Love a bit of organising...albeit some procrastination in the mix...You've given me the impetus to sort my dressmaking room now!!!! Thanks, great vlog.

British Heart Foundation definitely collect rag (like old fabrics, unfinished wips) and I'm sure other charity shops will too 😊

I enjoyed your organizing video while cutting a long dress and sawing a ruffle. I do have a lot of fabric also of 3 yds each most of them but I love them all, I chose them with so much care and with a design in mind that I cannot get rid of any 😅 I'm building my mood board to start with One design every 2 to 3 weeks. By the end of this year I want to see how many I completed 😂

I had a color assessment done when I was 16. I'm now 54, still have my original packet of color swatches and a cohesive closet due to knowing my color season.

I also tried to guess my colour season through videos and figured I was a summer. Then I got my colour season tested and turns out I am a true autumn 😅. Never would have guessed that but now that I know it all makes sense. I think it's difficult to do it yourself since you are probably biased by the colours you like or are used to seeing on yourself.

I have that Know Me cardigan & skirt pattern! I've been putting off making it for some odd reason. Gotta get moving on it!

This was a lovely chill and satisfying video. I had to chuckle a little when that stack of McCall's dress patterns tipped over.
That vibrant pink silk is fantastic, and I certainly don't think it's an unflattering color for you even if you feel like it doesn't fit perfectly in your color season. The sample board is a great idea, too. I'm looking forward to seeing your makes of the new patterns, especially the DVF (and the wedding dress, of course)!

Yellow, grey tones that is often how warm, olive skin is described. On camera your skin looks warm, tan. I would put you into the warm autumn category. Peaches and gold flatter you a lot. Anyway, just my two cents as an amateur color analyst. 😊

Hi Gina, I’m so excited for your wedding dress. I Made mine also. I use an old table top on my bed for a cutting table. My daughter helps me put it on the end of my queen bed. That might work on top of your drawers tooooooooooo. Happy Sewing

I store my fabrics in deep clear lidded tubs. I fold the fabric in a square to fit, turn the tub on its end where I can stack them. When done I can open the lid and see every fabric neatly stacked in my tubs. I have 4 tubs and need to also purge some fabrics. One tub is just for scraps. Like you I also need to redo my sewing room. 🤦‍♀😂❤🥰

You could put fabric samples of your stash in an embroidery hoop just pin the pieces to a piece of muslin in the hoop. That way you can add and take away easily when needed for shopping notions.

Wow, thanks for this video!! I also have some very similar boxes of fabric one especially full of wips and fails which taunts me from the corner of my room!!! I had my colours done very recently and have made a video on it! I'm an autumn, but kind of knew that already but was useful to get it confirmed. I've also got stash hub and haven't managed to upload anything yet! 🙃😂

Your scraps and polyester, check with a local high schools to see if they have sewing classes or clubs or the drama department to see if they can use.

I give my fabric and yarns to the middle schools in the area. They have classes for the age group.

Great Vlog Gina thank you. I absolutely love the v2000 dress, I have a family black tie wedding in December and wondering if that pattern would be suitable? I don’t know what fabric would be best to use. I would love a fabric that would do wonders in pulling in those bits I’ll love to hide🤣 but would a heavier fabric spoil the look? I find it really hard matching fabrics to patterns and visualising the finished item. Thank you

I can't find a vogue pattern V2000, where did you purchase it from? There is the vogue V8379 which doesnt mention DVF, but looks exactly the same? !! I would love to get my hands on one like yours 🤔 Stash hub is amazing !!

Okay, but that talk of an Easter Sunday dress was just theoretical, right? A person with a wedding dress(es!) to sew has other things to focus on, right? ...Right? 😅
This is going to be a very stressful year for the both of us, Gina 😂

Hi there, great video. I wanted to ask. I have a sewing channel and would like to to use the sewing patterns to make content. I did phone the pattern company a few years back to ask about using patterns for content, but I forgot to phone back to talk to the legal department. I just want to ask about the name brands. I don’t want to mention brands or infringe on copyright with the sewing. I’m interested in showing both sewing techniques, solving issues, discuss interfacing, maybe change a pocket. I do a bit of tailoring and machine knitting.
You mentioned you work for simplicity, if you can ask what I can do, without standing on toes that would be appreciated. Thanks for the mention about working for simplicity. I follow Carlos on Instagram, one of your design team.😊

I’m a graduated from colour analysis program but I don’t take clients. A good professional personal colour analyst will not do online test. It is unreliable and results aren’t suitable for the person. Look for someone who does the test in person. It has been the old western field these days.
