Hey everyone! I've been really intrigued with the NightWing tribe recently, hence this video! Lately, there has been some research done about a particular animus-touched artifact made by a NightWing...
I'm glad you found me! And that's really kind of you to say! I'll be honest though, I'm totally fine with having a small community. It's like a small family which is really nice!
You seem to have a rather Listener-aligned attitude to wards NightWing powers (though she did have one of the two herself) - which is perfectly valid and nice! I still think both powers can be really useful and used without much distress, and both Moon and Clearsight demonstrate this after their respective crises have passed. Listener exemplifies it even _before_ any sort of crisis, growing up well-adjusted with mind-reading. What I'm really curious about is what the source of the true rhyming prophecies is. Since that seems to be distinct from the other futuresight that can range from weak inklings over brief glimpses of possible events to being able to study the timelines like Darkstalker and especially Clearsight, and also whatever grander perspective Whiteout was able to achieve.
Now that you've said it, I really do have the Listener mindset. It must be a coping mechanism? I'm not entirely sure. I imagine that prophecies come into the world when a future is completely certain in the universe. We see this with Moon and Allknowing when they share their prophecies, and they did occur in some way. Visions, like the dragonflame cactus explosion, were merely flashes because it was uncertain about who would survive the disaster. That's my insight though - pleeeeease let me know if I'm missing something.

Though what a "certain future" is can be quite vague in that case, as we see when we examine the various known prophecies: "From far to the north, a prince will arrive, seething with darkness and sparkling with ice. In his blood runs a gift for the whole NightWing tribe, But it comes with a terrible price." "Hatched of ice and hatched of night. Cursed with moons all shining bright. Longs for power not his own. Comes to steal your very throne." "Dragon of chaos, tangling the webs, Too many eyes and too many threads." "Beware your two queens; beware your own power. Your claws will betray you in your final hour." Plus Moonwatcher's two prophecies, which are both "X unless Y" prophecies about pivot points of (un)certainty.
@@SilverScroll I agree about the vagueness of what is the definitive future. These prophecies still did occur one way or another whether if it was in anyone's favor (correct me if I'm wrong on this assumption).
@@DatOneDragon Oh yeah, they definitely did all occur. The one instance we have of an incorrect prophecy is the one that predicted that Arctic's and Foeslayer's eggs would both hatch on the Brightest Night - and that could either be a misinterpretation (as we don't know the exact text of the prophecy), or it's possible that prophecies mess up once fate-altering power on the level of Darkstalker comes into play (as he almost did _make_ that prophecy happen, but decided not to). It's still curious to think about where they _come from,_ though.
Mind reading is definitely a No-No For me. From Moons perspective there was not a lot of bad or inappropriate thoughts from people. But from most of the people in my life I would not like reading their thoughts. Thought it would help me calculate the best way to approach situations I would decline. Also I’m extremely afraid of Mindreaders, For two years I would do this thing where I mentally blocked my thoughts from like getting mind read. (I was just a paranoid idiot). I wouldn’t mind Visions, they have many upsides including making sure the best future is possible. Moons visions showed only life threatening and world changing things while Clearsights was: if I eat a banana instead of an apple this will change today’s entire course. (It was really detail oriented). Personally I wouldn’t mind something in between those to, also maybe in the future some learn how to turn their powers on and off or say there is a Nightwing Rainwing hybrid: there power only works at night. There are so many possibilities in the future and how these powers would affect people in our world and dragons in theirs.
Although I personally wouldn't have either, I see where you're coming from! It's really cool seeing other peoples' perspectives on the matter since all of us have vastly different experiences. Thanks for commenting!!
Yes. I agree, BUT! I think that seer would be the most useful out of the two, mindreading doesn't help anyone unless you're a detective or something , if you were to have a choice between mindreading and seer... seering? You should go for seering. Anyway, Hviter getting dusted away by Burn is obviously the perfect time to start beatboxing... lol beatboxing is so weird to spell, its like trying to spell 3 words at once but you only have ten fingers and you have to perfectly time it (Perfect exaple)
Haha, I honestly forgot I left that blooper in there! Personally, if I were forced to choose between the two, I might actually go with foresight. Not the biggest fan of wandering through peoples' thoughts
