Really glad this video of you appreciating the Breamster popped up in my feed. Have you done a video that mentions a the excruciatingly awkward Bream Stravinsky filmed encounter? I’m still getting flashbacks about it!
@@Sorhands Hihi, I expect nothing less :D Maybe we'll even go full circle when someone posts a commentary video about it... "Sor Hands DESTROYS guitarist"
the guy that gave me some guitar lessons won a scholarship with Julian Bream, of which he was shouting from the rafters about, but when he first went and played for Bream ,Bream tolled him to go and learn the scales inside out befor he plays for him again, that knocked the wind out of his sails lol
New to your channel here, & glad I found you. Ah, Bream vs Williams? It amazes me that you think Williams "has no ego". Have you heard his proclamations about how "flawed" the guitar is & how "bad" Segovia was for the music he played? (The Segovia comments finished me with Williams, as a fan) on the playing side, Williams makes mistakes, always has. He just hides them well. Also, tonally, I find Williams incredibly dull. The guitar has ONE sound, & he never varies it. This isn't helped, of course, by the Smallman guitars. (Over-priced tissue boxes lol) Bream, in contrast, produces a wealth of tone colours (like Segovia) & keeps you guessing what's next; sugary sul tasto, or piercing ponticello.
@Sorhands there's a couple of videos on UA-cam where he gives his opinions on "concert dress", repertoire, the sound of the guitar, Andrés Segovia etc. He's NOT shy with his opinions.
If Bream and Williams had a master class on the same day, (with TV) which one would you attend? Consider: Technique, interpretation and whether you will get destroyed publicly on national television. We will bring the popcorn.
I've only sat in (not participated) in a couple of masterclasses--thinking of one by Jason Vieaux at the GFA convention this year. And though he made specific technical suggestions, I couldn't really hear many of the changes that made in the playing of the students. You can really hear the adjustments made by this student. Yeah, I prefer Bream's playing. I can almost imagine him turning to Williams in their recordings and saying "do it this way". I hear the critiques of Williams's playing "you really hear the composer's intent", etc. But in terms of color, of nuance, of dynamics, yeah--Bream.
I can't say whether or not this video is of good or poor quality because I couldn't get past the totally ludicrous title "Julian Bream Destroys John Williams's Masterclass" I've heard both Williams and Bream play Bach and in my opinion Julian Bream doesn't come near the warmth and technical brilliance of John Williams.

Yes - Bream was/is the Master of Master Classes. His technique, flawless - and - he brings in the heart of any piece like no other.
He sure is!

I wonder what kind of double bass pedal Darko used... 😂 Love your channel man. I'm glad it popped up a few weeks ago.
Thanks man! I’m glad you like it 😄
Can you share a link to your JW masterclass video?

@@tomgutierrez7573 Yikes! I haven't seen anything as brutal as the famous Segovia masterclass with the young Michael Chapdelaine.
That one is on the docket for sure 😄
Orange , truly is, the new black.
Absolutely. And his black sweats are the new orange.

Thanks for your perspective! Perhaps we need to find more on Williams dark side😈

Am I playing in them?? It would have to be bream then I could finally drop the “Julian bream DESTROYS Sor hands” vid
I think what you refer to as showmanship is really a knowledge of music. Bream is also a much better musician than Williams.
Absolutely agree with you!

We really are lucky to have these things, I kind of want to do a live stream watch party with the fugue masterclass 😂
Jordan > Breem
Technically and musically no guitarist can beat Williams and it will take a long time, a very long time...
You seem to forget the great david russel who is technically and musically brilliant🫡🥷🏽
