I finally cut it y'all, and I feel both happy and relieved. Despite the fact that I am a hair channel, I am not stuck on having long hair by ANY means. That being said, It was time for this hair to GO! In this video we will also discuss my health issues, as well as other things that took place throughout 2020... it was a lot y'all, and honestly it's part of why I'm cutting this hair. I hope the video isn't too boring, and as always, I appreciate you watching!

I understand my granddaughter is biracial and has very thin curly hair like yours. It’s seems like it’s easy to maintain but it isn’t. My granddaughter curls tangle easy. We make her sleep in a bonnet (which is usually off her head by daybreak) and we keep it braided because the curls catch lint and dirt easily. We shampoo her hair at least 3x’s a week. OMG! If I didn’t love you before, the reality of letting us see your life in all its glory helps me to absolve you even more now. Child my hot water heater just broke on CHRISTMAS! My husband ordered the part and it came after 4 days! Lugging my huge collard green pots to the bathrooms was TORTURE! But we are a beautiful, creative, adaptable people.
Adaptable is definitely the word! Lol they just got the water heater fixed today and I came home from work and my fence fell down 😂🤦🏽♂️ I guess that’ll be the next fix in the lineup!
I totally get it with the hot water heater. I have a family of 7 and boiling hot water for bath and everything. Made me appreciate hot water on a total different level 🙏🏾. When it was finally replaced after two weeks, my children thank God and realize how they take things for granted.

Hearing you go thru your 2020 I was shaking my head remembering all the “life updates” you gave us. Just wanted to know someone was listening and going through that with you. Get a bucket heater for the tub from tractor supply. I ve been there with out a water heater for months and learned some tricks until I finished my house (its finished). I never take hot water and showers for granted again. I love a good bath but not twice a day.

I also had an issue with hot water at one time. I put a cheap coffee maker in the bathroom. I mixed cold water in plastic bucket in the tub. I used a cup to get wet and rinse. While I was soaping up the second pot would be brewing. I had a whole system going.

Oh yes, I would be surprised if someone told me there wasn’t a single part of last year that depressed them, I’m thankful we made it through and are moving forward

I feel your pain with the hot water heater and I hope that gets fixed soon. My furnace went out the weekend after Christmas. Talk about being extremely grateful when everything was fixed.

When the pandemic started, I was home with 2 kids (4 & 1), while working full time from home and doing it by myself cause my husband was deployed for a year! 2020 was HARD! My hair suffered...I actually just cut a lot of my hair because it was thinning too. Here to offer solidarity and say we ALL need to give ourselves more attention and more GRACE! We are doing a great job!

My hair was a little longer than yours and I got a very similar hair Cut cause my friend wanted to big Shop but wouldnt do it alone. I cant belive I havent done this before, I can whash my hair in 10 minutes and it doesnt need detangling; the second time I whased it I almost cry of happiness 😂😂.

I had a similar experience after the George Floyd tragedy. I'm half white and that side of my family repeatedly disappointed me (and continues to do so) with respect to the value of black lives and other issues that directly and indirectly affect me... 😩
Yes, all of that. Many of them are outright insensitive disrespectful, and outright racist in my case. With several I wish to have no communication whatsoever.
@@GetGlamFam I'm so very sorry that you have that unfortunate family dynamic. I feel that family members should love respect and support one another no matter what.. As for what I personally consider family members it's starts obviously with your immediate family your parents and siblings then your grandparents Aunt's Uncle's and 1st cousins...after that it starts to get a little bit more distant and complicated but are still technically family. I include Aunt's Uncle's and 1st cousins because I'm very close with my brother..we aren't just siblings we're good friends as well. I realize that not everyone is friends with their siblings but they were rasied with you experienced virtually the same things you did and should know you better than most people... family should always stand by one another.. I know that it's always possible practical or preferable especially when you have an inconsiderate ignorant selfish individual or individuals in your family who is better off not being included with or involved with the rest of the family for the overall well being of all concerned.
I was rasied to judge people for who they are as an individual...their actions personality..not the colour of their skin not the spot on the globe that they happened to be born..no one has ever chosen who their biological parents are going to be nor the place on the earth that they are born..those are things that no one has say control over and shouldn't be judged by..are you a good person? Do I like your personality and sense of humor? Do I enjoy spending time with you? That is what I judge people by... I also have 7 cousins who are all Indigenous..technically half as the "colonizers" refers to it, the First Nations People's don't think that way..either you are or you aren't Indigenous plain and simple..no half and half no fractions or anything like that... I'm 2 1/2 years older than the next oldest cousin of mine on either side of my family...lol I was fortunate to not only grow up being exposed to another culture in my family growing up but where we lived and the schools I went to afforded me the ability to be friends with and learn about different heritages and cultures. I also was lucky enough that I didn't grow up with any negative or racist individuals to negatively influence my views and opinions.
@@triciabarr4620 I grew up for my foundational years in a racist town where I was the darkest person I saw there. Many of my family members there are racist and close minded. As I got older, we relocated due to the military, and thankfully I was able to be exposed to other cultures and ethnicities that way, and I was finally able to see people who looked like me. Some of my family learned and grew, and some didn’t, for those that didn’t, they can stay right in Missouri where I left them. Especially since I have kids, I refuse for them to be subject to what I was subjected to in that regard.

My grandma broke her hip in October and it was so heartbreaking knowing she could only have ONE visitor per day: this woman had NEVER lived alone, but was now spending most of her days with strangers 😔 Praise God, she got out of the hospital w/o covid-19 and is walking with a walker 🙌🏾

I cut my waist length natural hair in March and have never looked back. I big chopped into a tapered short cut. So I feel you. It became a part time job to take care of my hair. Love your new cut. Enjoy it!
