There is a early 20th century analogue in Solzhenitsyn's The Gulag Archipelago, involving a 14-year old boy being sent to the Gulag. The irony is, in 2009 Putin celebrated The Gulag Archipelago and made it mandatory reading in Russian schools. The way things are going now, I wouldn't be surprised to see more of this in the west. UK looks like it is getting the worst of it in the Anglo-sphere at the moment.
A couple corrections for your video. 1. I know you said it jokingly, but some viewers might not understand. The GULAG doesn't exist anymore. Also that's not what the camps were called - it was an organization administering the camps. Basically what the SS was to Nazi concentration camps, GULAG was to USSR labor camps. 2. Secondly, there's absolutely no way the authorities felt legitimately threatened by the teens. Fake witnesses or witness tampering, torture and charging people with bullshit laws that exist solely for oppression is a constant thing in the Russian "law". Russia is fascist, so obviously they crank down on intellectuals and scientists. The minecrafters were persecuted for speaking out in favor of Azat, not because the FSB actually saw them as a threat. People in the Russian army/police/FSB constantly do nonsense just so that can report it and show their leadership they're doing something. That's partly why Russia is so notorious when it comes to seemingly pointless strikes on civilian targets.
The interesting thing is they got off because of lack of evidence - it was actually difficult for the FSB to disappear them because of the courts. You wouldn't think Russia had courts or laws that protect citizens.
@@og_3rd_st_saint_gat Sorry, I feel that may have come off snarky or condescending. I just mean no matter what side he were to be thrown into would be an unfortunate circumstance for him that only stands to benefit an undeserving party.

I love when our Boi does a time-lapse for his keeps plug, an u notice his studio background hasn't changed in YEARS. I respect that 👍👍😎
Watching this in the hospital to cheer up thank u wavy
are you okay?

That 14 year old got Royally screwed over! Even if his hatred for the government isn't radicalized in prison, hearing this story will certainly spark more hatred from the public. All Russia had to do was ignore it and it would've been submerged in the ocean of Minecraft videos.
Imagine still believing there's something such as "free spech" in Russia
In Soviet Russia, Minecraft happens in you!
In Soviet Russia you craft the mine.
I appreciate you actually acknowledge the russian government is very conservative, and not communist. A lot of people still seem to think it is, while they specifically censor those kinds of voices instead of amplifying them.
and yet so many of these comments still think it’s communist lol
@@chef-squilliam Right? I believe it’s the lack of dedicated world history education for the younger crowd and intentional propaganda type narratives by certain political outlets for the older crowd. Despite that, it’s frustrating just how many of my fellow Americans still think the USSR is alive and well, when in reality that part of history ended back in ‘91. Nearly 32 years ago.
Its neither. Putin and his propaganda glorify the puppet states in Warsaw pact USSR but not the communism part.
He even said that disoultion of USSR was "a geopolitical tragedy"
In short he wants Right-Wing USSR
Yeah, it is fascist not a communist.
It is sad that we live in a world where you cannot have a difference of opinion with your own government without paying serious consequences.
It's not a world it's in certain places
Am I the only one who misses the meme stories? There are still so many I’d like to hear about.
I'm glad keeps is basically keeping you alive at this point bcuz I almost never see any other advert but also what better advertisement than a guy who uses the product and has YEARS of evidence of it working especially after it was his fans saying "AYOOO NOT THE HAIRLINE BRO" like truly one of few stories where products show their results
I’m sorry but hooliganism has the be the best charge I’ve ever heard.
“The boy likes digging mines? Good, we have the perfect job for the little comrade…”
Kudos to that kid for refusing the "deal". Young Chad
Its really fucked up to do something to someone who's done literally nothing wrong

That’s what I was saying lmao
Should have played Quake 3 instead. 😂🤘
so this dude went one step beyond "i''ll kill putin in minecraft" to "i'll blow up the federal security building" WITHIN MINECRAFT CHAT ROOMS!
When will people in power learn the lesson that when you make a public example of a dissenter, the exact opposite of what you wanted to happen will most likely happen...
Oh yeah, that could totally never, ever happen in America. Ever.
It could. You seem to be under the impression that you can only hate one or the other, this is false. I hate both the Russian and American governments.
its sarcasm@@Biotear
Its happening in Canada funnily enough
It couldn't.
Oh hell yes I’ve been waiting like 2 months for yaaa boyyyyyeeee to cover a single story instead of compilations
Russia is a terrible place and tbh governments need to go in and force Putin out, violence is sometimes the answer
My guy Putin IS the government. Nothing short of a full on revolution can save Russia at this point
"or antagonist, depending on how you look at it" in what world would i look at it that way. these kids are based
Politics is the most confusing problem I have to be aware about
It's not confusing, any political party red or blue is trying to fuck you. And blame it on their "opposing " party
I love how in the keeps commercially like pretty much do a loop and there's really no difference Dennis like your boys looking pretty good I'm crying
Lmao thank you for the accuracy of not calling modern Russia communist or socialist like many Americans, just like China currently they are capitalist and imperialists!
fr so many americans will call ANYTHING that isn’t capitalism “socialism” it’s so stupid
@@mossyfriends1911 even when they literally are capitalist and try very little to hide it. They just aren’t friends of the United states but they definitely had to assimilate post the illegal disillusion of the USSR
China isn't capitalist really, but it certainly isn't communist either like some people still think.
The political discussion here is about as brilliant as it is on Reddit, and people wonder why I'm not optimistic about the future.
Right!
ngl, wavy's hairline actually does look more fuller and robust than before
Never in my life I have seen someone going to russian prison for talking shit in minecraft😂😂
Great video as always, can't wait for another longer video
It’s time for a wavywebsurf binge session. Been two weeks too long.
16:36 That moment when even WAVY realizes that the world has become an insane parody of itself.😮
Him being in gulag when the war started makes the chances very high he was sent to the front and possibly killed already
you easily have to be keeps best success story. looking good boss!
What have we learned about doing stuff "in minecraft" kid? Its basically a running theme at this point.
Your videos have to have the most interesting titles and they aren't clickbait
What Minecraft's oldest anarchy server does to a mf😔
The fact Russia can just do what they do with no repercussions…
Thought police literally have the same role as an armchair psychologist, but with a scary amount of political power.
Sad thing is, he's prolly gonna be sent out to the front lines in Ukraine to be used as cannon fodder
Why not just switch to Ukraine then
@@og_3rd_st_saint_gat Because the Ukranians will just send you back to russia to get ukranian POWs back.
@@og_3rd_st_saint_gat Yeah, I'm sure he would much rather be US cannon fodder.
@@maiyannahI see ty for explaining
@@og_3rd_st_saint_gat Sorry, I feel that may have come off snarky or condescending. I just mean no matter what side he were to be thrown into would be an unfortunate circumstance for him that only stands to benefit an undeserving party.
So fun fact, one of the people who was arrested in this case was actually a Minecraft 2b2t player, 2b2t being a well known anarchy server with no rules. I also highly respect Nikita not giving in even when he was offered the plea deal. He maintained that he hadn’t done anything criminal, & I respect that
All right Wavy, you got 2 whole cans of Skoal on your lip and we can still understand you, albeit marginally. Try stuffing 3 in there.
If I don't edit this I wasn't convinced that the kid didn't ask for it.
Just a fact about the molotov cocktails mentioned at 11:25 . While yes its an angsty teen thing to do it's also considered an IED in most parts of the world and is treated as such .(this includes the US , Canada and most other developed countries) so it wasn't smart of him to record that .
The old title and thumbnail was way better. "Russian teen sent to gulag over Minecraft" really grabs attention
Watched the whole thing in 17x speed can confirm it’s a banger
This proves that Russian youths have real courage, but on the otherhand proves that Putin and his comrades do not.
Bro literally no difference happened in the three years of using keeps LMFAO 💀💀
Tbf he's not looking *more* bald
Just so you know wavy, protagonist and antagonist don't mean good guy and bad guy. The protagonist is the person the story revolves around and the antagonist the the person at odds with them. The protagonist can be a villain.
I love that hooliganism is a actual crime 😂
Excuse me?
Doing time, for hooliganism lol heck yeah
I am surprised that the court finished not because of someone having loads of money
Remember: Minecraft is not real life, since you don't get consequences and multiple lives, while in real life, you get consequences
Love the content but you might be the worst person to show how good Keeps is. There’s literally no difference my guy. Also, hair isn’t everything and we shouldn’t play into it as a social stigma. Bald and thinning hair men have every right to be proud of who they are.
8:10 Incorrect, the FSB is the equivalent of the American FBI. SVR is the equivalent of the CIA. FSB and FBI deal with internal/domestic things, SVR and CIA deal with foreign threats
You forgot GRU which makes terrorism and blows up things in EU countries.

People in America: We live in a country full of fascists! They told me No! They are dictators!
People in Russia: Dude, just talking about rebelling against the government can get you in trouble. Keep your heads down!
Ever heard of Ross Ulbricht? Julian Assange? I’d say they are far worse off than the kids mentioned in this video.
Should Americans just shut up when they disagree with politicians and authorities in America? Or should they stand up for what they believe in - no matter how ‘small’ the matter is?
We’ve got a bootlicker problem in America that’s only getting worse and worse because people are brainwashed into believing they are free and government authority is good.
Just because some people may have it worse in other countries, there is nothing wrong with making a BIG deal about things that are wrong, on any level.
I’m confused on how children are being accused of terroristic threats when it clearly said on minecraft.
Type shit that happens on 2b2t
It's unfair that people talk about Russian gulags, but never talk about American gulags.
He might have grown out of his angsty teenage political beliefs... If you fucks didn't treat him like a criminal and throw him in jail for fucking around on Minecraft. Guess what? I bet he's doubling down on every anti-government sentiment he ever held, maybe even a whole bunch of new ones now too. This is how you drive a kid to the thing you want him not to become. Well done! 👏
