I'm 100% one of those 5-6 in my church.
Ah yes... the last time I darkened the door of my home church, I came away nearly in tears. I felt like I had been in children's church. The message was just so vapid. I'm truly saddened.
However...
I have found a community on-line and we pray and share together 7 nights per week, often for multiple hours per night. "Doing church" daily is so much deeper than "Sunday go to meetin'."
Praise the Lord for the missives that Dr. Heiser left behind for our edification. While not equivalent to Scripture, they do, indeed, change the way I read Scripture, and even how I pray.

I thank God for Michael Heiser's time among us. I have a much more rich view of Biblical history and greater insight into the mind of the author(s) of scripture because of him.
Just started reading The unseen realm today. Wow its great. Ive always thought the same way as what you are telling us in this book. If that makes sense. I cant wait to finish it and get more of your books. I know you wont be reading this since you arent in this realm anymore but still wanted to share it.
So glad videos are still being uploaded even after Dr. Heisers passing... to whomever is responsible for continuing to upload his work, Thankyou. Dr. Heiser is an absolute LEGEND and is responsible for helping me in my walk with Jesus Christ in ways I could never even begin to communicate on a UA-cam Comment Section. Dr. Heiser has produced Absolutely life changing work.
Amen! Same conclusion I've come to. "Stop trying to systematize or use these things as filters for Scripture." It makes us blind little mice.

Funny and true. I have been on a journey for a long time.
I agree with Heiser a lot and am defintely grateful for his rediscoveries and sharing what he found. It has helped me immensely understand the Bible. That being said some of these comments are disturbing and it seems that there are people who care more about being right than being a Christian. Heiser could be prideful at times, which was unfortunate, but he was a sinner just like the rest of us. Use what he discovered, like I do, to answer younger unbelievers questions about God, Jesus, the Bible, “aliens”, or whatever. It’s pointless to hate the old churches and their politics, keep moving forward and spread the Gospel. God bless.

I am out of religion a long time, now i follow the Biblical Jesus, and i have learned so much, but what really makes us different is we after we keep insisting on studying the Bible alone, The Holy Spirit, very slowly He begins to teach us, and we start to develop a personal relationship with our Lord, God, and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who then becomes our friend, and we start to Love him with a burning fire that comes from the inside, and we use the Gospels as our Personal path that leads to Eternal Life, and this is no Lie. Shalom.

@@razorknight92 depends on how you interpret this fellow. Sounds like broken English. I took it to mean that he had at one time been a part of "religion", but now follows the Biblical Jesus. He did not elaborate on what that "religion" was. It may not have been 'Christian' or it may have been something compromised like Roman Catholicism. He didn't say. What he did say was that now he has found the "real" Jesus of the Bible, and that by being dedicated to personal study, he is being enlightened by the Holy Spirit to understand more fully, and is developing a personal relationship with Christ. ALL of which IS Biblical! He did not indicate that he was not part of a church. And even if you are part of a church, you must supplement church attendance with private study. It's very difficult to "grow" as a believer in most of our modern churches in the West.
@@Funkydood He didn't say whether or not he attends a church, only that he used to be in some kind of "religion" (maybe a non-Christian one, or something like Roman Catholicism--he didn't say). But he has NOW discovered a personal relationship with the Christ of the Bible and seems devoted to draw near through much private study and time with the Lord....ALL of which is Biblical.

Michael Heiser has done great things for modern day church what Prometheus did, brought divine flame to the common people and taught them how to use it.
ALL denominations are wrong. If you disagree, tell me, what denomination were the 3000 souls on Pentecost Sunday?
Yes. I tried to find the true one, but each debunks the other, but none change when errors are found. So after years of study I have made a Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity', those are false teachings that have taken root.

@@YeshuaKingMessiah The Apostles who wrote Epistles warned that already the religion inherited by Jesus had false teaching, whether foolish Galatians or inexcusable Romans, or Gnostics as John taught. Thet tried to put people right as the NT records, but the true roots of the religion were already lost.
Neither Christianity, Judaism or Islam are legitimate as none follow the Torah of Abraham, as Jesus is his 'seed' the truth lies in the religion of Abraham. That is the theme of my Ytube video series 'Myths in so-called Christianity' in getting back to the roots in Abraham.
They were Jews in Jerusalem for Shavuot, which we know as Pentecost.

I don't think most people have appreciated how much youtube has changed how Bible study is done. I've seen Covenant theology youtubers use the exact same verses that Dispensational theology youtubers use to support their positions and vice-versa. UA-cam had made it more clear than ever that we are all operating from various systems that cheat a little. Its time we all pulled our horns in a little.

I love Dr. Heiser. He got me to start thinking about the "unseen realme". But my frustration is this. Heiser is now gone, and without a (trustworthy) guide, thousands of Christians who have been encouraged to develope their own ideas will inevitably produce thousands of erroneous ideas (if not outright heresies). You just can't go out and tell Christians to forget what they've been taught and go figure it out for themselves. Christianity will disappear without a trace like an ice cube on a hot sidewalk.
But there is One in charge. So it'll be fine in the end. Because He is faithful to complete the work He started in us, in demonstrating His Manifold wisdom

I don't think Dr. Heiser is what sustains Christianity.
“I don’t care” seems to be an unloving way to phrase something with good intent. It also gets in the way to winsomely and “caringly” (which is Jesus’ example) reach someone by not learning how to empathetically work with people’s hearts to believe (Romans 10:9-10).
Earth is Yahweh’s Everlasting Lake of Fire, his furnace of roaring flames where, in his furious wrath, he will gather you up, put you in, and smelt you. If your name is not in the book of life, he will refine you, remove your dross, and purify you until the Devil, the False Prophet, and the Beast are cleansed from you.
The Father is great than I. Adam, the Christ, wields the fiery sword and judges the world. Yahweh judged the heavens themselves. Adam had a university of trees to learn from. Further, Adam was not deceived before being sent out from the kingdom prepared at the foundation of the world, the heavenly home, or Garden of Eden.
Jesus is lifted up like the Serpent (Yahweh) in the desert after he judges the world. On the day of the great slaughter. On the day he binds up the wounds left from his blows. Jesus judged the world and was made to be sin as the Lawless One, the Beast, Leviathan etc. Yahweh judged the heavens themselves and was made to be the snake, the Ancient Serpent of Old, and they are transfigured and revealed to be the Ancient One of Days with Christ washing his feet.
To 'strike at' the head or heel means to watch over, guard, or protect. Snake means Shining One, Glistening One - Morning Star, or the light of the world. While there is enmity between the two, the plan is one of salvation. I.e. Jacob strikes at the heel of Esau, who protects, guards, watches over, or otherwise serves Jacob. During this period, Adam is the word of the will of Yahweh, the lamp of the light of Yahweh, and the image of the substance of Yahweh.
There are two appearances, the sacrifice and the resurrection. They take place within the same generation, at the end of the ages, the time of the harvest. They are the First Beast and the Second Beast. Christ (Adam) wields the fiery sword on the day of vengeance as judgment. Are they, Christ and Yahweh, unjust to inflict wrath? Of course not. How else could they judge?
Warning of the impending Day of the Lord, he was swallowed by the Beast out of the Sea (sacrifice) and spewed out upon the shore as the Beast out of the Earth (resurrection), as the sun beat down upon his head and a burning east wind began the Way of the Lord in the Desert.
Yahweh and Christ/ Satan and Adam/ Jacob and Esau/ Behemoth and Leviathan/ David and the Son of David/ Peter and Jesus... are the same two individuals. David, your king, rides the Donkey and the Bride of David rides the foal of the Donkey.
In the beginning, darkness covered the kingdom of the Abyss, the people were empty and void of understanding, having become corrupted, and he shielded you as the apple of his eye. All are sinners cast down to earth with the God of this world. The ruler of this world has been condemned. Now is the time of judgment on this world; now will the ruler of this world be driven out to inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Jesus' domain is forever peaceful. Jesus ascends beyond the heavens. A kingdom was prepared at the foundation of the world. One that is forever peaceful. The Ancient One of Days takes a seat upon a throne on the Mount of Assembly. Christ is the Root and Offspring of Yahweh (David).
I love most of his teachings but it blows me away how he misses out on eschatology
