to fix. Watch as I hopefully make progress making the machine 100% playable. This video goes into diagnosing issues with the bonus points, scoring and score motor. I demo how to remove and clean score reels.
Part 2: • Gottlieb "Top Score" (...
Played it in the day. It was so much fun. It's memorable.
I have never seen a bowling theme EM pinball. Looks cool with the back box animation.
Looks like you pretty much have the machine playable. Good job. It does take some thinking. I had to wire a back box from scratch with 2 players. Where some pinball guy that
parts out machines stripped the thing. I'm kind of slow to learn things. It took me (off & on), all winter to learn to read Williams schematics from 1960 era. Then you really don't totally
understand them until you try to wire a complete back box. Then out of necessity, I learned
the Match system for example. I didn't understand on the schematic where the Match pulse
hooked to each 0-9 stepper. With no foreman from Williams manufacturing around to ask I had to figure it out. Took me a long all week of tinkering and back and forth looking at the schematic & process of illumination of ideas. Finally I found out how to use my multimeter
to check the circuit on score reel . The circuit works thru the solder lug and the stepper
frame. When I found that out, I "knew", to hook the incoming match pulse to the frame and the out-going match pulse to the match stepper frame work. But it took me a long time to figure that out . I'm just slow and steady.
Hello
I just purchased this Top Score machine yesterday. I paid $550 for it. It plays well. Thanks for your videos. I hope to learn more from them. Mark in Jacksonville.
I have a Gottlieb Top Score like this one and when the game start button was hit twice in succession, Too quick, it caused a round piece under the table top to loop - it keeps going around and around with lights flashing. I have tried to figure out how to reset it. Do you happen to know? Was not able to post a pic but I have one....
How did you get game over fixed I have the same problem?
I'm going to buy one of these for $250 it turns on but doesn't play
