    This is beauty! I looked a long, long time for "Live on Planet Earth"! I had heard it somewhere...I wasn't even sure who the band was!!!,I found it on a road trip to Florida 25 years ago. It was Sun Machine ( Halifax based), and the crossed eyed guy on sax that makes me want to play in a band with horns... Anybody remember his name? I actually met him again when I worked as shipper/receiver at Scotia Square in the 70's. The Mellotones rule.

    @The Mellotones
    This folks is a tricky room to mix and here, via Bernie and Andrew at the controls, wow - horn solos plainly set forward, and they are jazzy; Ian's keys blend on Brad C's perfect Jimmy Nolan style - the guitar actually has its full real tone. Plus, where Jeff M puts his voice is ideal, and best, his mood is right. Vital stuff IMO, so,, damn - for sure the baddest band in Scotia since the Arrows Club closed!
    Mind I would love to show people film of Little Royal in the Grand Parade, or Harvey Scales in platform shoes doing the splits, of Deacon Witherspoon playing B-3 with his toe, or of the Wicked Pickett at St Mary's Gymnasium, or even of Vaughn Shepherd leading Killer Egg at something called Orange Rock '71 (at QEH auditorium you got one bill with Beowulf, Snakeye, Jukatar, Sun Machine, Everyday People, Soma, Edward Teach, Universal Power, Langley Beach Crowd, Turnpike, Pepper Tree, and Fox.) Later that year Universal Power and Killer Egg blew away outdoor show headliners Steppenwolf at SMU.
    What you can see on YT from our local R&B tradition is a single CBC Frank's Bandstand c '67 with Scotia soulman Davey Wells swnging Stormy Monday Blues with band featuring Richie Oakley, Joe Sealy, Keith Jollimore, Jimmy White & Jack Lilly,
