the edge membrane comes with double sided adhesive, but it's doesn't work very well,I was playing my drum set and the edge membrane fell off of the pintech plastic cymbal that I had put it on,so instead what I did is I glued it back on with some gorilla clear grip and never had a problem since.
Just thinking to comment this kapatid, last year palang ako nag subscribe my bad, but you sir is one of the reason why i dove in to electronic drum DIY and Mod, lahat ng instruction napaka linaw, bless you and your fam. All love from NJ. Salamat kabayan!
Thank you! This is very useful, i'm still concidering my options on three factors; performance, price and loudness. This is very doable, would be a fun project to start in the summer :)
Bro sorry. It’s not ready. It’ll take a while before I perfect the fit coz of the lockdown I cant test print. I had to sand off a lot and cut some excess here and there. Will do some more test prints. Once the ban lifts, coz I just pay to print from a provider here in SG. I’ll put it up on my payhip store when it’s ready. If you need one soon checkout geardrum it on fb. They have a nicely done extension on their site for sale.
Awesome!! Since goedrum doesn't ship to my country, could i ask you a picture of the circuit inside the plastic box, i have see a resistor and i would like to know wich one to use! a picture of the dowside hihat showing the circuit would be great!Thank a lot for the video !!
Thanks man! Hmm if it’s only for choke then sure its better underneath. But since it’s also edge trigger to get the edge cymbal sound. You wont have contact on the membrane = it’s not as effective. You’d really have to hit hard for it to recognise your hit. The membrane needs to have stick contact to register hits. Not like piezo which is triggered by vibrations. This is for Myrk Membrane. Not sure about other kinds/brands.
i noticed the pc board inside the box has two more inputs one for the edge switch and one for bell swtich. why didn't you connect the bell switch to the pc board instead of a separate jack and cable? very informative video.
Nice video, you did a great job. Could you please add the links to the products in the description? And is it possible to mount the bell-membrane under the cymbal? Thank You
Updated the description. There is a new one that Goedrum just launch that can be mounted under. I’ll try and find it and add in description as well. This particular bell membrane has to be on top. It’s not vibration/proximity trigger. It’s contact trigger. You have to hit it to get a response. Plus side is. No cross talk bet triggers in one cymbal.
Once again, thanks for this. Question. The bell triggers seem very narrow. Would it be possible and worth it to buy two sets and widen them by putting them side by side?
It is. I miss it at times. 😅 I wish it was thicker. I think its possible. Not sure if it’s worth it. Wiring would be a headache, and might have issues with the connectors if the bottom row would cover the connectors of the top row. Might be better to go with the new bell trigger by GoEdrum which mounts underneath. Looks better too. I haven’t tried it tho. Just saving up. I’ll order it and try to make a video. Magnatrac also has their own that mounts on the stand. Bit more expensive.
Guy made video 11 y ago with much more clever diy. You can put switch under cimbal it makes no difference but then it will be no problem with wires. To make all of this You dont need to buy any box , you need 3 piezo , jack plug and switch made from cymbal edge.
Any kind of wire. But I suggest getting the new solderless bell trigger from goedrum. Link in description. Its plug and play to the new 3zone trigger box. Also in description
@@ProjectBeats_ the bell trigger from goedrum looks like it's just another piezo though, how does it work with the TD-17's piezo-switch ride cymbal input? also what did you use to cover the bell switch to protect it from damage?

Great build! but isn't it more practical to place the choke underneath? just a thought....

Thanks. Yeah I believe that pin is for goedrum’s own system/3zone cymbal. It wont work for Roland Module. Not sure about yamaha or other module.

Your rubber trim cant be shipped to the US. Any other reccomendations?
Any u-rubber channel that ships to you. They should be relatively the same anywhere. Just check the dimension listed in description.
Any problems with the cymbals spinning? If so, what do you do about it? Thanks!
Hey. Checkout out my last build. Hope it answers your question. Thanks.
What kind of wires are needed? To connect the bell zone?

@@ProjectBeats_ thanks for the tip my man@ what kind of camera and lenses you using?

Hey there, did you ever get to try the new Goedrum parts that you mention at ua-cam.com/video/UKfHCBNN2Kc/v-deo.html ?
Hey man. Not yet. I may be able to get the parts I need this July. Production of some parts took a while coz of the pandemic situation.
