    Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express Accident News Live Updates: The collision between the Sealdah-bound 13174 Kanchanjungha Express and a goods train resulted in the loss of at least five lives and left more than 20 individuals with severe injuries, as stated by a high-ranking North Frontier Railway (NFR) official on Monday morning.
    The incident took place in the vicinity of Rangapani, situated near the New Jalpaiguri station.
    The accident occurred at approximately 9 am while the Kanchanjungha Express was traveling from Agartala to Sealdah. The train had been progressing along its designated route when the unfortunate collision with the goods train transpired, leading to the tragic consequences. Kanchanjunga Express Accident LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and ₹50,000 for injured after at least 15 passengers were killed and 60 passengers were injured after a goods train rammed into the Kanchanjunga Express from behind in West Bengal's New Jalpaiguri on Monday, reports news agency PTI. Sources said that at least two bogies of the Kanchanjunga Express were derailed after the collision.
    "Five passengers have died, 30 injured in the accident. The situation is serious. The incident occurred when a goods train rammed into Kanchenjunga Express," Abhishek Roy, Additional SP of Darjeeling Police said to ANI.
    The accident took place around 11 km from New Jalpaiguri station in north Bengal, one of the largest and busiest stations in Northeast Frontier Railway zone in eastern and northeastern India.
