18:10 Furudate-sensei making sure Oikawa will always make an appearance everywhere but Nationals. #JUSTICEFORTHEGREATKING And THAT SET everybody..!! That set, makes our Serene King stand on the same level as The Great King.. hence they showed us Oikawa's frustration, basically telling us HE KNOWS.. he knows the moment has finally come when his student reaches his ceiling.
YES! I love how right after that Kageyama is calm and gets a powerful service ace. Then Tobio uses Oikawa's same exact soft serve that he used on the last point of season 1 to throw off Inarizaki. Thus completing the arc that Kageyama has caught up in his evolution.
It's such a small moment but my favorite moment in the entire anime is the Aoba Johsai guy slamming on the table yelling "Get back! Get back!" Just that support from rivals is so real and wholesome. Sure it isn't the most breathtaking moment or the most hype moment but it makes me smile every single time.
@@lachyywhite yesh I loved that they showed it because Karasuno is, afterall, their Prefecture representative. They're really there representing all of Miyagi not simply their highschool a spot they fought so hard for. It's great to see the others acknowledge and support them.😆
Kita's dialogue on ep 23 changed my perspective in life forever. No joke. Being a college student surrounded by people who are much more talented and greater than me brings so much punch to myself back then. I went to this negative mindset that these people are just born with such amazing talent, but thanks to haikyuu I was able to get out of this negativity and change my mindset for the better. No joke but, THIS IS THE BEST ANIME EVER!!!!
@@ju4niittow Laxzone is incredible because he gets so invested and emotional (i love watching his reactions). But for the techincals, the holy trifecta is (in my opinion) as mentioned above :)
29:35 Basically Hinata forced Kageyama to toss. As Setter, he could have ignored Hinata as decoy and set for a regular quick to other players, but Hinata, being the way he is, was already in possition to attack, so Kageyama was the one that had to react to his play and therefore "match" Hinata. Atsumu comment means that Hinata don't trust that toss will come, but rather that the ball will be there by the time he reach his contact point, as in "I want this ball here, right NOW". And when Atsumu explained that, Osamu reaction was "I mean, yeah. That's normal", meaning that all this time Osamu was doing same exact thing to Atsumu without him even realizing it.
When you said "Reacting to the last few episodes of this show". LIKE WHAT TF U MEANNN. It was Season 1 reactions yesterday 😭😭 Thank you for reacting to this masterpiece of a show. It's been a wild and amazing ride watching with you Lachy. I'm always down to rewatch Haikyuu as many times with new reactors coz it feels like I'm experiencing the show for the first time again. It sucks there was no season 5 but I'm very excited for your reaction to the movie!
When everyone is consumed by speed, making them narrow their vision.. WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT, comes the day that Hinata's the only one who has complete awareness of their surrounding, he's the only one who can grasp Ukai's voice on the sideline when things are so hectic atm. I was literally Suga😭.. reminiscing about our tangerine baby crow growing up so fast😭
"We don't need miracles" is such a simple line, it doesn't even get that much hype within the show, but it's one of the things that has stuck with me the most, and I come back to it a lot when I'm overwhelmed, And YES, that moment of Tsukki trusting Hinata to be behind him and Hinata acknowledging how good Tsukki is as a blocker? Beautiful.
Love that it also parallels the "We don't need the memories" but in reverse. We don't need the memories is like "All the special things we've gotten, we don't need it. We just need the drive to get even better" and we dont need miracles is like "We've worked hard to get better, so we don't need anything special"
I always interpreted the fact that we see the the ball drop through Kita's eyes as a sign of an alternate ending, in another universe where the coach agreed with Kita and left him on the court he would've picked up that ball because he's always behind the twins when they're doing something "reckless". Also can you believe that we were left with that end-credit scene for YEARS before we ever heard anything about the show coming back
Atsumu's declaration about setting to hinata one day just proves how much he admired hinata's playstyle and wanted to play with him in future wherever it may be. But he said he will be going to set to him- that means he knows hinata's going to be somewhere up there plus he will be there too and they will meet again. Getting recognized by another setter than kageyama also means a lot since there are many setters like him at this national level and atsumu is on top for now. I hope we get to see them in a team someday. idk if it will ever happen but request to manga readers, please don't spoil it in replies xD
I really do think Atsumu was making that declaration with the implication that he truly thinks he and Hinata could both end up on the same pro teams, playing for Japan or something, being that Atsumu has already been scouted and it's obvious to him Hinata isn't far behind
Another piece of Haikyuu poetry that just couldn't really make it to the anime due to the differences in the mediums (copypasting my explanation from another reaction): when Tanaka talks about the trust Kageyama puts in him, the author uses a neat lil trick in Japanese - with kanji, they write the word "threat", but they indicate that it has to be read as "trust". I'd say it serves to further accent Kageyama's "royal" nature and the good kind of intimidation he has to him now that he knows how to use it better. I actually quite like the English translation of Tanaka's thoughts in the manga for that bit: "No way that was plain ol' encouragement. That was a threat. He was saying, 'Show them why I have faith in you'." Kita's "rant" was wonderful. Furudate used his character to come back to the "talent VS skill" topic that they first brought up with Kageyama and Oikawa back in the beginning, because they ended up being somewhat dissatisfied with how they approached it at first. So yeah, Kita really drops bangers like it's nothing. Also, Furudate was struggling with the final point - they needed both twins in the front row for the quick, but Osamu ended up being in the back row, which they regretted at first. Then they realized that the twins would use the quick at that point no matter what, so we had the minus tempo from the back row, which was arguably even more Miya-like.
33:22 i want to point out that here Asahi means he is lucky to have hit such an amazing setter's sets but also he feels sorry for the newcomers who will hit Kageyama's sets after he graduates because now Kageyama with his tosses is saying "HIT THIS". Same thing as how he made Tsukishima jump higher, and how he refused Tanaka's request and said hit it. Also in manga, what Tanaka says when hitting at 15:55, he actually exactly says "That wasnt encouragement, it was a threat. He is saying 'show them why im putting this much trust in you'" which i think explains Kageyama's growth into his new king personality better!
30:07 Although I think your assessment of Hinata is correct, I think there's an additional nuance. Hinata has high expectations & demands for Kageyama, even a sense of entitlement. Just like how others have mentioned that Kageyama's "trust" in Tanaka has a mix of "threat", so does Hinata's trust in Kageyama. 28:53 In this point scored by Hinata, he jumped sooo fast before Kageyama could even think that an attack was possible. 29:00 You could see the split second where Kageyama lost to Hinata's fast initiative. Hinata's saying "I'm ready to kill this ball. Don't tell me you aren't?" Osamu & Atsumu feel the same way towards each other. In the 1st set, Osamu's inner dialogue was [paraphrased], "It's not like I trust my twin. I mean, I KNOW the ball's coming my way." They both demand so much from each other. Since Osamu is the spiker, he's similar to Hinata like "I want the ball, and I want to kill this point. Of course you're supposed to toss to me." So Atsumu's like, "You (Hinata & Osamu) should be more considerate about our (setter's) feelings!" PS - 28:53, This moment also proves that Hinata's game IQ has improved significantly since ball boy arc. Hinata was actually faster than Kageyama in attacking. They're usually in-sync, which is how they can use the freak quick so consistently, but this time, even if it's a small moment, Hinata beat Kageyama the Genius in a technical aspect. Makes it exciting to anticipate how much more Hinata can catch up to Kageyama. In the same vein, ever since S2 when Tsukki started taking vball seriously, he's been digging once every blue moon, even though it's his biggest game weakness. We even see Tsukki do an epic, desperate dive this set. S1 Tsukki would have never haha. Another instance when actively "reading" the game translates so much to receiving. 48:00 What's even more impressive about the final block point was that this was the twin's 1st freak quick back attack ever. It took Hinata mid S2 to manage a back attack (though Hinata's height & low fundamentals lvl are factors). That's why most of Karasuno flinched as they start to go back to position. Hinata & Kageyama didn't because they knew it was within the realm of possibilities that the twins could do a freak quick back attack. In a way, they respect the twins for copying the freak quick TODAY & being able to use it consistently the entire match. Hinata & Kageyama didn't underestimate them. 53:31 Additional parallel between this match & S1 loss against Seijoh: Hinata & Kageyama got blocked on their final freak quick, and Hinata apologized to Daichi. Daichi & Kita both said that it was not a mistake to use that quick, so don't apologize. 58:54 The news is making a meta comment about the (cheating) Nohebi snake guy being jealous of the cats, Nekoma. 1:01:25 Bokuto is a 3rd yr, Akaashi is a 2nd yr. Regardless whether they win or not, they'll break up after this tournament
I don't know if you noticed that. Asumu immediately called Hinata by his first name, even though he doesn't know him. Only the closest friends or family members actually do that. Look who else calls Hinata Shoyo. The list is not long. its starts at very early in the game.
I love that you remembered the end of Karauno’s first match against Seijoh -- against the “we don’t need the memories” team, those ‘memories’ Hinata and Kageyama had were really important after all!! And nooo not the last Haikyuu day soon, it can’t be…. I don’t know how it would work, but I think I’m not alone in saying I would love to see you check out the manga and share your reactions to everything that happens after the movie, at your own pace and if you’re ever up for it of course!!
@@lachyywhite Also HIGHLY recommend reading the Nekoma match too even if you've seen the movie or will see the movie soon. They skipped some good stuff I would've loved to have seen in the movie for that match.
Yo @lachyywhite I would 100% watch if you will drop videos reading the manga. I remember when I finished watching the series, I held off in reading the manga because I wanted to experience Haikyuu in motion with great animation to feel the adrenaline and hype like what I felt watching S1-S4. I gave in when I started following fan pages and boy, it did not disappoint. I felt the rush and the emotions just like how the anime did. The life lessons and the growth of everyone just made me cry especially when I reached the end because I didn't want it to be over.
This libero doesn't get the hype he deserves 😂 this game is just so frustrating at times that we don't give the poor guy the recognition that he is good
you are really one of my favorite haikyuu reactors, maybe you eventually can have a friend that likes volleyball but hasn’t watched it to watch it with you, haikyuu is definitely a show that has to be rewatched a second watch really is a whole different experience
I love Atsumu's "I'll set to you one day!". He's realized that Hinata is the perfect hitter for him. Hinata would never complain about his sets because Atsumu puts utmost care in EVERY single set, at the same time Atsumu would never complain and would be able to 100% trust Hinata because he doesn't have the luxury of only giving 80%, Hinata goes all out on every spike. And he's essentially acknowledging that Hinata will one day rise to the level of the other monsters, such a Ushijima, Hoshiumi (white hair dude), Kageyama and others. That he will one day play at their level as if he were no different. He's telling him "I'll wait for you at the top, come and join me as a teammate whenever you are ready.".
I would argue that nobody was more important to Hinata's development as a player than Washijo Sensei, not even his rivalry with Kageyama. Ukai and Takeda alluded to it before the first year training camp but it was Washijo's bluntness that cracked Hinata's thick skull open wide enough for the lesson to sink in. I sort of imagine Washijo never missing a single one of Hinata's games for the rest of his life.
I just realised at 40:20 how Tsukishima actually looks at the banner 'You don't need the memories' before changing it up with his normal 'just get it over serve' and actually trying something different.
When Kita is talking about them not doing back attacks during the Shiratorizawa match, he's talking about Daichi specifically, not Karasuno as a whole.
from miya twins who loved inarizaki's concept of "we don't need memories" so much and were obsessed with never thinking back and always trying out new things to in the end say to Kita "we will be the juniors you can brag to your grandkids about"... meaning they will try their best to create great memories for Kita... such a great writing.
Who knew a Volleyball show could be this damn good. It made me fall in love with the sport and it's truly sad it's not as big as the NBA or even the NHL. It's truly the perfect team game and deserves an audience that I love the creator of this show masterfully captured. I only wish we would have got one more full season before a movie as we're going to miss so much content that couldn't make it into the movies.
Oikawa appearing in an episode with King in the title? More likely than you’d think… I love how Atsumu accidentally created more of a monster in Kageyama just from being his normal, abrasive self lmao. But hey like you said, Kgeyama rising to new heights means that Atsumu is challenged so much more to be better as well! Also Tsukki giving Hinata props in ep 23 (3:53) and then Hinata doing the same to Tsukki an episode later (31:41) !!! their relationship growth just makes me so happy… They both bug each other a ton still, but it’s great to see the real understanding, respect and camaraderie there ☀️🌙
I love how even the show recognizes and brings up that Inarizaki's libero is the unsung hero of their team and STILL refuses to give him any screen time or even a name lol.
Glad i finally saw this, its been queued for me for a few days, but ive been busy. Hinata's growth is so good and we get such a good end cap to the season with it. Hinata becoming a full player is what makes this season edge out season 4 over season 2. Also the day of writing this i weight in for the first time since probably about 2012 since i was under 300lbs. Ive lost 231 lbs in total so far.
So there’s a bit of a hinata inner dialogue that was removed. It would’ve been after the point at the end of episode 23. “I don’t care if the ball is too high or too low. If it’s too short or too close to the net. So long as my setter tries his best to set the ball. I’ll take it”
Quick notes: TV News "that's our story of a snake being jealous of the cat" "Must be hard being that snake" references the guy there with his girlfriend (he was on the snake team) and how he's jealous of Nekoma (the cat). And yea, like how Oikawa felt at the end of last season, it can't be easy having to watch your rivals soar. One of my favs: the scene where the third years are talking at night. It is such a touching call back to s1e15 (cruncyroll 1:00-2:00) when big softie Asahi talks about how he wants to do exactly this. Seriously, go back and watch that one minute. The context of that scene always gets me. Kuroo's rock/paper/scissor analogy sums up sports so well. So many variables, and you can never say "well we woulda beat/lost vs that other team" even if you played that team that season....every game is its' own. The Ukais post credit scene is also one of my favorites in the series. Coach has grown as much, if not more, than anyone. He has become one of the best coaches in the series within one year...and yea, gramps is probably right that it helps you be a great coach when you weren't a great player. Wayne Gretzky was a pretty mid coach. Can't fathom MJ, Brady, Ronaldo coaching. I LOVEEE the announcers in this match. HA he thinks we get 2 weeks off in America for the holidays....maybe if we knew compound words like "work/life balance"
Hahaha the Americans always working. Ah I get the snake and cat joke now thank you for explaining it 😂😂 I definitely loved the end scene a lot as well, was super wholesome and nice to see them being kind to each other for once hahah
22:28 I think what's so subtle and special about the monologue is how Hinata is in the frame when Kita is talking about them not being geniuses from the start as Hinata is realistically as skilled as the two teamates Kita is talking to, but he has the same insatiable drive and love for the sport as the Miya twins.
KAGEYAMA'S SMUGGEST "NICE KILL" WHILE HE NEVER WANTS TO GIVE HINATA ANY "NICE" COMPLIMENTS LMAO (remember when he grabs hinata by his collar, and tries his hardest not to say "NICE COVER" but he can't deny that it was a good save from Hinata and 2 episodes ago when he rather made himself look like a fool and a liar, than admit his own words the "NICE RECEIVE" HAHAHHAHA IM DEAD)
hahaha Oikawa's ear will always be a Haikyuu MOMENT! when it aired...we went a bit crazyyyyy!!! He is everywhere! maybe not on the court though hahahahhaha Kageyama just reached his mentor's level...ahahhaha and the mentor, being who he is, is juuuust a litttleeee bit upset (his smile was hiding a bit of pride though...hihiihihi)
The short montage after Hinata's high receive and Sugawara thinking back to how he was the 1st season really gets to me. All he ever wanted to do was spike, nonstop. Now here he is with not only a clean receive, but with the foresight to make it high so that his team can catch their breath and reset properly. That's the true growth of Hinata, how he's not just in love with spiking, he's in love with volleyball.
regarding aran's service routine. i actually love it but i think its missed opportunity to implement it into his backstory. we see aran in the background of kita's and twins backstory but we dont learn a lot about aran. When i first saw his serving routine i was convinced we gonna have a backstory about him and it would be something among the lines of him being transfer student from USA and back in USA he was basketball player but inarizaki school didnt have basketball team so he switched to volleyball and he got to top5 by having different fundamentals from average volleyball player thanks to his basketball background. But alas we get none of that and i am very saddened by it XD
Not sure if you realized but Hinata & Kageyama winning by blocking a freak quick back attack is exactly what Oikawa did to them for Karasuno to lose the first tournament to Seijo.
I always go through and watch reactors for the super hype moments in haikyu and get their take on it, but I've never truly sat and watched all of the episodes with any of them, but with your videos, I've watched every single haikyu episode in full, your reactions and your insight and your understanding of team sports and how the players are feeling in certain moments makes for some very entertaining videos. Great stuff Lachy keep up the great work my brother.
I COULDN'T BOTHER KEPT SAYING HOW MUCH OF A MASTERPIECE HAIKYU'S STORYTELLING!! 22:20 *Hardwork vs Talent theme* My boy, Kita's speech about my fav theme of the show "Hardwork vs Talent" is an outstanding example and the highlight of this ep. You can't disrespect the hardwork of these people by calling them merely 'talented'. But it's also true that innate ability exists whether you like it or not. Hardwork is a talent in itself that you earn if you throw yourself in the things that make you passionate. 21:04 This is why Oikawa is one character that held my highest respect in this show. 42:35 *Taking it easy callback* Hinata is the embodiment of true sunshine!!🌞 The whole sequence when Ukai starts monologing about 'Speed is a Curse'.. When the edge of the screen turns vignette as Karasuno players' views become narrow, making everything feel claustrophobic and suffocating . As things keep going faster and faster, the darkness keeps creeping towards the center of the screen, until my son Hinata, our little sunny boy with his 'take it easy' first touch, literally beaming and lights up everything. MASTERCLASS DIRECTING, ABSOLUTE CINEMA 🙌 46:21 *Speed is powerful but not invincible callback* Tsukki is cooking in his inner monologue trusting his teammates (kagehina) and knowing full well they're the perfect match duo that can handle Twins' Minus Tempo. His line "Speed is a very powerful, attractive and charming weapon.. but even so, it is not invincible".. was a direct callback way to S1Ep17 when coach Ukai said "Your fast attack is a powerful weapon, but it is not invincible" while showing Hinata and Kageyama when coach Ukai said that, paralleling the scene that shows KageHina when Tsukki repeated it. The monologue GIVES ME TEARY EYES, his voice is so soothing😭 47:29 *1st official match vs Seijoh mirrors Inarizaki's* The final play comes back as a full circle moment mirroring Karasuno's end-game point in the match against Seijoh. Showing Karasuno has come so far, they become the very opponent on the other side of the net that stops their own ultimate weapon. Chef's kiss writing 😘👌
There are so many things I loved about those last episodes! The declaration from Atsumu that he will set for Hinata one day. Oh, dear, it was such a compliment! I loved it. While Ushijima did not see much potential in Hinata and was sceptic about it, Atsumu immediately sniffed how high he could reach, how much room for growth he had, and how he could improve other players' games and impact the mood of the game. Atsumu understood Hinata was the reason why "the goody-two-shoes" is not here anymore and he was inspired/charmed by him even though they lost. Kita mature approach was inspiring to the whole team - having such role model must be amazing. Stern and pragmatic but such a strong pillar for the team - especally for Atsumi and Osamu who needed some balance for their wildness and craziness. I don't want to make spoilers so I will ask - do you plan to check the manga as well? Or we can spoil you about future of some characters? Please, let us know! Another thing I loved was Tsukishima's narrative - after watching the whole series and his struggles, his pessimistic view on things, and his irritation with Hinata's mindset, it was so significant to hear him being the one commenting on Hinata/Kageyama quick being double aged sword that they not only can use but can confront as well. Tsukki noticed the moment that made Hinata "get one level deeper into the volleyball". All those moments, presented from his POV, hit twice as much. I also liked how the show presented different ways of seeing this tournament - for those who did not plan to play after high school it was one last moment with the team, leaving their younger teammates to continue the team legacy. For those who plan their future as professional athletes, it was one step closer to their dream career. For those who struggle - it was a challenge and a learning opportunity. Like, the amount of layers this show gives us is crazy. And the best part? The show makes sure we understand that rivals are not enemies. We saw so many people from different schools that are rivals for Karasuno and all of them seem to tune into the game in the most genuine way. So many of them notice things Hinata learned during training camp - it must be inspiring for them as well to see how training pay off. Loved every minute of this show and your reaction and can't wait for you to react to the movie.
I cannot even imagine what gruesome ways you'd want to kill Nishinoya with if he played for the opposing team. The beef with Inarizaki's setter is personal😂
Since this the penultimate Haikyuu Day, I have some thing I would like to share. In one of the previous episodes you talked about trying. That mini speech inspired me so much, I applied for a scholarship I felt was out of my reach and I got it! I have had so much fun watching this with you! I wait for Haikyuu day with much anticipation.
YOOOOOOOOO THIS IS SO COOL!! Congratulations legend and thanks so much for sharing. It means the world you take the time to watch this show again with me, and I'm forever grateful 👑♥
@ What’s more, I’m about to start my own “ball boy arch” so to speak. I didn’t get picked to compete this (school) year in a competition I competed in last year and I am really struggling at school. Hinata’s change in perspective truly struck a cord with me. So, I will update with my progress. I’m late with your ‘mic’d up volleyball’ but I’ll get get caught up. I’ll be around!
The parallel between the twins' Minus Tempo Back Attack getting blocked and Kageyama and Hinata's quick getting blocked in Season 1 always makes me shiver. It's such great writing. The fact that they even had the same internal thoughts as Kageyama and Hinata, that everything was perfect... but it still got blocked anyway. So good.
Honestly, even though Inarizaki lost, i still believe they are the best team in the game so far. Their players are individual mosters AND they can work together too. Like other than Shiratorizawa for the obvious reasons, this is the team that i can believe IF karasuno lost to. Like this team is legit so good. Ofcourse there is one more..but i ll keep my mouth shut till they actually do show off.
So much to go over. Inarizaki was amazing. One of my favorite teams for sure. Tanaka’s arc over this match was incredible. That line shot was FUCKING SICK!!! That’s why he’s one of the BEST characters in this show. Tsukki trusting Hinata to pick up that ball melted my heart man. Their relationship has really grown a lot. Hinata’s high pass was so well done. Suga nearly made me cry with his little talk about Hinata and far he’s come from just wanting to spike. Also, when Atsumu said he was going to set for Hinata one day, it’s exactly what you thought. He was talking about at a professional level. That line always gives me chills. Atsumu wasn’t kidding when he said Hinata moved him. Hope you get better Lachty. Thanks for the great content!
20:44 kita’s genius speech is one of my favorite parts of the season, that or the last point - the wonder duo being the ones to show the twins that move and then being the ones to stop it is peak! and then kita watching the ball hit the floor… these last three episodes are amazing!!!
I'm so glad you finished Season 4 just in time for the movie to hit streaming! Maybe it's just me, but it feels like a lot of reactors didn’t show the same excitement for the Dumpster Battle Movie as they usually would. It seems like the long wait since watching the series might have lessened their hype for Haikyuu. I can't wait for you to check out the movie-I absolutely love your reactions and commentary, just like Sarah P. does!
This is almost completely off track but the way he cheered for daichi not giving up on the match point made me think. You guys. You guys Lachy reacting to Black Clover. Think about it. IT WOULD BE INSANE
We had to wait over THREE YEARS for the movie dude. You get to watch this one right away. I can't wait to see your reaction. Thanks for this bonus triple one.
Hinata my beautiful ray of sunshine. A competitor who challenges himself first and foremost and who challenges others with overwhelming positivity and continuous growth. He’s become my role model for how I would like to compete in my own arena in life.
A cool parallel from this match to season 1 is that Karasuno lost in Season 1 to Aoba Josai by using the quick as the last attack and this time, Inarizaki who didnt' get the chance to learn how to use the quick effectively lost from stealing the same move that lost them in season 1. Pretty cool parallel.
Now, imagine having to wait 4 years to see the Battle of the Garbage Dump movie. To be honest, i just couldnt handle and just went to read the mangá hahah
an hour of absolute peak man i'm glad i've been here from the start!! such an incredible journey, i really think you're the best haikyuu reactor out there with your attentiveness, analysis, humour and emotional responses, and there's so little left to watch..!! inarizaki vs karasuno match is my favourite in all haikyuu
I’m so excited and sad to know the Haikyuu reactions will be coming to a close for some time. It was an amazing journey but it doesn’t end here of course. Plenty of other content you make I enjoy even though Haikyuu will be coming to close soon. I personally really enjoyed the movie, though I agree with the sentiment that everyone else has of wishing it was a whole season. Thanks so much for the reactions and commentary you put out into the world! I don’t know how you did it but you somehow made Haikyuu even more inspiring for me to experience again.
Thanks so much for your kind words legend, it means the world to me having you here to have watched with me. It's been so great and I'll definitely miss the Haikyuu days
with this channel ever since the first haikyu reaction. seeing you grow together with the boys is an honor NOW TIME FOR THE MOVIE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yes, the ending music is the opening theme of season 1. I can't believe it's over. I still remember watching your first reaction video where you said it might have been a mistake to watch Haikyuu and that you've cried several times, lol! You don't know how hard I prayed that you'll continue, I subscribed immediately! I cried a lot on the first episode, too, lol! Eposode 1 is the perfect introduction to our lead characters, and watching their heroes' journey is such a joy. I felt the same watching your first Haikyuu reaction video, and I love watching your Haikyuu journey. I'm gonna miss the times you steal their dialogues and accidentally spoil yourself with your commentaries, lol! ❤❤❤
It is crazy how far we've come now! But I do remember that first reaction and so many of you being there and continuing to watch the whole time. It's meant to the world to me but I am super excited to watch the movie as well!
I was here since episode 01. Didn't missed a video. What an absolute GREAT series to watch. With your insights and your reactions, It was truly perfect man. I love this show so much.
i can't believe it's almost our last haikyuu day 😭 is this when we start campaigning for lachy to do videos where he reads the manga? just kidding... unless? thanks for these reactions, man. i feel very lucky that you happened to pop up on my recommendeds back when you were starting season 1. it's rare to find a reactor as attentive and invested as you are, and these videos really helped push me through a tough semester and reinvigorate my love for this amazing series. it's been kind of fun watching you react to this at the same time as mha season 4, because they were airing at around the same time as now four years ago. cheers!
Thanks so much for your kind words legend, it means the world to me having you here along to watch with me. I'm super glad I was able to help work through the semester and I hope you have an awesome end of year
I have a LOT to say. I started watching your videos just because of Haikyuu, because I love the series. But at some point in season 1 I started seeing bc I loved your reactions, the way you match Haikyuu's energy in such a natural way, your understanding of the characters, the way you don't hate anyone. I usually don't understand people that hate someone in Haikyuu... Did they see the series with their eyes closed? The next Haikyuu video might be the last Haikyuu day for a while, there are rumors of a 5th season, and we have one movie left (It's the dumpster battle and another one), but yeah, that's all haikyuu for now... I'm staying here tho, I love your reactions and opinions, and I'm also staying bc you gave me motivaton to be best... to do things better... Haikyuu really gave me hopes, but you gave me the strengt to take that one step to start. Who would've guessed that an anime about a bunch of boys that love volleyball would mean so much? I know adult life sometimes is a bit too much, but have you considered reading the manga? The adaptation is really good, but there are a lot of things and details that get lost. Most of the time we say in comments what didn't get animated but is still part of the manga. For the last part of the video, YES!! The music that was played instead of the ending was Believer, the first opening in season 1. Now that you finished Haikyuu I'll finally have time to check your other reactions, AoT specially, maybe I'll check MHA too, I dropped it a long time ago... but watching it again with you will be interesting. And last but not least, have you considered watching Dandadan?👀
Thanks so much for your kind words legend! I really appreciate you having been here to watch along with me, I've loved the journey so much. I am gonna be posting a big video of Dandadan soon!
Hinata was a boy who only obsessed with hitting a ball. But the moment that had him hooked on volleyball was a receive. Lachy please react to the manga we're serious about this.
Lachy you are so lucky that you get to watch this and go right into the next movie, do you realize how long we had to wait for this fucking thing, in fact, I vote that Lachy has to wait 3-4 years before he gets to see it, it's only fair, WHOS WITH ME. UPVOTE IF LACHY NEEDS TO SUFFER LIKE WE DID 🤣
one of the scenes i really liked this season is when the other teams they faced off with before are watching them during this match. yahaba (aoba johsai) screaming for them to get back up n play was just !! (i think theres more in the manga lol) dateko too commenting on their plays, etc. its subtle, and maybe not a lot of ppl can pick up on it. they're watching, maybe in some way criticizing, but its the competitive player mindset or thought that "we know were strong because we trained hard to be strong. but in the end, you still beat us. so go show them just how strong you really are." the rivalries are still there but they do acknowledge that karasuno is a strong team. also, i love that you remembered ushiwaka acknowledging kagehina by saying that he'll beat them next time and saying its similar to what atsumu said to hinata (that he'll set to him someday). i feel so SO proud of our boys i told u season 4 writing is peak 😭 this match was so stressful lmao but it has the best payoff
I love this show so much. I do have to let you know your passion for the details is why I have watched it all again with you. I am also glad and a bit sad that we did did not see you have to endure waiting every week for it to come out. I can still remember the feeling of waiting after almost 4 years. And let me say the joy that we got the movie was so amazing.
You got it exacty with Atsumu. Its a huge respect to Hinata that such an elite setter singles him out as someone he wants to play with. Hinata just found new part of volleyball that feels awesome. Up to that recieve he was picking the skill up for superficial reason - at that moment he fully accepted it and in turn he fully executed it. Akaashi started to think about pushing Bokuto a bit harder - basically not babying him so much since he is locked in but then chose to play it safe and stick with his guns. Hmm such a throwaway line in the Bokuto Akaashi talk at the hotel - no chance you could see it coming. Ofc u know the song - its the very first opening :P Well there we go - time for the content hell :D Best part of the story we will only get snippets. The movie is awesome and I am looking forward to it but damn is it nowhere near enough. Tempted to mention every major play cut since its so mean to so many players. Once again gonna mention the manga - honestly I cant even think of a way to do that as a video other than post read thoughts so maybe check it out before the post season stream with rankings? :D
I rewatched Haikyu!! with you and hearing your thoughts as someone with volleyball experience made it a completely different experience. It was fascinating to once again realize just how realistic Haikyu!! is. Thank you for watching it with us! It was so good to see rival schools cheering so passionately, right? Also, the fact that Tsukki is the one explaining Hinata and Kageyama’s pair at the end of this match is just perfect! And you’re so lucky to be able to watch the movie right after season 4 without having to wait!! Perfect timing!
its funny how most people at 29:09, interpret Kageyama wrong, when he says "im not going to lose" hes not talking about the enemy team, hes talking about Hinata, because he refuse to have Hinata in the air and Kags NOT manage to do the set, IF he failed to set that ball, in his head he was "losing" to Hinata. Even in a situation like this he is competing with Hinata, its crazy
Man your positive messages, plus your positive (yet understanding) energy is so damn amazing. Loved the message about the holidays, when I was younger I had similar experiences, and I appretiate that you say stuff like that :)
Been waiting for this reaction. Love that ur watching my two favorite animes rn Aot and Haikyuu. It makes it feel like I’m watching it for the first time all over again. “Show them why I have faith in you” was the dialogue in the manga when kageyama sent that set to Tanaka to hit the sharp line shot. It gives me chills just thinking about that.
this match is probably my favourite in the series. it's so freaking well-written and gives amazing pay-off for our beloved characters. and i love inarizaki as a team too! can't believe we're near the end already, i've enjoyed your reactions so much and it's clear you love haikyuu as much as we do! this is so bittersweet
9:05 Osamu is the one that serves after using the 8 seconds, so he says that these seconds prior his serve are his favourite, maybe because he can take his time and all that 17:29 My dear Atsumu, you happened, had you kept your mouth shut he may have not done that toss 18:13 How could we be ever done with Oikawa when he clearly is the main character?🤣 Please! 23:53 In the manga Atsumu has a short beautiful speech before finishing with "I'm move Shoyo-kun", he comments on how he is greatful for any set no matter how short or off they are, and he will do everything to spike any ball (we know that it's because he had a period with no proper setter so he appreciates them) for Atsumu who we see puts everything in every one of his sets he really appreciates spikers like that 29:35 I think he is annoyed that they managed to "trick" the blockers, he thinks more as a blocker than a spiker, so he doesn't get very annoyed with a good spike but when others tool or trick blockers, no matter on which team 30:24 Can you believe that this throw away joke like exchange comes back in the last arc? It's honestly amazing everything they managed to fit to give a satisfying pay off, because it wasn't necessary, but because it was there it made the ending 10000 times better 31:22 Tsukki, the one that witnessed first hand the ball boy arc is the one that puts all his trust in Hinata, it beautiful 39:30 If I remember correctly, in the english dub Kageyama says "gocha". It''s sooooo funny, you should look for a clip 40:10 Funny enough, Tsukki, preparing to do his "at least it's in" serve, sees their banner of not holding back and desides to risk it and try to bring Aran to a knee. It's such a cool detail 41:36 "Speed is a curse" was said in the first Seijoh match, by Sijoh's coach, all the way back in season one, I'm telling you, no matter how many times you rewatch it you'll always find a new detail or foreshadowing 42:02 And who reacted? Kunimi, who Hinata learned it from, Kogane and Hyakuzawa who he taught and Johenzi's coach who witness it all 48:48 I mean, one of the favourites, there is still Itachiyama, who are the true previous champions 51:17 He went from begging friends to toss for him to having national setters saying they want to set for him! 53:08 He means that he now realises that Kita was right when he doubt he should go in and he may have made some conservative desisions 55:39 To be sooo respected by others that they want to be someone you brag about til you are old is amazing. And again, if you think the writing is great now you have no idea 1:02:09 nope, believe me, it's not out of nowhere
I only just caught up to your reactions in time for this season 4 finale! Your videos have been such a joy to watch. Your commentary is super engaging, and your editing style is fun. Glad I found your channel in time to be one of the 10,000 subscribers you will have by the end of the year! I've already started watching some of your other series and your mic'd up volleyball vids, and I'm so excited to keep tuning in!
almost like everyday im like "huh i wonder with the white boy on yt seen the new movie" to only realize you arent there yet LMAO so excited for you to see the movie but well the movie isnt the end of haikyuu, not even the end of the haikyuu anime. As your probably already know, the manga follows them to adulthood, but there are two upcoming movies for haikyuu. Butttt even with that being said.. if you REALLY like haikyuu youve GOT to read the manga, starting from chapter 293. Nobody has much faith in the movies because of how much content they have to cover in so little time, and even though the dumpster battle movie was amazing it still wasnt as good as the manga. On top of that the two other movies are most likely going to take like 4 years to make. EVEN MORE on top of all that, the manga is just SOOOOO good. Like youd be genuinely surprised its not that hard to follow through with the volleyball game play, and in my opinion, haikyuu was made to be a manga. ALSO you can read it for free online too lol
Also last thing. Just really cool to see another dude absolutely tear up watching a couple of fictional kids play volleyball. Such a simple thing on paper, but the lessons and writing in this story are so complex they force something new out of me every watch. Thank you for the reaction you’re top 5 Haikyuu reactions easily.
I'm so happy and sad you finished!!! It's very bitter sweet really. The battle of the garbage dump is everything so I can't wait for you to expirience it. I would recommend reading the manga first so you don't know what's caming but that can affect your viewing of the movie in a bad way, like it did to me, so maybe watch it first so you can enjoy it without thinking about each rally they cut. Maybe you even already watched it so there is no point in what I think is better hahahha But no matter the order make sure you read the manga at some point, I'm begging you, there is too much cut out, especially for people who care for every character. Because in this match every single character from both sides had their time to shine, in the movie they had to cut it to two characters, at most four, but even their parts are changed. Please I can't stress enough, read the manga, it's soooo worth it Just to clarify, I liked the movie, and those who worked on it did a more than fantastic job with what was given to them, it's just that it saddens me to know there are those who won't get to expirience the match at it's full potential, and I'm scared of how they are going to animate what's left without cutting like 80%
40:48 Just so you know the "Sky Love Hurricane" comes from 80's soccer anime "Captain Tsubasa". Among the many rival team the protagonist face there is one with twins pulling off very acrobatic and completely unrealistic shots among which the Sky Love Hurricane has one twin sliding with his back on the ground and the other jumping on him to be pushed in the air by the others legs (don't try this at home). They became the archetype of twin brothers with natural coordination in sports anime and so Osamu and Atsumu's mentioning the move is a nod to this.
so so glad you watched this series, its just incredible and your insight and knowledge of vball just made it so much better. you've been my favourite reacter to haikyuu and i cannot wait for you to watch the movie, it is just amazing. thank you legend, gonna miss these haikyuu reactions
Thanks so much for your high praise legend! That means the world to me. I'm super grateful you took the time to watch along with me. I'm super excited to finish things up with the movie!
That part where Kageyama is threatening everyone like Tanaka and Asahi with his sets, and then Hinata threatening Kageyama saying give me another toss with all your efforts (doesn’t matter if it’s a bad set unless if Kageyama puts everything into it) 🥺 I love seeing you getting exhausted from excitement 😂
I knew you were gonna need those water breaks, man! Lol. But yeah, the song they played at the end was the original opening theme for the show for the first cour, back when Karasuno first met and played Nekoma. At the time of season 4's airing, it had been 6 years since they last used that song in the show.
53:12 Inarizaki's coach: Shut up. This is MY strategy, we're sticking to it. also him: ... we probably should've been more aggressive. My bad. Kita: What did I tell ya😮💨 48:31 My boy saw that coming literally in his eyes. That last shot through his eye reflection, POETRY✨
Kept following along since the start. Had a great time rewatching with you. You are a legend for being a one man Hype Squad, always paying attention and for the inspiration (and keeping me hydrated). Excited for the Movie and hoping maybe you'll check out the manga one day. Thanks!
I don't know if you would like to do it but I think it would be cool if after all the animated stuff you react in a video to the rest of the manga stuff
Man I'll miss your Haikyuu reactions! To think I've been here since episode 2! I haven't been commenting that much cause of work so I watch them whenever I can, but never missed a single video! This has surely been a ride, and your reactions have been always so much fun and interesting! Only one more reaction remaining, and then... 😢 But then again, at least in the last episodes' reaction... ZERO HOUR SQUAD BABYYYYY!!!
You where so fast hahaha. I always appreciate you being here to watch legend and I know you've been here for so long! I hope work as been good for you and I will see you for the movie!
THE TANAKA MOMENT!! Ik Hinata's personality and drive make him easy to root for as he tries to learn volleyball throughout the show but Kageyama has a bigger issue in learning how to work in a team after making volleyball his bitch. Not only does he reshape himself completely here after trying all year but his own way of making others rise to his level is just so good, especially with that insane imagery with Tanaka taking his own leap of faith BECAUSE of Kageyama. The manga's translation is something I wish was in the show. Tanaka says something more akin to "That wasnt him trying to cheer me up, that was a threat" basically, Kageyama is saying "Show them why I put so much trust in you" which I think just fits the idea so much better. What a journey this has been dude! So happy to have been here the whole time and excited for the movie reaction!

Furudate-sensei making sure Oikawa will always make an appearance everywhere but Nationals. #JUSTICEFORTHEGREATKING
And THAT SET everybody..!! That set, makes our Serene King stand on the same level as The Great King.. hence they showed us Oikawa's frustration, basically telling us HE KNOWS.. he knows the moment has finally come when his student reaches his ceiling.
YO THATS CRAZY 😂😂
YES! I love how right after that Kageyama is calm and gets a powerful service ace. Then Tobio uses Oikawa's same exact soft serve that he used on the last point of season 1 to throw off Inarizaki. Thus completing the arc that Kageyama has caught up in his evolution.
@@michaelmireles3119 He's half frustrated and half proud(?) in a way lol
@@yusriyarofifahalimah1805 as much as @lachyywhite deny his love for oikawa on the surface when he feels otherwise deep down 🤣
@@yusriyarofifahalimah1805 putting oikawa everywhere to make up for not putting him at nationals 👀
Nah I agree I loved all the players watching our boys soooo much
@@lachyywhite yesh I loved that they showed it because Karasuno is, afterall, their Prefecture representative.
They're really there representing all of Miyagi not simply their highschool a spot they fought so hard for. It's great to see the others acknowledge and support them.😆
Giving you credit for being the only one out of the dozens of reactors I have watched who recognized Tora's sister 😂
lol so true
She so feisty I had to remember hahah
And the only one who noticed that this is the only time Tsukki dove for a ball ❤
The different messages they instill in the anime is sooo good, applying to our lives all the time
I officially declare you as part of the holy trifecta of Haikyuu reactors, along with Sarah Pavan and Coach Donny. :)
Lachy #1, love all of them though.
That is extremely high praise, it means the world to me legend 👑♥
AyoLaxZone is the GOAT if you havent seen him
Carlie & Ange always my favs
@@ju4niittow Laxzone is incredible because he gets so invested and emotional (i love watching his reactions). But for the techincals, the holy trifecta is (in my opinion) as mentioned above :)

Basically Hinata forced Kageyama to toss.
Thanks so much for watching a long with me, it is crazy how quickly we came to the end! I'm super excited for the movie now
When everyone is consumed by speed, making them narrow their vision..
Such amazing writing
"We don't need miracles" is such a simple line, it doesn't even get that much hype within the show, but it's one of the things that has stuck with me the most, and I come back to it a lot when I'm overwhelmed,
And YES, that moment of Tsukki trusting Hinata to be behind him and Hinata acknowledging how good Tsukki is as a blocker? Beautiful.
Love that it also parallels the "We don't need the memories" but in reverse.
We don't need the memories is like "All the special things we've gotten, we don't need it. We just need the drive to get even better"
and we dont need miracles is like "We've worked hard to get better, so we don't need anything special"
Who ever gonna say anything more then what this person wrote. Im gonna find you.
The only one I can say is, can't wait for the monsters generation match 😂😆
Bro just can't resist xD had to put the name even if everyone said not to
Another piece of Haikyuu poetry that just couldn't really make it to the anime due to the differences in the mediums (copypasting my explanation from another reaction): when Tanaka talks about the trust Kageyama puts in him, the author uses a neat lil trick in Japanese - with kanji, they write the word "threat", but they indicate that it has to be read as "trust". He was saying, 'Show them why I have faith in you'."
Kita's "rant" was wonderful.
That is super interesting but I really like it. Feels very true to kageyama's character
Hmmmm trueee I love that so much
This is why the Inarizaki match is my favorite. So much growth from so many of our players. And they really are perfect rivals.
Don't tell me you aren't?"
Osamu & Atsumu feel the same way towards each other. Of course you're supposed to toss to me." So Atsumu's like, "You (Hinata & Osamu) should be more considerate about our (setter's) feelings!"
PS - 28:53, This moment also proves that Hinata's game IQ has improved significantly since ball boy arc.
すごい。日本語の深い意味をよくわかってくれている。日本語って複数の意味を持たせるから外国の方には難しいと聞いた。私たちにしたら普通のことなんだけど。理解してくれてありがとう。
I don't know if you noticed that. Asumu immediately called Hinata by his first name, even though he doesn't know him. Only the closest friends or family members actually do that. Look who else calls Hinata Shoyo. The list is not long. its starts at very early in the game.
kyanmaaa
oooo interesting! I didn't pick that up, thank you for pointing it out for me
I love that you remembered the end of Karauno’s first match against Seijoh -- against the “we don’t need the memories” team, those ‘memories’ Hinata and Kageyama had were really important after all!!
And nooo not the last Haikyuu day soon, it can’t be…. I don’t know how it would work, but I think I’m not alone in saying I would love to see you check out the manga and share your reactions to everything that happens after the movie, at your own pace and if you’re ever up for it of course!!
I'll have to have a look on how I could do some videos with the manga but I like your thinking! I wont have to just wait for the anime then hahah
@@lachyywhite Thank you for being open to the idea!! ☺️
@@lachyywhite Also HIGHLY recommend reading the Nekoma match too even if you've seen the movie or will see the movie soon. They skipped some good stuff I would've loved to have seen in the movie for that match.
@@lachyywhite The manga is pure 🔥 Would 100% watch your reactions to It!
Thanks so much for your kind words! That is a super cool idea
Ahhh okay that makes total sense
from miya twins who loved inarizaki's concept of "we don't need memories" so much and were obsessed with never thinking back and always trying out new things to in the end say to Kita "we will be the juniors you can brag to your grandkids about"... meaning they will try their best to create great memories for Kita... such a great writing.
27:49 the battle of the century. we don't need memories vs we don't need miracles
Impossible to say which I like more hahah
Who knew a Volleyball show could be this damn good. It made me fall in love with the sport and it's truly sad it's not as big as the NBA or even the NHL. It's truly the perfect team game and deserves an audience that I love the creator of this show masterfully captured. I only wish we would have got one more full season before a movie as we're going to miss so much content that couldn't make it into the movies.
It is such a great sport! I think it'll change quite a bit over the next years to become more mainstream
His name is Akagi
Bro is a top 5 libero in the country
they literally mention his name offhandedly ONCE its crazy
Glad i finally saw this, its been queued for me for a few days, but ive been busy. Hinata's growth is so good and we get such a good end cap to the season with it. Hinata becoming a full player is what makes this season edge out season 4 over season 2. Also the day of writing this i weight in for the first time since probably about 2012 since i was under 300lbs. Ive lost 231 lbs in total so far.
Congratulations legend! That is an awesome achievement and you should be incredibly proud! I really appreciate you sharing
So there’s a bit of a hinata inner dialogue that was removed. It would’ve been after the point at the end of episode 23. “I don’t care if the ball is too high or too low. If it’s too short or too close to the net. So long as my setter tries his best to set the ball. I’ll take it”
Quick notes:
TV News "that's our story of a snake being jealous of the cat" "Must be hard being that snake" references the guy there with his girlfriend (he was on the snake team) and how he's jealous of Nekoma (the cat).
Ah I get the snake and cat joke now thank you for explaining it 😂😂
I definitely loved the end scene a lot as well, was super wholesome and nice to see them being kind to each other for once hahah
22:28
I think what's so subtle and special about the monologue is how Hinata is in the frame when Kita is talking about them not being geniuses from the start as Hinata is realistically as skilled as the two teamates Kita is talking to, but he has the same insatiable drive and love for the sport as the Miya twins.
KAGEYAMA'S SMUGGEST "NICE KILL" WHILE HE NEVER WANTS TO GIVE HINATA ANY "NICE" COMPLIMENTS LMAO
(remember when he grabs hinata by his collar, and tries his hardest not to say "NICE COVER" but he can't deny that it was a good save from Hinata and 2 episodes ago when he rather made himself look like a fool and a liar, than admit his own words the "NICE RECEIVE" HAHAHHAHA IM DEAD)
I literally cry every time I see the bump up that Hinata did 😭 I was so proud of him! I felt Suga so much in that moment 😭💚
My boy come sooo far
hahaha Oikawa's ear will always be a Haikyuu MOMENT! when it aired...we went a bit crazyyyyy!!! He is everywhere! maybe not on the court though hahahahhaha
Kageyama just reached his mentor's level...ahahhaha and the mentor, being who he is, is juuuust a litttleeee bit upset (his smile was hiding a bit of pride though...hihiihihi)
That is very high praise and means the world to me legend! I'm super grateful you took the time to watch with me. I've loved the show so much
I COULDN'T BOTHER KEPT SAYING HOW MUCH OF A MASTERPIECE HAIKYU'S STORYTELLING!!
22:20 *Hardwork vs Talent theme*
My boy, Kita's speech about my fav theme of the show "Hardwork vs Talent" is an outstanding example and the highlight of this ep.
42:35 *Taking it easy callback*
Hinata is the embodiment of true sunshine!!🌞
The whole sequence when Ukai starts monologing about 'Speed is a Curse'..
MASTERCLASS DIRECTING, ABSOLUTE CINEMA 🙌
46:21 *Speed is powerful but not invincible callback*
Tsukki is cooking in his inner monologue trusting his teammates (kagehina) and knowing full well they're the perfect match duo that can handle Twins' Minus Tempo. The monologue GIVES ME TEARY EYES, his voice is so soothing😭
47:29 *1st official match vs Seijoh mirrors Inarizaki's*
The final play comes back as a full circle moment mirroring Karasuno's end-game point in the match against Seijoh.
I could never, he's best boy
So good.
And the final moment reflected on kita's eye because he was the only one capable of saving that ball but he was out of the court. So good men.
Man, over all the reactors I have seen reacting to Haikyuu you are the one that enjoy it the most!!!! Thanks brother love yours reactions!!!
I appreciate your kind words so much legend! I'm so glad you have enjoyed it
So much to go over.
I can't wait for you to check out the movie-I absolutely love your reactions and commentary, just like Sarah P. does!
Thanks so much for your kind words legend, I am definitely superrrr excited to watch the movie
Thats a crazy amount of time to wait hahah, that'll be me very soon
Hinata my beautiful ray of sunshine. A competitor who challenges himself first and foremost and who challenges others with overwhelming positivity and continuous growth. He’s become my role model for how I would like to compete in my own arena in life.
This is easily Kageyama's best match. He's sooooo good this match
The shiratorizawa player screaming “cmon get up get up!” always gets me.
It was soooo cool
Hands down best Haikyuu if not anime reactor there is. Happy to be here since day one my guy!
Appreciate you so much legend! Means the world to me 👑♥
A cool parallel from this match to season 1 is that Karasuno lost in Season 1 to Aoba Josai by using the quick as the last attack and this time, Inarizaki who didnt' get the chance to learn how to use the quick effectively lost from stealing the same move that lost them in season 1. Pretty cool parallel.
Now, imagine having to wait 4 years to see the Battle of the Garbage Dump movie. To be honest, i just couldnt handle and just went to read the mangá hahah
That would explode my brain haha
an hour of absolute peak
man i'm glad i've been here from the start!! such an incredible journey, i really think you're the best haikyuu reactor out there with your attentiveness, analysis, humour and emotional responses, and there's so little left to watch..!!
inarizaki vs karasuno match is my favourite in all haikyuu
I appreciate you being here from the start kita! I loved the show so much and I am superrr excited to go through the movie next
I couldn't help but notice how happy Lachy got when Oikawa appeared randomly.
Dont tell anyone
It's been so great and I'll definitely miss the Haikyuu days
with this channel ever since the first haikyu reaction. seeing you grow together with the boys is an honor
NOW TIME FOR THE MOVIE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I appreciate you being here so much legend, it means the world to me you chose to watch it again with me! So so excited for the movie now
Yes, the ending music is the opening theme of season 1.
Thanks so much for your kind words legend, I really appreciate you being here with me to watch all this time. I'm sooo excited to watch the movie now
i can't believe it's almost our last haikyuu day 😭 is this when we start campaigning for lachy to do videos where he reads the manga? just kidding... unless?
thanks for these reactions, man. i feel very lucky that you happened to pop up on my recommendeds back when you were starting season 1. it's rare to find a reactor as attentive and invested as you are, and these videos really helped push me through a tough semester and reinvigorate my love for this amazing series.
it's been kind of fun watching you react to this at the same time as mha season 4, because they were airing at around the same time as now four years ago.
Saw his reply to a comment, saying that's he's OPENLY CONSIDERING it and not needing to wait for the anime---that's good news!
I gotta try and figure out a way to do it!
Lachy you are so lucky that you get to watch this and go right into the next movie, do you realize how long we had to wait for this fucking thing, in fact, I vote that Lachy has to wait 3-4 years before he gets to see it, it's only fair, WHOS WITH ME. UPVOTE IF LACHY NEEDS TO SUFFER LIKE WE DID 🤣
HAHAHAHA I wont post until then
I’m so happy and sad to finish this season I really loved how you picked every little detail about the characters and the games
one of the scenes i really liked this season is when the other teams they faced off with before are watching them during this match. yahaba (aoba johsai) screaming for them to get back up n play was just !! (i think theres more in the manga lol) dateko too commenting on their plays, etc.
its subtle, and maybe not a lot of ppl can pick up on it. they're watching, maybe in some way criticizing, but its the competitive player mindset or thought that "we know were strong because we trained hard to be strong. but in the end, you still beat us. so go show them just how strong you really are." the rivalries are still there but they do acknowledge that karasuno is a strong team.
also, i love that you remembered ushiwaka acknowledging kagehina by saying that he'll beat them next time and saying its similar to what atsumu said to hinata (that he'll set to him someday). i feel so SO proud of our boys
i told u season 4 writing is peak 😭 this match was so stressful lmao but it has the best payoff
That was one of my favourite parts as well! I love that they still supporting our boys
Thanks so much for your kind words, it means the world to me. I dont know how I'm gonna live having to wait once I finish it hahah
@@alisonmiller4636 word!
Ofc u know the song - its the very first opening :P
Well there we go - time for the content hell :D Best part of the story we will only get snippets.
Thanks so much for your kind words legend! And of course, I know it can be tough so I always want to help
That line is sooooo cold
who else was like Suga when he said he's gonna cry when Hinata did that high bump🙋 me for one🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
this match is probably my favourite in the series. it's so freaking well-written and gives amazing pay-off for our beloved characters. and i love inarizaki as a team too! can't believe we're near the end already, i've enjoyed your reactions so much and it's clear you love haikyuu as much as we do! this is so bittersweet
9:05 Osamu is the one that serves after using the 8 seconds, so he says that these seconds prior his serve are his favourite, maybe because he can take his time and all that
17:29 My dear Atsumu, you happened, had you kept your mouth shut he may have not done that toss
18:13 How could we be ever done with Oikawa when he clearly is the main character?🤣 Please!
23:53 In the manga Atsumu has a short beautiful speech before finishing with "I'm move Shoyo-kun", he comments on how he is greatful for any set no matter how short or off they are, and he will do everything to spike any ball (we know that it's because he had a period with no proper setter so he appreciates them) for Atsumu who we see puts everything in every one of his sets he really appreciates spikers like that
29:35 I think he is annoyed that they managed to "trick" the blockers, he thinks more as a blocker than a spiker, so he doesn't get very annoyed with a good spike but when others tool or trick blockers, no matter on which team
30:24 Can you believe that this throw away joke like exchange comes back in the last arc? It's honestly amazing everything they managed to fit to give a satisfying pay off, because it wasn't necessary, but because it was there it made the ending 10000 times better
31:22 Tsukki, the one that witnessed first hand the ball boy arc is the one that puts all his trust in Hinata, it beautiful
39:30 If I remember correctly, in the english dub Kageyama says "gocha". It''s sooooo funny, you should look for a clip
40:10 Funny enough, Tsukki, preparing to do his "at least it's in" serve, sees their banner of not holding back and desides to risk it and try to bring Aran to a knee. It's such a cool detail
41:36 "Speed is a curse" was said in the first Seijoh match, by Sijoh's coach, all the way back in season one, I'm telling you, no matter how many times you rewatch it you'll always find a new detail or foreshadowing
42:02 And who reacted? Kunimi, who Hinata learned it from, Kogane and Hyakuzawa who he taught and Johenzi's coach who witness it all
48:48 I mean, one of the favourites, there is still Itachiyama, who are the true previous champions
51:17 He went from begging friends to toss for him to having national setters saying they want to set for him!
53:08 He means that he now realises that Kita was right when he doubt he should go in and he may have made some conservative desisions
55:39 To be sooo respected by others that they want to be someone you brag about til you are old is amazing. And again, if you think the writing is great now you have no idea
1:02:09 nope, believe me, it's not out of nowhere
I only just caught up to your reactions in time for this season 4 finale! Your videos have been such a joy to watch. Your commentary is super engaging, and your editing style is fun. Glad I found your channel in time to be one of the 10,000 subscribers you will have by the end of the year! I've already started watching some of your other series and your mic'd up volleyball vids, and I'm so excited to keep tuning in!
Thanks so much for being here with me to watch legend, it means the world to me
almost like everyday im like "huh i wonder with the white boy on yt seen the new movie" to only realize you arent there yet LMAO so excited for you to see the movie
but well the movie isnt the end of haikyuu, not even the end of the haikyuu anime.
I love how this whole match, you're just despising their libero😂(It's understandable btw that guy is too fkin good)
Also last thing. Just really cool to see another dude absolutely tear up watching a couple of fictional kids play volleyball. Such a simple thing on paper, but the lessons and writing in this story are so complex they force something new out of me every watch. Thank you for the reaction you’re top 5 Haikyuu reactions easily.
wait until you see the movie reaction it had me crying all the time hahah, thank you for yo0ur kind words though legend, it means the world to me
cant wait for you to see the movie but im also really sad that our haikyuu days are almost over 😭💔 gonna miss them so much
Yes it's definitely bitter sweet! It's been so great though
THE MIYA TWINS ARE JUST SO COOL😭 I just love Haikyuu so much~ I can’t believe we’re already at the end. Sorry Inarizaki, but I need these memories!
Hhaha facts we came here to win
Please I can't stress enough, read the manga, it's soooo worth it
Just to clarify, I liked the movie, and those who worked on it did a more than fantastic job with what was given to them, it's just that it saddens me to know there are those who won't get to expirience the match at it's full potential, and I'm scared of how they are going to animate what's left without cutting like 80%
AH man when u said "dont say this timing" i exploded laughing 😂😂😂😂 Amazing reaction man keep it up
I got flash backs hahah, thanks so much for watching with me legend!
having to wait the manga to finally be animated is so frustratingg longgg
When Tsukki blocks knowing Hinata is going to be there for the receive is one of my favorite moments.

Thanks so much for your kind words legend, that means the world to me. I'm so glad you've enjoyed
I can't believe we made it through all four seasons, now movie and then we all wait together
That part where Kageyama is threatening everyone like Tanaka and Asahi with his sets, and then Hinata threatening Kageyama saying give me another toss with all your efforts (doesn’t matter if it’s a bad set unless if Kageyama puts everything into it) 🥺
I love seeing you getting exhausted from excitement 😂
I knew you were gonna need those water breaks, man! Lol.
But yeah, the song they played at the end was the original opening theme for the show for the first cour, back when Karasuno first met and played Nekoma.
At the time of season 4's airing, it had been 6 years since they last used that song in the show.
That is crazy it had been so long, you always hung out so long for the show

Inarizaki's coach: Shut up. This is MY strategy, we're sticking to it.
also him: ... we probably should've been more aggressive. My bad.
Kita: What did I tell ya😮💨
48:31 My boy saw that coming literally in his eyes. That last shot through his eye reflection, POETRY✨
Kita: well coach.. I'm just saying✋🤚
Kept following along since the start. Had a great time rewatching with you. You are a legend for being a one man Hype Squad, always paying attention and for the inspiration (and keeping me hydrated). Excited for the Movie and hoping maybe you'll check out the manga one day. Thanks!
Thanks for being here to watch the whole thing with me legend, I appreciate it so much. I'm super excited to watch the movie!
Next up: The Battle of the Garbage Dump.
I don't know if you would like to do it but I think it would be cool if after all the animated stuff you react in a video to the rest of the manga stuff
I'm definitely looking into how I'd do it
Man I'll miss your Haikyuu reactions! To think I've been here since episode 2!
I haven't been commenting that much cause of work so I watch them whenever I can, but never missed a single video! This has surely been a ride, and your reactions have been always so much fun and interesting!
Only one more reaction remaining, and then... 😢
But then again, at least in the last episodes' reaction...
