Saw Phil in a small town called Consett in 2013, his last tour. There couldn't have been more than twenty people in the theatre. He knew he was losing money that night but he came on anyway and totally blew us all away. I never stopped laughing and was so glad I saw him.
i was there it was brilliant
shocking that such an amazing talent, I think dancing around genius has such small crowds. I wonder what happened behind the scenes with his manager and the BBC back in the day when he had audiences of millions.
People go on about how great impressionists are, but this bloke was the best of them all. No other even came close.
Fantastic entertainer that went down quickly. Makes me wonder how so much dross on panel shows and "comedians" manage to stay on screen?
Bad promoters! Fantastic act.
Love it. Always loved Phil Cool. Miss him on the box. Never got to see him live. At 75 I guess there's little chance of seeing his genius again. We can only hope.
I've loved Phil since I was little! Great comedy, clever material, top impressions, the faces are spot on. Plus he can sing. But he's just really creative, too. Some of his routines are more like art.
Phil is so perfect at what he does. He hit the TV and was immediately seen as a genius. He was/is so good he seemed surreal.
Phil you're the "Coolest" I had totally forgotten just how good our comedy/impersonators used to be. Good to see that you still have not lost
your great sense of observational humour. I was sorry to read of his recent
heart problems. Hope he's better soon. Phil, and all his contemporaries sure
make the so called "Comedians" of today look like what they are (Crap)
In this age of reality TV stars who are famous for the sake of being famous, it's a genuine pleasure to see someone talented displaying his craft.
God bless Phil.
There’s plenty of people displaying their craft. It’s not all doom and gloom.
Such an underrated genius and is one of my favourite comedians. I'm glad I've still got my five VHS tapes of his 80's shows (four official releases and one recorded off the telly).
They don't make them like that anymore, which is a shame. A genuinely funny man overflowing with talent.
he just trounces on modern day comedians. His talent is like capturing lightning in a bottle. I know all of the people he did impressions of in the 1980 and watching them again recently is nothing short of genius.
As awesome as ever.
And still had me crying with laughter.
I saw Jasper Carrott & Phil Cool in Sunderland and it was an amazing show.
To become a timeless act takes something special.
A few weeks later I saw Ben Elton.
- thinking "Man from Auntie"
Just before the interval, I was thinking "If I hadn't have paid so much for these tickets, I'd get up leave. What a pile of sh..e!"
I loved Reeves & Mortimer. (During "The Big Night Out" stage of their careers, and I still watch it with fond memories. )
But once they moved to the BBC, with in one series, that sparkle, that bit of something that made them unique and timeless seemed to disappear.
I think we definitely need more Phil Cool !
I tried watching The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer recently, christ it was painful . A few funny bits but a lot of dross . I remember buying the vhs of the tour, and they came on and did tomato rolling ?! I knew then they'd peaked .
Absolute magic.
I've not seen Phil for years, but this performance was as good as ever. What a swan-song!
Still good after all these years
Great Phil cool. A one off genius.
Only one word Mr Cool.
…..Splendid !
The greatest JR Ewing impersonation ever :)
TV is missing people with actual talent today.
Everyone hangs their boots up eventually, but Phil here is as cool as ever and mighty funny!
Going to go see him in chorley tonight looking forward to it.
I was at the show in Stockport. Had the pleasure of meeting him & John Thompson from Cold Feet.
Please release the tour on DVD it was amazing
So talented!
Never heard of Phil Cool until I watched Alas Smith and Jones.
That Eric Morecombe at the end was outstanding!
STILL GOT IT.
Brilliant.
That was great. Haven't seen him since the 80's but great comedy.
Too cool for telly.
My thoughts exactly about Reeves and Mortimer and of course "Wossy". The wife / plane joke reminds me of another joke he told about his wife. ( Imagine Phil Cool saying this in his own imitable way ) "I like Australia, in fact I met my wife in Melbourne....... I said to her ' What the bloody hell are you doing here? ' "
I love this man :-) xx
I used to live on the same estate as him in Leyland on the Bellway estate top man!!
Superb, but these last few minutes are really funny.
Brilliant 👍👍👍😂😂😂
Amazing! Phil is brilliant!
It's not easy, you know what it's like....
You're sat at home, it's comfy. And you think, "Should I stay here, with my feet up in front of the fire, in my favourite chair, a few chocolates, a bit of wine, a beer perhaps. A cushion at back of me head, watching a video, ooh yeah ?"
Or should I go into town and get stabbed ?
LOL ! The man's an absolute legend :D
That's class
excellent
His observations about society are so accurate that they are at once funny and painful.
He is doing a farewell tour soon looking forward to it.
Not as funny as he used to be, but still worth a chuckle.
used to love his JR ewing
why oh why oh why hasn't this bloke been given more airtime on he telly
Because he has no interest in doing it these days Phil is 72 now and happily retired
How can anyone compare the Great "Phil Cool" with those "Morcambe and
Wise" wanna-bees. Reeves and Mortimer, who were as funny as a wet weekend in Blackpool. The fact is Phil, along with his contemporaries such
as Jasper Carrott etc, they were the REAL ENTERTAINERS.
Gordon Brown left the Whitehouse????
W O K E
Phil You are the real deal/ Could you get a voice over deal, . from some where. you are to young. to retire. My pal..
So funny brilliant
Should back on the palladium bout time they had some real talent on there...not usual duffers...Phil's Great
Beyond Eternity Promotions who, I believe, posted this clip, mentioned that it was
taken from an upcoming concert DVD release. This was recorded back in 2011,
but I have searched the net, and can't find this DVD available to buy anywhere.
I've even e-mailed Beyond Eternity Promotions asking about Phil Cool DVD's, but
got no response. Does anyone out there know if this DVD was ever released, and
where I can get it from?
Up at the end. That's Blackburn is that?
Is this your sanderling?
Agree with Phil Cool re Vic Reeves & Bob Mortimer and why anyone would find them funny - or entertaining.
Is this Daniel the Spaniel's dad?
WORSHIP HIM!! hooh hooo....WORSHIP HIM!! hahaha........not allot. : )
Still funny , made me laugh anyway quango quango quango
He'd do a fantastic Trump 😂
The Jonathan Ross is best
He's not as good as He used to be..
Not long enough.
